  • This is the updated video for the G model template routing. We changed templates for the G model route in 2012 and this led to confusion with the original video being for the original templates. This video shows only the back routing because that is all that changed. The original video is still good for the initial front routing (until 3:40 minutes into the original video). So please use the original video at evertune.com/installers labelled "EverTune G Routing Demo" for the first 3:40, then refer to the written instructions on that same page, or this video if necessary.
What we changed: we no longer use the custom drill guide blocks and special dog legged chisel for the undercut route on the top. This was nice cosmetically because it only made the string through hole on the back of the guitar. It was, however, dangerous, because it is easy to 'over' chisel and very hard to make a perfectly flat surface that is perfectly located which the EverTune bridge prefers for best functionality.
A general note about G model installs is that they assume les Paul type guitars. The G model bridges are made for guitars with angled necks, where the string height at the bridge is at and over about 0.6 inches. With these high string heights and thick guitars (Les Pauls are usually over 2 inches thick) it is easy to route 1 13/16 inches depth from the front of the guitar and use these templates. For thinner guitars with high string heights, like SGs and many more, the 1 13/16 inch route will go straight through the guitar. In this case the T model backplate should be used to cover the routing.
One last note, since we are not installers our selves, if some installer wants to do one complete and clean G model demo video with the new routing we would be able to offer a trade for two EverTune bridges. So please contact us if interested.
