(paraphrasing) You notice this soo much in the worldcreation, the quirkiness and the overall passion about the whole game. WELL done Larian studios. I'm not a hardcore fan at all of RPG games but when my friend persuaded me to try it out, I loved every hour spend on this game!
Saw this game randomly on Steam back during the beta right after they released "AI 2.0" and the only content was the first act, undead hadn't been added, Fane and Beast weren't even in the game yet! Still, even in that very early state you could sense the potential. Getting my ass handed to me repeatedly in that early beta motivated me to purchase the first game, which a friend and I quickly plowed through and thoroughly enjoyed. Didn't touch II again till it was released and man were we floored. Definitely one of the best games we'd ever played from a developer we'd never heard of, that clearly put their whole heart and sole into the development. One thing that really stood out for me was the music system (band nerd). The ability to select which instrument takes the lead at key moments for each character, after killing blows etc. and how it transitions is just amazing. Played through as Ifan with the cello as my instrument and still just hearing a bit of the soundtrack brings a grin to my face. :D Amazing game, Larian. Please never change.

Great documentary.
This year was very bad for the True RPG gamers , when you see that Monster Hunter: World Wins the best RPG Games at the Game Awards 2018, something was wrong right ?
For me, Divinity: Original Sin 2 and The Witcher 3 are the best of the best for a long time ;)
The fact that you're suggesting a monster hunting game isn't a "true rpg" because you prefer a turn-based mechanic is irksome...Monster Hunter won for the same reasons D:OS2 won, leave your bias on the floor.
Definitely one of my favorite games of all time.
Imagine if BG3 had co-op and a turn-based mode?!?
Just imagine ;)
Best game I played in 2018.
when u look to leaders in this rpg game industry, Larian is it

"When you look at most Western RPGs, they just dump you in a big open world, and let you do whatever you like... It becomes very difficult to tell a compelling story when you're given that much freedom," -Motomu Toriyama director of ff13, ff 10, and co director of Ff7 remake
Excited to hear about more of your next game. Hopefully it will release on consoles day1!
