Thanos' sword would work only in so much as to scratch Doomsday the first time. If you read hunter prey, Doomsday adapts to the weapons real time. Any weapon only works once at the most.
@Lemon Grab People don`t understand something very important about Doomsday. When he dies he doesn`t come back immune to what killed him, he comes back highly RESISTANT. Big difference. If they would fight, at their first encounter, I`m very sure Thanos will eventually kill him or simply remove him from the battle field like Superman does but Doomsday will give Thanos probably the worst physically beatdown he ever received or will receive.

Doomsday was created in ancient Krypton by taking a baby of the dominant kryptonian race of that time and expose him to the harsh environment of the planet and vicious predators. Any time he died, his creator Bertron would collect the remainings and clone them into a more resilient incarnation and then repeat the process. Over few decades baby Doomsday grew up being virtually immune to any weapon or force existing on Krypton but it took couple decades to continuous exposure to the same factors in order to end up immune. This also tells us that Doomsday in most of his appearances was basically a teenager and not a fully grown adult. He`s been killed in the same way multiple times before. The Guardian of the Universe sacrificed himself and explode in order to kill Doomsday with the energy blast. The Radiant killed Doomsday also with a huge energy blast. Imperiex Prime killed Doomsday also with an energy blast. All these happened consecutively but I don`t remember the exact order. Doomsday comes back RESISTANT to what killed him, not immune.

Their is a gross misunderstanding of Doomsday in this comments section. DD was originally not even a planet buster lol. The most powerful version of doomsday was able to defeat an avatar of Darkseid. You guys have been watching to many death battle videos if you believe base Darkseid has anything on base Thanos who is a low level skyfather while Darkseid in his base form is only a mid level team buster. With the gauntlet Thanos could defeat an infinite amount of Doomsdays. Base Thanos could defeat a team consisting of doomsdays if he wanted to this fight isn't close and it never will be.

DD harming and avatar of Darkseid isn't impressive. Superman has and he is at best multi planet level on average. His best feats involve destroying moons. Thanos shakes galaxies and if infinitely stronger then DD. He could legit fight hundreds of Doomsdays at the same time.

If it was DD vs Thanos (and escaping the fight is not an option), then DD would win. There's really nothing that Thanos can do against DD. Thanos can beat Silver Surfer (minus the board), but DD can beat Superman without exploiting Superman's weaknesses.
But this fight was against Thanos + Infinity Gauntlet. In short, Thanos is not a a factor at all. It's a fight between DD and IG. And obviously, IG wins my light years.
They would be knocking down mountains and Doomsday gets strong the more you hit him.

no infinity stone can kill doomsday. granted he actually hasnt been ripped to shreds by said power so in a way yes it could kill doomsday but in the end it doesnt matter due to his curse which revives him automatically immune to what previously killed him.

If thanos was fighting the Doomsday from batman vs superman thanos has no chance he can use all his intelligence to beat Doomsday but he's just going to come back immune to whatever killed him last so thanos will run out of ideas thanos without his precious gauntlet that he's always desperate for to win a battle he will get torn apart from Doomsday in a MELEE battle
