Need a binder for each corner for proper securement. DOT will have a fit. If that rear chain breaks... you only have one binder that is securing the rear of the equipment on the skid steer. Pull the slack of the chain between the two securement points on the back of skid steer after the chain is secured on both trailer sides, put a binder from chain on trailer side to chain on the slack side, on the inside of the two d-rings, using one chain is fine, if one side of the chain breaks or a binder fails, it will still be secure on other side if binder is on the inside of the slack side of the chain, the center section of the slack becomes irrelevant. Only one chain is needed in most cases where there is sufficient room to make slack in the middle and can be used if secured property. Plus it makes it cleaner looking and you only need 20’ of chain instead of 40’ and needing to find a place for excess chain that wasn’t used. Don’t forget a strap over the bucket either. Silly DOT stuff but it’s for safety too. Wouldn’t want to lose the rear chain pulling a grade and have the entire weight of the skid steer being held by the front chain only, right? I hope this helps you and that I explained it correctly.
Makes sense. I wasn't aware that it was law for having a binder at each corner. I've been doing it wrong too! Though I just pull my loader around town locally on a bumper pull trailer.
@@skliros9235 in town or over the road, I would still CYA, taking away liability from yourself if something was to go wrong never hurts, plus the fines are not cheap for any DOT violation, plus the hit on your MC number, etc... @@skliros9235 In this load a DOT inspection is shot down. You are using a single chain for two corners and a single binder. you can use a single chain but it must be loose in the middle and with two binders. the law says four independent points

Hey Yousiff, just a tip for you my brother. When you get to any truck stop, ask for the DOT securement, SAFETY REGULATIONS hand book. You can go wrong with the law by having it? Great videos! I have a ram 3500 dually with the high output Cummins and a 40ft big tex. Don’t sell yourself short. Don’t worry about being greedy because that isn’t the case. The brokers are a lot more greedy than you think. I told a broker I can take their load they were offering $700 on for $1000. He said no best he can do is $800 absolute max. I said no worries I’ll be in town another hour if you change your mind thanks anyways. Sure enough he called back and gave me it for $1000. Keep in mind brokers are keeping anywhere from 30-70% of the load at times and there is a lot of room for negotiation. Maximize profits because if you don’t you will be slowly going broke in the long run. If you need a partial to pay for deadhead to get to a high paying load you booked then that’s not a bad idea either to take it for the offer price. Be safe out there!
My man thank you, I thought I was being greedy but I guess there is a lot of room for negotiation as you mentioned so I’m gonna hold my ground next time!

With the empty requirement on the rate con, have the broker notate that it is a partial, and that you can load other loads with it. (Most of the time this language is in the rate con by default because the load was built to be ftl, and then moved to partial. Most broker software is built for ftl, it will also still prompt to ask if a driver is empty even if that's not a requirement) - I am a partial specialist for one of the largest brokers-

Hello, seen your video via @tow piglet and you do remind me of him. Setting up a table and laptop on my first video I seen of your channel. Now I’m a 7 year CDL holder. I’ve exp. in tankers and 53ft trailers. Now I’m interested in hot shot my question to you is should I get a job as hotshot before jumping in with both feet. Trailer and truck will not be. A problem to get Thank you and keep on trucking
Hey Luis, appreciate you watching brother! Yes since you are downgrading from a semi, I would recommend that you at least work for someone for a bit. Unless you know that you’ll be okay living in a confined space
hey can you give me the detail of the ford you have , like what model and engine you have ? and what make you pick the stx package ? did you include the trailer assist?
Yes I have two 2020 F3 50 with 6.7 L diesel engine. The only reason that I have STX is because they had this truck on their lot and I did not want to wait for another truck for three weeks so I just bought it. It does have the trailer as is but I never used it because I don’t rely on trailer assist
Just Mario - Are you sure? That sounds odd to me that a broker would make so much more than the truck or wood. Unless the broker is paying a lot of other expenses out of their share of the money. I’m not saying it sounds odd because it’s unfair, because life is unfair, I’m saying it because I would think truckers would demand more money knowing that more money is out there.
Also the reason they don’t want anything else on the trailer is because the customer paid them for “exclusive use” meaning they got bankroll for that load.
@@ontheroad7097 no one person can change anything but if many people stop taking cheap loads they’ll stop screwing people over. I personally have noooo problem telling them no and hanging the phone up. I’m not going to be a slave to cheap freight just because I want a load so bad. They don’t get paid if you don’t run the load.
