Great video. I'm a 61 year old woman and I installed this ad-on blind in no time, with no issues, by myself. The written instructions were clear enough, but being able to watch it being installed gave me more confidence that I was doing it right. Thank you!
Nice video! Clear voice is easy to understand, and the video answered my questions about getting the plugs out for access to loosen the screws, and some other things that I wasn't clear about from brochures. Now I'm off to order the unit for our door.
these instructions are better than the instructions that came with the blinds. If you have door handles other than round knobs, the depth of the blinds might make it difficult to turn the handle.
Thanks to this GREAT video, I was able to install my ODL blind myself AND I removed an older installation and properly cleaned the inside. Thank you SO much.
Thank you for the video. It was easy to install after watching. The little screw caps were tricky, but worked out ok. Once again. Thank you.
Thanks, Wonderful Video. Sure made the directions clearer. We installed two of these tall framed units in about a 1/2 hour. Went on just as advertised.
This video was a life saver!!
Excellent video. Easy to install. Make sure to pivot lower side clips outward before installation and lock the clips at the end
Installed it so much faster with this video. thank you very much
Very good info on top clips, 2 tabs.
Excellent video and much appreciated. The only thing here that wasn't mentioned is that you should have a flat head screwdriver to wedge open the frame to fit the spacers in, in case of a tight squeeze (like mine) and a box cutter to remove any residual paint and help release the window frame from the door.
Ooooooo ioi
Missed the part about pivoting the side clips outward, I was trying to get it flush with the window not realizing you have to move the bottom clips out the way. Also works better if the side bottom spacers are placed right above the 11.5 mark. Otherwise the side clips do not pivot back inward and bump into the metal bottom spacers!
all done and they look great, thx!!
Video makes it much easier thanks!
Great vid!
This is awesome!
Thank you Sir
Tip for the half view install. Followed the instructions on the video but could not rotate the lock clips out at 14". When we moved the side spacers to 14 3/8 up from the bottom of the door glass frame everything locked just right.
Thanks for making, I am painting a back door, could not figure out how to get the blinds off.
I have installed these blinds on half doors and couldn't be happier with the result! I am installing 4 full door add ons so exactly where should the bottom spacers be placed? Centered, above or below the 11.5"?
Above
I placed my spacer above the line too since the instructions did not specify. However, @2:09 of the video shows the spacer should be installed below the 11.5 inch mark.
Awesome
Hello, I just installed my add on blinds which I had high hopes of making the room dark...it won't shut out complete light. For example I have reflection going from the door on framed photographs.
My raised frame is 66.25 by 24.25. The standard 66 by 24 did not fit, do you have any other options or tricks to make that work?
Any tips for doors with handle style door knobs? The handles stick on the raised frame.
How to weathering around the spaces in the frame now??
Will these work with French door handles
Watched 1/2 of the video and understood what I needed after reading the plan's not clear enough I have 30 years in construction and reading plan's just redo your plan book leaflet and START WITH GO TO RUclips AND WATCH YOUR COMPANY'S RUclips and for the anal's customers do a 1/2 light installation Thank You
My odl didn’t have side spacers with it. Do we need to buy the same seperately?
Is there a product like this for sliding doors
This video demonstrates placing the side spacers below the 11.5" marked point on either side. Pivoting the side clips makes the leading point of the clip touch the center of the spacer. Should the clip actually mounted centered on or higher than the marked 11.5" point? This might allow the clips to slip under the frame using the opening created by the spacer
ODL I have the same question? If she would have put the pencil mark on the left where the camera viewed we could tell without having to ask.Thank you ODL.
Where can I buy those specific top brackets?
What if my molding is too big? The glass is the same size but the unit want actually go over the molding on mine because it's too big.. I don't really want to return this. Is ther any other way I can get this to work?
I just purchased two of these for my patio doors at Home Depot. They do not fit my patio door. My window frames are 21.5 to 22 inches.
They have 2 sizes. I did the same thing once.
Super helpful video, amazing product!!
Those bottom clips are a bear to line up
I will have to call the ODL customer service department. I bought some patio doors from Home Depot and I'd like to buy the ODL enclosed blinds but the dimensions are 22 x 66 and I don't see one that size available.
No matter what I do, I cannot get the upper right side of the add-on flush with the door. 😢 The bottom right corner is flush, yet there is a gap ... and those metal side anchors? Basically impossible to slide under the clips once the screws are tightened in place. I've been at this an hour and am about ready to chuck it.
My half dooe blinds are not hooking into to the top brackets no matter how hard i try. Customer dervice was closed at 2pm m6 time so ive been teying for hours and getting nowhere. 🙃 any advice or clue why the top brackets wont fit into my add on blinds ?
I need the top brackets and botton spacers where can i buy i can not find and website does not have for sale
I love my odl screen but after a year my screen is un even and not closing all the way…how do i fix this?
Where can buy the top brakets?
How can I do it, because my door does NOT have a frame as the installation recommendation says. They sell an extra kit to install this product on doors without frame???
Check out our instructions on how to install Add-On Blinds for flush framed doors (no raised frame) on our website here: addonblinds.com/installation
ODL I have a raised frame around the glass but no screws and no clearance to wedge anything between the door and the raised frame around the glass. Is there anyway I can still add the blinds to my door?
Paper instructions or video do not mention how bottom spacers should be flipped to one side or the other. One side is longer than the other.
My right controller is no longer sliding. Seems like its stuck, won't budge. Any advice on what I need to do to be able to raise and lower the blinds??? Help!
Take them off the door and check the string mechanism. Should be an easy fix that takes some time. Most likely a kink in the pulley system. Look up how to fix blinds that won’t slide up or down anymore.
Is there a UK equivalent? Anyone know?
How do you install if you have no glass frame screws???
Hi. I do not have side frame as well. May i know did you find any other product for the doors without frame?
@@siddharthaj14 sadly this product is not made for pressure glass doors! I ultimately ended up getting a Roman shade from select blinds, and it looks so good!
Yeah, they make this look easy but, wait until you go to remove the plugs and screws.
How much is this?
$126 at Home Depot and Lowes for the full door version

Honest question how do you clean the inside? looks like it has been collecting dust at the bottom, took them off the door and the dust is trapped inside.
Thank you for your question! If you are willing to share your contact information, our Customer Service Department would be happy to talk to you about this issue. You can also contact our Customer Service at Retail_info@odl.com.
@@ODLBuildingProducts sure will thanks for replying.
I want to remove mine
Why? And I assume of you do... you’d just reverse the steps
I am not happy with this product AT ALL! It took 3 hours to get to the point of being able to hang the $*%& thing and now the clips on the bottom wont slide anywhere despite measuring everything PRECISELY. The spacer is PREVENTING that clip from sliding in behind the old frame! Even banging the clip with a hammer would not get it to move behind the spacer!
Would be SUPER helpful if you did a better job showing WHICH WAY THE SPACERS GO!! The directions and this video are VERY UNCLEAR, the lady's hand was in the way!!!
Why the eff do your products have glass in them?! I dont need to cover my window with a whole second window for no reason! These should be like a $30 product cause there's no reason to have a second pane of glass. Dumb
False sense of privacy. You can see inside through the thread line. You can see the inside by peaking. It looks nice though.
