Fantastic! What a great video, and so nice to see these old aircraft are still going strong. Would love to get on a classic 747 at some point, do Iran Air still operate them on scheduled routes?
I think US got a serious meeting with Iran this year and probably maintenance of Boeing aircraft and many of the new airliners like B748I, B773ER, B77X and B789.
So good to see classic 747's still being used, especially as passenger planes. I guess if other nations had access to so much domestic oil as Iran does, we would still see classic heavy metal in the skies. Fantastic video!
what an amazing experience to fly the B747 classic in 2016.......that's only possible in Iran, I think! :-) FANTASTIC video, looking forward for the BOM landing!
Every time I hear a video from you, it seams in comparison to others I favor, your sound is always excellent, wonderful videos, way to go and please continue to keep them coming. I have just subscribed. :)
Jt9d awesome sound I worked at Northwest Airlines before we had them until 2007 the only US Airline to have them at that time in the mid 2000s I got to fly the last Revenue flight from Seattle to Minneapolis I really miss this airplane
Hey eric, i’m sorry to disappoint you but the engines seen in this video were actually General Electrics CF (forgot the number) engines, newer 747-200’s used these engines.
Back then, due to US sanctions which the airline can't purchase newer aircraft (including Airbus), their only thing to do was keeping older planes flying. Iran Air's 747 was one of the case where old planes still flying in Iran, which already retired since 2016.
Iran is truly a treasure trove for aviation nerds. Great video!

Incredible! I never was able to fly on the 747-200 but this is just amazing.
You're still the best source for classic aviation machines, really excited when you post new videos.
+raykrislianggi - AniMusic Thank you. I just wish I had the time to upload more!

How about sanctions?
Actually most of Iran's jumbos are alternate parts from Russia and Middle East

This one uses GE CF6-50C2 which the same engines used on DC-10 (except series 40 which powered by JT9D) & older A300

Cool video. Is that economy or business class? Nice view of EP-IBI.

+Ian M - flymajj ya know if it crashes (sorry, when it crashes) that's a bad place to sit :P
Does anyone know what's the purpose of half thrust start and then full thrust after a delay? How is that possible using the throttle?
Great Video Bud, superb sound from those classic GE CF6s.
Not a patch on the JT9Ds
these classic GEs have such a gentle spool up! Love it!
747SP classic
please upload full movie!!
There's a Iran Air Boeing 747-SP parked in the runway
What happened to the other 747-200's (EP-IAH, EP-IAG)?
EP-IAH was scrapped, and EP-IAG is still in storage I believe.
Why do they still fly the 747-200
They don't. This was taken several years ago.
