    Have you ever tried deleting Avast? I tried to delete it off my old XP pc and it locked me out of the whole computer with a big red warning screen. It was this experience that led me to try thepay for MWB instead, on a new W7 laptop, and after a few weeks MWB tried to scan whilst W7 was trying to sleep, and I never managed to get it to start again.

    Question do you like Open Office better than LibraOfficd

    • @AskYourComputerGuy
      @AskYourComputerGuy  Год назад +3

      Great question. I have used libre office, but I use open office daily. That’s probably my preference, but that’s only because I use open office more often. Libre office is good and safe and I trust it.

    That supercopier link leads to a page with a lot of dubious looking "download" links. Not even sure which one is the right one and the green one you point out isn't there anymore.

    Why do you need both Malwarebytes and Avast anti-virus?

    • @AskYourComputerGuy
      @AskYourComputerGuy  5 месяцев назад +2

      I prefer Avast free for ransom viruses that Defender doesn't catch. I use MalwareBytes Pro because it's primary focus is malware, which is the most common form of infection nowadays 👍

    So I had a look at Fraggler and now I have a popup telling me my McAfee subscription has failed.

      Do you have McAfee installed as your main AV program? It could have been "also installed" during another program installation. Just remove it if you don't use it 👍

    I would have to disagree with you in your recommendation on office software. I would not go against MS office because for compliancy and standardize especially writing essay and for assistance use what the school of your choice needs. AND THE SCHOOL OR COLLEGE WILL GIVE YOU A LICENCE FOR OFFICE 365 FOR FREE! My college did amd i did not have to pay anything for Ms office. I do sgree with AVAST AS BEING THE EST PROTECTION!

      Hey if you get it for free and it works, go for it! My argument against it is that a) it's unreliable and b) not free for most people. But I say use it if doesn't cost you anything. As my local client just found out when her Outlook refused to open, it's not my first choice...at least for mail client anyway

    All crappy Apps, specially Malwarebytes which is a virus itself, how you dare to recomend all this crap?

    • @AskYourComputerGuy
      @AskYourComputerGuy  3 года назад +10

      Malwarebytes is absolutely NOT a virus. I have used that program for years and it has discovered and cleaned many infections from many clients' machines. I'm sorry you don't agree with this list, but these are apps I use on a daily basis. Your preferences or needs may just be different.

      So has anyone figured out which software company the OP works for yet? I have only used two of these prior to the video and I have found them to be very useful and nearly indistinguishable from the "recommended" program for daily use.
