Interesting! In my day no one in the OR wore jewelry- a simple pendant necklace could easily come lose and end up in the surgical field.

hi there! is it hard for you having a dog and being a resident? Did you also have a dog during med school?
I'm in medical school and have a dog! :) It is totally doable and adds so much love to your life, we also have a good dog walker that we hire when we need to. I of course can't speak on having a dog while being a resident yet haha but that will probably be way more hectic

Praise be to God 🥳guys I am just so super happy I finally passed 🥰my NCLEX after failing 6 times but thanks to my friend who recommended me to Mr. Hudson,🙏 who provided me with audios and answers papers I thought this wasn't real not until I approach the exams, I tried Uworld, Kaplan, and many methods but failed two times but that GOD today am a proud nurse , to all those who are still struggling to clear thier NCLEX also never give up see in your self and give a try to any opportunity you got I will recommend anyone who needs the same help I got by dropping Mr. Hudson , number I wish you all goodluck.🥳🥳

I LOVE grey's but I hate how in that episode they made fun of her for working in the OB unit, As if they made her less of a doctor...I want to become an OB/GYN and it was really discouraging to hear them making fun of that specialty. I still love Grey's Anatomy with all of my heart but I just wanted to point that out...

Oh gosh hahaha I've always been this way, tbh.. it's a blessing and a curse bc I truly wear my emotions on my sleeve and when I'm happy, I'm ecstatic! But when I'm sad... oh Lordie, it's badd lolol.
There is only 1 tip I have for this -- be yourself :) You don't need to be bubbly or to be serious or whatever. You just gotta embrace who you are and be true to yourself :)

This motivates me to do school work so much! I’m pretty young...I’m only 12 lol but I have wanted to be an OB/GYN since I was 5 so this is really fun to watch, also I just got a suture kit and I’m really excited!!! 😁 anyways keep up the great work and thank you for the motivation! 😙

I am a midwife. Hospital birth is not birth. Its a 52 billion dollar per year cow/calf operation where the goal is to pull babies out alive and not get sued. They do not care about women or what happens after they leave the hospital. More women need midwives and there is a strong trend toward home birth like never before.

You’re such an inspirational figure for me. I am also planning to go to med school after under grad and then obviously will have to do residency to become a doctor and you make my vision of it so much more positive and intriguing! I’m only a senior in high school and I’m stressing out over what I have to do in collage to get where I want to be, which is kind of where you are but seeing that you have made it this far makes me hopeful and determined to work hard to get there too!

in terms of undergrad, I'm in my third year now and studying for my mcat to take in April 2024! I'm planning to apply to medical schools next year! Very far from when I left that comment.
I'm on my ob rotation right and it's such a culture shock. It's been rough and it's not going well.

I watching this and thinking the hell my mom went through I'm the first born and My mom had a emergency section bc the nurse never filled out the form saying my moms water broke it was a student nurse who saved me. My mom said they gave her anesthesia but it didn't really work bc as soon as they gave it to her they rushed her in to the surgery room she said she felt them cutting her and I was also really big when I was born😭😭 like 9 pounds but everything went well im 13 now and my mom still had 2 more kids after I've been trying to find the student nurse every time I go to the hospital but I can't find them but im glad that they saved me bc if they didn't I wouldn't have accomplished what I have done now!😁😁

Can someone help? How is she in OBgyn rotations if she's not in med school anymore? Kinda confused can someone help haha
This is the first video I watch of her, so I'm not sure about where she is at, but I know this much: Orientation = in medical school, Residency = specialization POST medical school :)
So she’s a resident physician. She’s actually a dermatologist but certain specialties like derm, anesthesiology, pm&r, etc. have to a preliminary year or a transitional year before they can start training for their specialty. I believe she’s doing a transitional year so it’s basically like med school again where she rotates through medical specialties before starting as a dermatologist trainee in the summer of 2021. Only difference is that she has more control over her patients. But not too much because she’s not a categorical obgyn resident (aka not training to be an obgyn).

I had an emergency c section & it was also my first surgery ever. I thought it was the coolest thing ever, especially the OR. I wish they would of dropped the drape so I could of watched but my husband almost passed out

hi I felt the same way about surgery and blood but i started watching surgery videos on RUclips and blood withdrawal videos and i found that it is actually super fascinating and its definitely something you get used to

Yikes! So many c sections. We have SO far to go in obstetrics here in the US. Do you mostly do cesareans because midwives mostly attend vaginal births? Or because you really do that many cesareans?
We do many more NVDs :) only do cesareans if absolutely medically necessary or if mom elects to

How does intern year work, you were talking about how you chose derm over OB. So over your intern year you do everything then chose at the end?
Matching happens all at the same time in year 4 of US medical school. She's in either a transitional or categorical intern year before starting dermatology residency.

It's a completely different job. Both are surgical specialties though, but they perform different types of surgeries.
