    I am SO freaking glad I finally saw someone as angry and frustrated as I was watching this, thank you!!! 😂 I think as book fans seeing someone as mad as me is SO relieving because we truly get EVEYRHTING that was lost and wrong in the film, and just comparing it to how utterly brilliant the book is, it’s heartbreaking 😭😭 so to FINALLY see BOOK FAN react in as much frustration as I was in is SO releasing to see, thank you. Non-book fans just don’t get it, like they don’t understand just HOW crazy and different the movie is from the actual story until they sit down and read it and then they are like OH 😂 and feel as angry as us lol. I think the scene for me that I’m am MOST mad they destroyed was definitely the Trail. Like….the Trail was CRAZY tense in the book and Sophie was NOT making it out alive in that thing and all her obstacles were legit TERRIFYING. Like her dad and mom hallucination and her windpipe being crushed and slowly falling asleep as the other students (death) approachs, to the scarecrows being in the image of her father with her mom’s voice, to the TEDROS AND HESTER BATTLE, BRUUUUUUH!!!!!!! They cut ALL OF THIS OUT!!!! I was INFURIATED, it was all SO good and could have been made GENUINELY into a movie, but they literally didn’t even try, I hate it here 😭 Anyway, thank you for the amazing reaction! I feel relieved as a reader and can of the series 🥰

      Thank you so much for this comment! 💜
      I'm really happy that you liked this video and it makes me super grateful to find someone else who felt the same frustration that we did watching this movie! Non-readers will just take this movie at face value and see it for what it is: a somewhat fun but very confusing story. However, the fans of the book series, like you and me, are the only ones who will truly understand just how insane and unfair the changes were to the adaptation!! 🫠
      Hopefully, they redeem themselves in the second movie, but let's be real, do we even want a second movie when they ruined the story this much? 😅
      I've found that most book adaptations these days are just as terrible as this one was. But hopefully, this wave is turning around with the new fateful adaptations like Heartstopper 🥰

    so, the movie of sge is like the film adaptation of literally every single musical ever - fine on it's own, but if you compare it to the source just the worst most embarrassing thing ever. Also, I can't believe they removed Sophie's nemesis dreams or her killing the beast - it shows that she truly is a murderer and is truly evil.

      Yeeeesss I completely agree with you!! Even them changing the girl's friendship when they were still in the village, changed everything! Because they made Sophie look like she cared, so it was never truly justified why she ended up at the evil school.

    I’m SO happy that there’s FINALLY someone who is as mad as me about this movie! They totally ruined it and I’m absolutely furious! Us book fans know about EVERYTHING that the movie skipped. The erasing characters, the random stuff added, the background gone. The development gone, the Trial messed up and the Circus of Talents out of the movie. Good never had their Snow Ball. SOPHIE was the main villain in the first book, Rafal was supposed be hidden in the shadows for the entire time. Tedros was more likeable in the movies and I hated him in the books. Sophie was nicer, she was truly evil and she didn’t kill in the movie. Agatha wasn’t really ugly. Agatha and Tedros hated each other in the book. There was that whole thing about Tedros not wanting to repeat his father’s mistakes, gone in the movie. Surviving Fairy Tales, gone. The character appearances, oh no. Agatha‘s black haired and pale skinned. Tedros is blonde. Anadil is an albino. Lesso has black hair and violet eyes. Rafal is pale skinned, white haired, and blue/green eyes. That backstory at the beginning of the movie, shouldn’t be there. The ending was changed, Agatha doesn’t ask Tedros for permission to leave and she and Sophie don’t have fingerglows (which are also different colours) in Gavaldon. There’s so much more that they did wrong and if they make a sequel, I’m not sure if I’m going to watch it. The movie watchers who haven’t read the books know and understand NOTHING. They really could have made this a great and accurate movie but the only good thing I can say is that it was visually stunning. Great video though!

      Thank you, I'm glad you liked the video! 😁
      I've been a fan of the books for years so seeing this poor adaptation was really disheartning.
      I don't agree with your point on the characters appearance, simply because I'm of the view that as long as their appearance doesn't play a crucial point in the plot, it really doesn't matter what they look like, but nonetheless, I can understand why you would be sad to see it changed as well.
      As for everything else, I completely agree! It kinda felt like the director read the blurb and ran with it without bothering to read the actual book, which is just devastating..
      I'm surprised Soman even agreed to make a cameo when they butchered his work this badly tbh..
      Anyways, thank you for leaving a comment, I really appreciate it 😊

    I think movie was good... I didnt read the books and maybe is for the best... I never want to xompare books and movies because there will always be creator freedom which will change or rearange something and Im okay with that... It doesnt need to be copy paste from page to page

      Yeah I definitely agree with that! There are movie adaptations that I decide to watch without reading the book because I don't want my knowledge of the book to change my perception of the movie.
      But of course that there are other times when is just fun to watch the movie after reading the book solely to point out what's different xD

    • @theremainingwallflower
      @theremainingwallflower  Год назад +5

      @@gosnfrenki I think it might depend on how much money the movies make and how much success they end up having. But if it follows Soman's novels, it should be 6 movies in the 'school for good and evil' series plus 2 prequels, so 8 movies total (unless he writes more until then ahaha) :D
