Big congratulations to EDG, they overcame all the adversity and pressure and really improved in this tournament. The amount of new possibilities and team play that S1mon has brought to EDG is incredible. zmjjkk is still a beast and smoggy has really stepped up. Nt Heretics…. It's heartbreaking to finish second in two consecutive tournaments, in Shanghai and Champions Seoul. It seemed so close, but it was so far away. Miniboo has been said to be inconsistent but he really regained his confidence and stepped up in this tournament. Despite the loss, they were definitely an impressive team this year.
Don’t get me wrong EDG were the better team and deserved to win today, but let’s not act like they had the hardest route. They by far had the easier side of the bracket, avoiding teams like GENG and FNC.

Probably one of the craziest storyline tournaments in VCT this year. Just thinking back on it there are so many memorable events. The Sentinels are the Madrid winners and bring home their second international trophy. GenG are get first Pacific international trophy to Shanghai. Stax finally leaves the DRX team, Navi (formerly FPX) ends, NRG never reaches an international LAN, G2 (The Guard core) reaches highest ranking among Ascension group (7th/8th in Champions). etc…. Never has there been an esports that is as internationally competitive as Valorant. I hope that Valorant will never end up like Dota 2, League of Legends, CS GO, etc where only 2 regions are competitive. Well, the off-season will begin in September, and Ascension will begin in each region. ooking forward to that too.

Absolutely loved Champions 2024. Every match was 50-50 and we were able to see new talent rising to the occasion and make history. Trace with their group stage wins,EDG making history,SEN with their unexpected top 4 finish,GENG's early knockout,DRX's formidable performance. People were whining how this tournament wasn’t hype enough...well it definitely delivered imo.

No need for a spoiler block, everyone watched this match GGWP to both teams, I was fine with either team winning but I found myself rooting for EDG. KangKang's Neon looked like the most dangerous Neon in the world in this series. I feel really bad for Heretics though, they really deserved a trophy. After Shanghai there was at least Champs for them to bounce back, but looks like they'll have to wait until next year. Also, goddamn, S1mon really dropped in and became a World Champion in like a month's time. That's insane.

A lot of those rounds were won with the Neon slides and the first shot accuracy that comes with. Absolutely loved Champions 2024. Every match was 50-50 and we were able to see new talent rising to the occasion and make history. Trace with their group stage wins,EDG making history,SEN with their unexpected top 4 finish,GENG's early knockout,DRX's formidable performance. People were whining how this tournament wasn’t hype enough...well it definitely delivered imo.

Congrats to EDG and Heretics. Great series. On a side note, this Finals should show how broken and annoying Neon is. A lot of those rounds were won with the Neon slides and the first shot accuracy that comes with. Don't understand how Jett has only 1 dash with a timer yet Neon has 2 slides that can be used at any time and almost instantly. Just my opinion.
