Larian Studios really is one of my favorites. It's a hell of a story--a studio whose first few games really didn't take hold, but all were more fleshed out realizations of games that already existed. They've been around forever, have released enough games to have honed their craft, and are now some of the most revered RPG devs, led by a charismatic Danishman. Why aren't more game studios like this?
This guy is a genius. You can literally do almost anything in DOS2, as long as the physics and turn-based mechanism allows for it. The sense of freedom is in a very similar sense to that of Zelda BotW, and I say that as a compliment instead of comparison, purely because more people are exposed to Zelda, and they don't know about DOS perhaps.
Great seeing these earlier videos of Swen talking about DOS 1&2. His passion to make games for players, not profits, finally came to the peak of success that BG3 turned into. So long as he remains in charge of Larian Studios gamers will be the winners.
Just finished the game and it flows absolutely seamlessly. I appreciate the tremendous effort to giving all these origin characters rich stories. Makes the world very believable and the characters very intriguing companions to have. Thanks Larian Studios!
I am absolutly loving the first game and have 400+ hours into it; I bought the EA of the 2nd part, too, and having fun trying out different stuff. There I have played over 100 hours and I am amazed, mostly But I don´t think that all of these dialogue permutations are really necessary, almost no one will use them, because you are playing the game first and foremost as a team that wants to finish the game and beat all the monsters and magisters So I really hope that this over-ambition will not ruin the game and delay its completion until 2018
That counts for the first Playthrough. However for the NG+ and such, you want to have an different experience, and that's why this aspect higher the replaybility, thats why i have to disagree with you...
wait... 12 ways to escape?!... lesee; there is that ladder near the sick persons tent the lava slug queen cavern that guy that ditches you on a cliff with a secret passage to the prison teleporting through the guarded gate idk i count 4...
I am a super fan of this game . I was use to the moder RPGs but then i play the first game .... NO MAP MARKERS i was lost for about 8-10 hrs without knowing what to do but then i fell in love with this game . I am currently playing the early access for the 2nd game and im loving it . But the full game will have voice acting for the NPC's , the first 30 mins of the game that are cut from then early access , Act 2 and Act 3 , more items , Undead Race , more character creating options and more I just cant wait .............. The level of rp goodness has me most excited. I've just started the first original sin (currently fighting Jake's Murderer)
DOS2 shirts confirmed
Swen should read audio books. I would listen to him read a phone book.

I'm loving the look of this game so far. It makes me actually consider Early Access. I loved the first game!
Erik C do the early access, game is f×÷èing amazing
You should check out the Original Enhanced edition. It's some what less serious in tone, but a fantastic title. Hundreds of hours or rpg goodness.
Being able to play as a lizardman pretty much made my dream come true.
It was a good lecture, as always, Sven. Ok now back to the game, your game :) Looking forward to see the Undead by the way.
genius

Kinzuko you can escape on a boat after saving the magistrate in the prison, you could kill everyone and walk out, at least 3 ways to teleport out
When the release of the game?
sometime 2017 I think
And if more specific?
that's what Swen said in the video, that's as much as we know
if you still want to know it's sept 14 2017
If the characters don't do there battle shouts with real voice I will be very meh to it
Cmon give us the final game
It's not like they are withholding it from us. They are simply trying to make it good.
