Amazing collection! My thing is, yes, fomo is real and some brands misuse it. But to see people posting saying that if it's limited edition it shouldn't exist? Like Simply said, some pigmets they couldn't use in non-LE quantities, and you get people being like "well if I didn't get it I'd rather they didn't make it"? That, to me, is a child's opinion. If you can't be happy that these cool polishes exist even if it's sad/upsetting that you missed out, if you'd rather a world where creativity only exists when you can consume it, then in my opinion just bow out. I'm happy that Holo Taco makes such cool and interesting polishes even if I missed my chance on some. (and I can't wait to Ride or Diamondddd!!)
I honestly agree with this. So much. I watch every launch even tho I can't buy as much, just bc I like the creative process and vision. Also not to mention that I don't see as much backlash when quantities last longer. Which makes sense, but I totally think it's reasonable to understand when things just sell out faster 🤷🏻♀️ it happens. I've been around since the first launch, I remember the first year where things always sold out QUICK. That doesn't happen much anymore, royalty stayed in stock for a while. It was pretty clear that birthstones was unexpected and kind of an anomaly :)

I had the expectation that we in December would get a creme turquoise polish, and then you hit us with Tanzanite Away?? Literally the most beautiful nail polish in this collection 😍 I missed out on everything but I'm hoping it will come back! I also hope Peridon't bother me makes a return, it's a stunning green! Also come to Europe, it's so small so all of us Europeans would travel from everywhere to meet you!

I was shaking a bottle once and it flew out of my hand and hit the wall and then my desk and then the floor. Did not break. The bottles themselves are such high quality and I love the effort and time Simply put into making every detail high quality.
Oh I've had a similar way I launched a polish from my hands when I was giving it a good shake XD It slipped from my hand, bounced on the bed (this was before I had my desk set up in my office) *twice* hit the window sill, then window then back to the bed. It was so bizarre
Customer Service is incredible! When the after party collection came out I had ordered that, the dotting tools, and the storage rack. It went missing and they replaced it when they realized it wasn’t going to arrive. Months into the new year, a very mangled box appeared on my doorstep and it was the original order. And of course when that happens you get to keep the original order. So I actually have a brand new storage rack that I can open when I finally run out of room on the other two for free. (and even though the outer box was mangled all the product was perfectly fine and unscathed)
I only recently joined your streams after only watching highlights previously but honestly at first I just lurked because it’s intimidating to join an established crowd and to be an insignificant name flying by… I did join in with the chatting recently though and if I don’t fall asleep (shh the streams start at 2AM for me) I’ll make more of an attempt! I might not know you well or that long but I always thought you seemed sincere and forthcoming, there’s no way there was some scheme to sell out or whatever people were saying. I’m also surprised (and impressed) at the outcome though; I was up late waiting for this collection because I’d been waiting to bundle it with some polishes I’d wanted from Dark Academia and couldn’t wait any longer; so made my purchase within the first 10 minutes… but I’m very much one of your forecasted types since I had a hard limit of how many I was buying regardless of what I wanted! New Day $8 tank tops are awesome; I used to shop for Xhiliration from Target. My Ulta x Holo Taco arrived today, I am extremely impressed with Fallen Flake Taco, it'll go with everything (and other Holo Taco) I have.

The reason for selling out quick is definitely not the LE marketing rather the beautiful shades. Everyone who is crying about LE should go and touch some grass. It’s nail polish!
2:10:00 For me I think part of the disparity between negative headwinds before launch about the collection vs wildly successful launch is: Beforehand, people were reacting in general to the fact of there being 12 in one collection. A lot of people-me included, get worried about that in the abstract b/c we want the brand to still feel like every shade is special, thoughtful, gets its time in the spotlight. Ramping up frequency & collection size makes people nervous that the output increase would soon devalue the specialness and art that we associate with HT, and make it feel like they're being "churned out", which we don't want. So announcing 12 makes commenters go "whoa, slow your roll maybe"- but that's with an eye to the future, not a comment on the actual current collection being announced. However! Them being birthstones is an obvious and great reason for there to be 12 in this launch, so that objection doesn't actually apply to the launch itself. And everyone feels connected to their month, and birthstone polishes make a great gift, plus they all looked incredible and you guys absolutely slew with every single shade. So for all the hesitation/guff you were seeing on socials before launch, it didn't actually impact sales b/c it wasn't about this collection as it exists at all (well, except for the Opal complaints lol!)

I loved the birthstones collection. I don't have that big of a budget and everything said about not expecting everyone to buy everything at the 2 hour mark made me feel better because I used to feel guilty for not buying every collection. 😅

My opinion on why it sold out so fast is... The 12 set bundle was not treated like a limited "box". Once June sold out that ment no more bundle. So x about of 12 set then on top of that each shade had their own forecasted number. With it being limited yes this was more treated like a mini/week day launch.
I'd be interested to see how many HT polishes the people who bought the full set already have. If I didn't already have way too many polishes, the whole collection is an excellent way to get essentially the full spectrum. Maybe you don't plan on wearing all of the colors very often, but now you have something for everything.

The 12 piece collection worried me because I wouldn't be able to participate if it happens more. I skipped Dark academia to ship in the same package as the birthday launch, so was surprised at how big it was. I am looking forward to them landing, but I gotta watch my financials extra hard for a bit now.

I want to add some feedback on my purchasing choice for the dark academia and birthstone collections. I buy everything polish wise from every launch. I passed on the dark academia because I knew the birthday launch was coming and that would be LE. I knew that I would more than likely be able to get the whole academia collection in the next few months because they are not LE. The birthstone collection took priority because I had a gut feeling it would sell out.
I think the die hard collectors buy collections and i think that's a lot of people, maybe if you restock as individuals and not a bundle would be good until they sell out

I loved seeing your concert experience at Madison Square Garden. Billie obviously gave a great performance. I thought I'd offer this bit of info regarding lighting at Billie Ellish's concerts. She has Tourette Syndrome, and a portion of that population have light sensitivity issues. Ellish is one of those people. I'm guessing she limits extreme strobing and flashes of lights to prevent any neurological reaction. Maybe her laying down on the floor helps calm her when she feels a tic coming on?
When I saw the birth stone collection, I thought 'oh it's just a bunch of birth stone colors. How could that be exciting?' Then I watched the video detailing each color and wow, they were so .. gorgeous, each and every one of them. I'm not big into nail polish yet (I'm a guy, and right now I'm only do one coat black and your Spooky collection) but everything was so beautiful and unique, if I can even say that with my level of experience. I can't really say what could have made this collection sell out so quickly (if I remember correctly, it sold out in the middle of your launch stream for the product? You looked super bummed out and even now you seem very apologetic, which is cool but also you should be happy you did a home run). 12 colors is a lot and it's expensive. You'd assume people would be a bit more stingy when buying such a huge collection. That being said it's like a full spread of colors besides white and black. You couldn't go wrong with this set -- it had everything.
