      @@douglassmith8494 Yeah because the Toyota 4Runner and Ford Raptor IFS systems are well known for braking down and having expensive maintenance...oh wait (rolling eyes). The IFS is a major advantage for the Bronco over the Wrangler. It makes the Bronco better than the Jeep for everyday driving and high speed baja style off roading. Basically the Jeep is only better at hardcore bouldering and with that sway bar disconnect under load even that is only by a small margin. There is no way in hell they'd get rid of the IFS, in fact I wouldn't be surprised if Jeep came out with an IFS option in the not so distant future.

    I’m a die hard Jeep person and the Rubicon is the most bad ass factory 4x4 out there. I saw stuff from last year and saw how beat the test Bronco’s were after Moab and Rubicon. I’m thinking nice try Ford. Ford took that information and went back and tweaked the Bronco. I’m impressed. Unlocking sway bar mid obstacle. The turning brake. The one pedal. I received a questionnaire from Jeep about a drag-turning brake feature in the future. So Jeep is watching and listening to what Ford is doing. It’s going to be a 4x4 war. Just like the diesel truck war. Each up each one with more torque. Very impressed.

      I hope jeep does it correct and disconnects the rear and full dig with front still locked up. Really do not like the idea of a turn knob transfer case. I have been stuck in 2wd with a Ranger because of that. Broncos have been notorious for bad transfer cases. Look forward to seeing what this thing can do more for dunes and high speed. The swaybar disco is cool I guess? I hit the trail and the first button I push is the disco ( thanks Tazer). Not being able to do it at higher speeds or in high range was the only issue I have had. I cannot think of a single time it taking a second has ever been an issue.

      @@RickStefaniBroncos have been notorious for bad transfer cases??? You might want to research and read up on the history of the Ford Bronco. If I am not mistaken, the Ford Bronco was mage from 1966 to 1996. From 1966 - 1977, Ford used the relatively light weight, cast iron, gear driven, reliable and durable Dana 20 transfer case.
      The early models...1966 - 1972 had a 2.46:1 low range gear ratio. The 1978 and 1979 Ford Broncos.....and the vast majority of Ford F150, F250 and F350 trucks (and older Ford pickups) primarily used the heavy duty, cast iron, gear driven, reliable and durable New Process 205 transfer case. GM and on the other hand primarily used (except in vehicles equipped with the SM 465 transmission) the cast iron, chain driven "piece of junk" New Process 203 transfer case. Dodge also primarily used the New Process 203 transfer case.
      Both Ford and GM switched the the New Process 208 transfer case...cast aluminum, chain driven...with OK reliability. In the 1980's and early - mid 1990's, Ford also used the Borg Warner 1356 transfer case and maybe the 1345. You might be correct on the Borg Warner transfer cases. However, the Dana 20 and New Process 205 transfer cases have proven to be fairly bullet proof and both have been used in custom built 4WD rigs for several years. Therefore, your statement of Broncos being notorious for bad transfer cases is incorrect.

      Blah blah blah - EVERY new vehicle is full of electronics. How long have Jeeps/PW had electronic sway bar disconnects? Oooo, spooky! Electronic lockers? Scary! And, you mean that your entire engine & trans is full of electricity?! Regardless of brand!
      Stop being afraid of electricity - you're entire life is surrounded by it. It's in your pocket, all over your house, all over your car... This is a weak argument in 2021.
      And you should probably check out the most recent Shelby Mustangs too. Or the 2nd/3rd gen Raptor(or the Ford GT for that matter; only car with 2 different spring rates, it's suspension design is completely unique). Ford has been doing this thing for a minute or two(didn't it just take a decade before a Raptor competitor finally showed up?)...

      RyTrapp0 sounds like you have never bought a first year model of a vehicle which often has its share of problems that is experienced and it takes a model year or two for the manufacturer to work out. Vehicles full of electric technology do have more crap to malfunction, just ask any Mercedes owner. Depends on the manufacturer as I wouldn’t trust a Chrysler product full of electric crap. For off road I like the idea of keeping it simple, which also usually means more reliable, cheaper to buy and maintain. Ford does seem to have but this new Bronco through lots of real world testing so they may have got the bugs worked out. I own a Jeep CJ7, a Wrangler Rubicon and I plan on adding the new Bronco to the stable in a couple of years. I have always been a huge fan of the original first gen Broncos and Ford got this new one right in my book.

    • @JasonON
      @JasonON 3 года назад +1

      @@RyTrapp0 with every additional feature added to anything you increase the points-of-failure exponentially. One of the things Jeep Wranglers have going for them is they're still relatively simple vehicles compared to most other modern cars and trucks that have push-button controlled everything, heated whoop-de-doos and and a plethora of creature features. If you're one of those people like me, who has owned the same vehicle for 20 years (97 Chevy K1500), then longevity of modern features is incredibly important.
      So, I for one, am glad to see Ford out in Moab and other places pushing the Bronco in real world environments. Of course these vehicles get to go back to Ford mechanics at the end of the day, but at least they're being punished in front of a live studio audience.

      Don't be so quick to right off the 4runner. I went through all of that stock, didn't need fancy electronics to navigate a trail, it doesn't tow any like the 4runner can, 4runner is a 250000 mile vehicle. I doubt Ford will compete with its reliability and it looks like all the features come from a landcruiser. Idk I wouldn't give up my runner for something that has way to much technology and will shake it self to death on a serious trail. Been through Moab in my TRD off road totally stock no problem at all, ofcourse I got a scratch on the under bumper but I enjoy seeing them knowing I used the thing for what it was designed for, take me and the family across the country very comfortably, hit hell's revenge and drive me back home doing the speed limit plus 20 mph at times.

I was climbing Test Hill at Silver Lake sand dunes and rock crawling Hell Revenge totally stock and never was upset about power. I can tow 5000 pounds and feel perfectly safe doing so. Heck I race sedans and blow them off sometimes to. As far as style I'm going with the Mercedes G class method. If it sells and it works leave it alone.
