I personally prefer the second one. It has so much detail in the river and tha land, and the minifigures are great. I like how they made the kids darker skinned to make Wonka look pale. And also the Oompa Loompas aren't terrifying. But that just my opinion.
These look great! Maybe some of the weeks you could do just some of the custom sets on insta? I know there's not a ton, but it'd be cool for that as well if one catches your eye haha!

I think the 2005 Charlie and the chocolate factory set loos better in terms of build, but the minifigures in the Willy wonka and the chocolate factory look better. However, I will say I wish they did a hat/hair piece, like they did with the riddler.
On the second set, I would hope that the waterfall is motorized or at least has a crank. So it can be moved similar to the TV screen in the NES set. Haven’t looked into other sets from the history of Lego, but I don’t recall one off the top of my head as having a “working” waterfall.
I think both, but even if one of them gets picked to be make as a lego set, they might only make one Oompa Loompa figure, also you should check out my Three Caballeros set that I made in LEGO Idea.
That’s really cool but not for me. I like the original movie but it’s just really obscure. There’s so many varying environments in the movie from industrial to futuristic to prestigious to scary and to outdoor environments like this chocolate lake. I think a diorama like the bionicles anniversary with small parts of lots of different scenes would be great.
I grew up with Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. But honestly, I’d prefer a set based on Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. The original films is just incredible, even if there are aspects I really don’t like about it, it’s more iconic. Also, as I’ve gotten older I really love Gene Wilder, so I would love to see him as a minifigure. Oh and separately, I don’t like people calling Charlie and The Chocolate Factory a *reboot* or a *remake.* Each film is a different adaptation, a different take on the same Roald Dahl book. Just a little nitpick that only really affects me.
He just used existing pieces with some modifications here and there and changed up colors. If LEGO would end up making the set they would probably redesign the figures to look a lot better

@goblues17 That’s what I like about it, he plays the character very different from Wilder and i think that brings a new interesting angle to the character. I still really like wilder too though
“Controversy-wise” Johnny is innocent. If you think he isn’t, somethings seriously wrong with you. Since he’s innocent, there should be no reason that the “Controversy” would affect this.

I personally believe they both have their own issues. #2 - If Warner Bros and Disney don't want to associate with him innocent or not LEGO would have a very tough decision on their hands. #3 - Because Warner Bros has dropped Depp from Fantastic Beasts. I doubt they'd green light a project with him in it.
