Through today's match, I realized how important Zellsis is. Having someone who can lift the team's spirits in a pressured Bo5 is a huge advantage. GenG did not have such a player.

Phenomenal anchor. He kept them mentally in it and made them competitive on ascent, breeze and icebox (their 3 worst maps btw)
Then after that he put on a phenomenal performance on icebox to close it
I think the very important one in sentinel is their coach

This must be a heartbreaking result for GenG, as they could have won 3-0 in straight sets if they had been able to close out BIND in a close match. Still, they will be proud of how far they have come in such a short time as a new team.

You understand that in a double elimination format that the Upper Finals winner usually either gets "two bans" or "a bracket reset" and in the bracket reset scenario, that Sen would've had to beat them in 2 separate BO5s back to back?
And that having the unfair advantage is the reward for winning the Upper Finals? Does that make sense?

SEN had the toughest path to making playoffs in their regionals and then to winning Kickoff itself. They had days of rest and then faced an even more difficult path to making playoffs and then go on to win masters here. they faced EVERY major team. singlehandedly wiped EU & APAC and their own americas competition. they had literal hours to figure out their icebox in this BO5 and CRUSHED that final map vs GEN G. nobody and i mean nobody in their right mind would've had this team going this far with the challenges they faced - johnQT DID ALL THIS ON AN EMPTY STOMACH BECAUSE OF RAMADAN TOO. it was the most grueling tournament but they won it. greatest in the world.
