Exactly, the first generation iPhone looks so primitive compared to what followed it. If sales are poor for the Galaxy Fold it will be a one off, if sales are strong then Samsung will invest more time and resources into improving the Galaxy Fold for the second generation.

I know it's a bit late, but Spotify not working on the lock screen was a Spotify Bug, which was fixed in the latest app update. Happened on my Note8.

Agreed. Coming from a Videographer who aspires to be a Filmmaker and Cinematographer, I sense that. The intro shots are carefully chosen, nice slider shots and push/pull shots, and the music really sets the tone that gives it the cinematic vibe. I also like his cutaway broll shots when he's demonstrating the phone's features.

Same for my S8, and it only started happening after the Pie update, so it's probably a OneUI bug.
The spotify bug isnt a problem with the Galaxy Fold, I had the same with the S9 but by just restarting the phone it worked again

Next gen will come. It's the future and theres enough hype around for manufacturers to keep pushing the tech forward. It's a risk for samsung sure but I think they are aware that if they spend the money now to develop a refined product in this form factor they will reap it back in sales and it will take co.petitors like apple 5 years to get into the game. By then samsung will be making another game changer
@Cristian Babencu if they don't succeed in selling these first generation device even though it's a limited edition they are gonna loose money . Next generation depends on frist generation such as in the case of S and Note series . Once they also launched a a little bit bended device I don't remember it's name they couldn't sell it and we never saw second generation . They are developing it for 8 years they have invested a lot of money in it . If it doesn't work they will have to go back to drawing board and it will take time may 2 or 3 or 4 years
Innovation? IT FOLDS. This is only slightly better than apple adding color to their phones. Real time Holographic displays would be innovation. I’ll be honest, I’ll be more open if Note comes out with a fold. Having the S-Pen will help with my productivity.
That would be game-changing innovation
It’s a reasonable idea but not as simple as just “porting it over” and calling it a day. The thing they’ll have to develop properly is making sure that too much use of the S Pen doesn’t damage the plastic screen over time. They’ll likely have to completely redesign the tip, find a more durable surface material, and make sure it works just as well at the crease as it does everywhere else. It’ll be a task within itself to get all of that right.

I really don't care that they have to redesign this or that. If they're able to integrate the S pen, they'll increase the market for the device.

here's the fix for the Spotify bug:
1.Settings
2. Search up "Special Access"
3. click on "Optimized Battery Usage" (should be the first one)
4. Find "Spotify" and turn the toggle off.
One UI wants to make sure everything is optimized for better battery life and performance. Turning it off should make it go back to how it was in 8.0 Lmk if it works!
I did find this option under settings, but it did not solve the issue. I'm having the same problem with my S8.

Anthony McNeil because it can’t even survive unboxing videos in a very high percentage of cases. The fact that so many people are justifying these faults are part of the problem.
This thing is a good prototype at best and they were ready to roll them out as they are. I have to expect they have a warehouse full of them somewhere as they delayed it very close to release day.
@@mcearl8073 That doesn't mean it's unfinished. The thing is what people have to understand is that this phone had to be made and it had to have these problems, so it can be improved upon. It's the first foldable phone and you expected it to be perfect, right? The next iteration will be better and the iteration after that will be even better. How many "first's" of anything has had problems? Many.
I'd just give props to Samsung trying to innovate with some risk, and even trying to admit their fault unlike other companies saying "you're holding it wrong". And I like the design except the small screen on the front, the wow factor, and app continuity. I am really looking forward to its second or third gen.
I'm looking for fold phones from every company in future with same price as for a normal smartphone or tablet, but for a normal price of phone or tablet you're buying two devices in one. It'll be really good selling point
and yes, bigger battery in smartphone - it's already a good selling point for me, but with previous reason I mentioned to buy fold phone.. I definitely pick one for myself in future..

I know we all hate the front screen, but it actually serves a similar function as the Apple Watch: it helps prevent you from spending as much time on your phone. On the AW, you see the notification on your wrist, know its not important, and ignore it. Same thing with the Fold.

I already got a nice laptop and phone. I’m good for a long while and even then I’m just going to replace the batteries. I have no intention on upgrading for at least 7 years.
Flagship and high-end phones are not trending cheaper. 2nd or 3rd gen of these phones will probably only go up from $2000. Unless they flip around and follow the trend of televisions and home electronics in getting continuously cheaper as tech improves. Doubtful from Samsung and Apple, though.

And a lot of things such as proper multi tasking (2 apps In full portrait) and selfies with the main camera😊
Have handsfree videocalls, take proper group photos without having to ask a stranger who then takes a bad photo, multitasking is amazing, best screen and a big size that just fits right in your pocket, a nice conversation starter because people are still totally amazed seeing a foldable screen, the list goes on

I had this issue with the S10 when i bought it, and the issue seems to have been fixed on my device
I've had the same problem on my S10 too, however I believe it was due to the optimized mode. As soon as I deactivated, they started working.

Great? it is a complete useless mess, only Huawei got it right. Galaxy Fold has so many issues, big notch, horrible scrolling, holes, when folded it is bulk and even a side is bigger than the other.... cmon.

The lock screen Spotify control doesn't work for me either and I'm using a note 8. It might have something to do with the software update.
They sometimes don't work for me either and I have Honor 8.
These controls dont work most of the time and the app has many lags plus too much loading time. For me this has been the case with my last phones which are a galaxy A5, a huawei p10 and a pocophone. The spotify experience has just been bad for me, but there is nothing to replace it with...

I have a note 8 right now and I'm expecting it to last me at least 2-2.5 more years. I'm excited to let this tech stew for a couple years and maybe pick up what's being offered by then. I totally agree that there should be a note fold though. The s pen seems like a perfect pairing.
I have a note 8 too. Got it last year. So I'll have it within my contract for another year and will keep it for the indefinite future as well because my phone lasts.
Only reason I got it is because someone stole my Note 5. Then they returned it after I bought this. I would still be using my Note 5 had that not happened.
And this was right before Note 9 was coming out. Pissed me off I had to buy a soon to be old phone.

Either way, I applaud Samsung for actually innovating. We need more of this. As someone who had iphones for years, I actually think I'm done. They're getting too comfortable and their software isn't the best anymore. I mean the leaks for their 2019 phone has a notch.... A notch in 2019 for a phone that expensive? Nah

Folding screens are a tech that's been around of many years, but like all tech, Samsung love throwing shit at the wall even if it is half baked.

@@Kimdah_ That's because Samsung has *a ton* of phones to support. Apple only has a few, like literally 10 phones to support currently. Samsung has over 200 phones to support, same deal with Huawei and the others like LG, Sony. OnePlus is doing a good thing with their 2016 phones having Android Pie, but that's about it.
