- I made a floating bench for my backyard in Joshua Tree! This cantilevered design using wood, steel and concrete to create the floating aesthetic. Learn more about the 2024 Trend of the Year at the following link: www.cabotstain.com/en/start-y...

I love everything you do on your channel but i also miss Jessie’s videos so much! 😭
Agreed! How's the Poop House coming along, Jessie?
Now that should last a hundred years.
Nice project - and also always here for the Jessie moment ♥️
That turned out fantastic! This bench got some sweet vibes. Oh and Jessie will always be your perfect project model 👌🏼
Ok, so you made a diving board... Now for the pool!
That’s awesome
Thank you for share
You probably want to cover the bolt openings as they will fill up with water during rains and corrode the steel from inside.
Good project 😊
Could be a combo barbecue/grill and long dining table. Super project.
I love this project! I might have to steal this one!
Nice❤
If I'm not mistaken wire is used when you don't want your rebar to rust out at wielding.
I need some water under that bench, like a very shallow reflecting pool
Great concept and execution. Another alternative is to drive a bunch of 8ft postmaster steel posts into the ground and weld/bolt onto that. Wrap them in wood, stone or any other finish of your choice. 🍷😁👌🏽
Looks cool, definitely a sweet spot to hang out.
Fantastic!!!!!
Joshua Tree…..so beautiful, a great place for that bench
Digging a hole in the middle of the desert looks a little "sus" (as my daugthers would say) HAHA.. Great video thought Ben.
Wonderful
Great build!
PS - lock washers are a myth. They don’t do anything.
Wow. In the beginning I thought it was a bad idea as the bench will sag over time, but your construction method is awesome and now I want to build that and display as my dream piece in the backyard! Great stuff.
Turned out great, I love the little drink area
Fabulous!! Lol I want one!
Very very nice!!!!!
Really cool! Nice job.
I like the stone accent top, however, I am concerned that the steel angle corners might be a harsh skin catch or cutter; how is it? It looks very cool though.
I agree
Just love your channel
🙏
I'm not planning to ever construct anything like this, but now I know, how it works 👍🏻
Very cool 🎉🎉🎉
Well done bro!
nice bench
Looking rad dude.
Looks great, though I worry that the sharp edges could do some damage.
DIY diving board too!
Great video. Cool bench. Super solid and indestructable. Mahalo for sharing! : )
basically a diving board!
My first thought: 'you forgot the pool, dude!' 😅
Cool
Aka a diving board with angle iron under it
Is that the Galvanized Square Steel 😮😮😮
Have you attempted using mirrors for illusions like this? Love it ❤❤❤
I saw the thumbnail and thought it was a Pink Floyd album cover that I hadn't seen before
I really like the way it turned out. When you started building with the 1 1/2" square tube, I thought it might be a little springy but I guess the big angle took care of that. The finished project looks kid proof.
One question: What did you mean by slippage at 6:26? I'm not construction expert but I would think that the rebar would tie the two together and prevent any movement.
We all love Jessi. We all miss Jessi.
Guys, I am new here. Who is Jessi?
Thanks

His younger sister. She used to sometimes participate in his videos and she has her own channel, 'Ijessup'. She hasn't posted anything in a year, though.
Nice video and work! Thanks!
Is this bench comfortable to sit on for a longer time? I guess not as there is no back rest and your legs are not touching the ground…
Nice, but the corners seem sharp
Could you share what kind of welder you use? Are you using shielding gas when you weld? Thanks!
I mean, the 10 pieces of rebar would of probably prevented the "slippage without the cylinder... but Its an awesome project
Those 6 nuts and it's washer friend's is the entire construction
Any bets on how long it'll be before you move the sandstone to center over the white concrete support?
Next project, 'how to build your own pool'
cutting hole for the bolt lessen the sthregth of the tubular steel.
Nice work! Any plans to bring back the podcast?
with her laying on it it look like a diving board over dirt
Is that an iJessup that I spy, making a cameo? :)
It's a desert diving board.

Good grief! 🇦🇺
@5:55 ?
Shed roof house finished?!
04:17 Lucky the cops didn't drive-by at exactly this moment! You look very suspicious.
Overstrengthened foundation =) But very nice and interesting.
Are you editing your videos? This one looks a bit different stylistically. Not bad, just different.
2. You drilled into the steel first, and then located the holes on the plywood.. how did you do that, I need tips??
3. I would like, in the future, if you would denote what discs you are using for what task.
You were so preoccupied with whether or not you could, you didn’t stop to think if you should
So you made a low diving board. 😂
How does one find a place to buy steel? D: It's not a home depot item ;.;
There should be metal supply places near you. Often you have to call them and place an order then you just go pick it up.
That brand of stain lasted less than a year. Would use something else.
Problem solved! (What was the problem?)
you made a place where they can take pictures. but compared to the fact that you made a table, you worked a lot with it, and it's a very expensive design for a table..
Good idea but for me result is not great. You should try to hide metal parts inside and cover them with wood. Metal is cold and it will be much better to touch only wooden parts.
Metal is colder than surrounding air in the winter, but way hotter in the summer.
I’m hoping you’re 40’ from a Joshua Tree……it’s code.
Nice work no doubt, but not worth its purpose
And who exactly assigned you has offficial judge and critic of his project?
What's the purpose and it's worth? Perhaps the purpose is to have an aesthetically pleasing addition to his yard. Some people do that and are a little less concerned about the cost. Or, maybe it's just to make something that he can post as a new video. The video revenue will make up for the cost. Or, maybe, just maybe, it's a little of both.
please don't weld rebars. it significantly reduces strenght of steel.
Talk about overkill, but it looks nice right...
I usually love your projects, but I just can’t get past the swimming pool diving board vibe 😕
Buy some new clothes. You’re rich.
Good looking. Give us an update later in summer about the temperature of the steelframe!
