This drum line is absolutely unreal. I listen to this channel all the time when I'm working out and need an extra boost. This routine is one of the best yet! I'm literally getting teared up listening to it because it's so amazing.
I've seen lines get smoked before, but nothing like this. A&T got straight assaulted from beginning to end lol. Gotta put this one up there with the '17 LDC block as a instant classic.
MDFS is in my opinion the best i've ever seen. I felt i got gipped of some of their amazing performance by the camera switching. Please keep the camera front and center so us fans do not miss anything!
Bonafide agreed indeed! NSU Million Dollar Funk Squad = total musicianship, precise execution, immaculate phrasing, groove machine, phenomenal tuning, flawless stick & mallet heights. The D.C.I. groups won't dare challenge them because they can do ALL that the D.C.I "elitists" can do, BUT rhythmically stronger because the technical execution is the same while the grooves hit HARD!!
Nice editing...drum stick drop...but that's still the best show band line I have ever seen. Bottle that mojo and there will be a spike in births in Virginia.
@@patriciabaker4192 I bet it was awesome to see live. But must've been More awesome to be in it. I agree but this is a softer/legal version of a massacre.
@@quadplyr13 yes it was awesome to see it live. The audience was litt. I was sitting on the floor with the band. You should check out the intro for both bands. NSU's intro brought the house down. So A&T was playing catch up from that point.
I saw the whole thing. It was a tie until the end. That's when MDFU smoked A&T's drums. CS doesn't have enough technique to match up with MDFU. But, I was bored throughout with both until MDFU's performance at the end.
Awesome. Love the old school tuning. They sound like drums instead of cardboard boxes. One observation, though: When the tenors come downfield and put their drums on the stands, the stands are a bit too high, and they're missing their targets and catching rims. Either they need to keep their shoulders back and not hunch over, or they need to lower the stands a bit to compensate.
Richard Turner it was given back to him later during their percussion feature. Both were edited out on this video so no attention is drawn to him or the line as a whole.
I wish the legion would put as much of a recruiting effort into the band as they do the drum line. But when you have a drummer as the band director I guess this is the outcome. MD sounds and looks great. Meanwhile behold doesn’t even sound the same anymore. How’d you forget to recruit good trumpet players ?
I wish you knew what in the world you were talking about. You have no idea but MD never had to worry about recruiting and so his efforts is put towards wind instruments. For a band that's mostly freshmen I think they did a great job.

MDFS!!! Yes Sir!!! Honored to have once played in MD. Best Percussion hands down!!!
What an incredible drum line.....Smoke, Y'all are Great!---Every section has chops! Thank you so much for posting!

Daryl Ruffin MDFS smoked them in 2009 too.
@@legion2004 I'm piss po 04 also.. Who is this?
Very nice cymbal line work - great to hear and to watch! What a battery! Snares are amazing, tenors kill it and the basses - wow!
Saw this one in person!! Even for them, this was surreal. Goosebumps every single time I watch the video!
Even the cymbals went in lol💯
Had the pleasure of being present during this performance. It was everything you see here and more. The building was electric. Amazing performance.
these young people are outstanding pride I am feeling
The white sticks on the black suits/drums is a CRAZY visual
It's also a huge risk because the judges can focus on the stick heights easier! But obviously, this line goes beyond expectations...
It's even sicker w/ the white gloves. Their hands look like they're flying!
Tenors stole the whole show
Oh to be young again. Looks fun. Made me smile! Great job guys.
Precise, Precision, & A Class Act! Go Green and Gold and the gear is full swagnessss🔥🔥🔥
WOWOWOWOWOWO, ya’ll “OFF THE CHAIN”.......some real BAD ASSSSSSSSESSSSSES. WOWOWOWOWOWOW. Watching from Hawaii.
Daaaayum they spanked A&T lmaoo
NSU has got to be the best drumline in the country.
Ain’t nobody touching mdfs
Appreciate MD for not throwing drums and doing back flips like warm rust 😂😂💀
MDFS is in my opinion the best i've ever seen. I felt i got gipped of some of their amazing performance by the camera switching. Please keep the camera front and center so us fans do not miss anything!
System blue drums!!!??? OMG!!!
Best Quint section in all of the HBCU’s! They all come with hands ,and the whole drum line can switch over to different drum 🥁.
Man they ripped cold steel a new one
Cold Trash!!
Never pick up your sticks. It maginfies your mistake...the show must go on..OG-MDFS
Norfolk is Absolutely Outstanding ! Level of Difficulty is Amazing ! Hard Work Shows ! Finest Drumline Around !
This was intense! Excellent.
Wish I could like this a thousand times!
Doesn’t get any tougher than that 🔥🔥🔥.

Unless, of course, you are MDF$
Sheesh is all I have to say. Top to Bottom. Kept me waiting for he next phase of the percussion feature. Haven't seen MDFS like this in a long time.
Yooo, the snares went hard, the symbols went harder, and the quints brought the house down🔥🔥🔥🔥
I...LOVE...THIS...BAND! I saw one video and got hooked. Now I've subbed. 😁😁
That was awesome, even with the drop stick.

Amidst all the skill they retain and project the FUN that tight ensemble work can reward. And when they sway, there is nothing like them.
8:10 the rest of the band giving glory to God 😂
And still in 2924 this is the illest and sickest 6tuplet solo ever on a collegiate level.
You are the best!
Tenors on steroids

LOVED THIS!
🔥🔥🔥💪💯
YEEEEEEESSSSS
So good!!
Holy hell.
"Черным свойственно чувство ритма, белым чувство стыда..."©
This band is DOPE!!!!@
I hope the all black look sticks around, its real sharp
I hate to say it but their the best period hands down....
Basel Tattoo anyone?
(Edit: Would love to see these student-musicians do a collaboration with Top Secret)
Cymbal feature was the best part
I know the other school dressed in yellow is like" what the hell are we doing here??" Play those drums!! Play them!!
AS AN A&T FAN THEY GOT SMOKED ON THIS
Yessssss!
I bet the band director was happy. Mdfs did coldsteel wrong..
M$FS gave them a whipping they will never forget.

MDFU ? Who ? 🤣🤣
🤣🤣🤣 Stop lying to the public, they smoked Cold Trash from beginning to end. They cymbal players alone bodied them!
I was there. I don't know what show you watched. The Legion smoked them all the way except the flag corp routine was better.
I will admit that MDFS was better.
Go white boy, go white boy, go white boy LOL
Spartan Legion!!

Nuff Said!!!
Make that 13 HATN MFs...🤷🏿♂️
So fuck clean dawg😭. Much expected
😁
wow
Them basses r so water it makes no sense
Anybody know why he didn't just give dude his stick back when he picked it up.
Richard Turner it was given back to him later during their percussion feature. Both were edited out on this video so no attention is drawn to him or the line as a whole.
@@xyo383 and you're from where calling someone "sorry"?
They never do. They all have an extra stick in their jacket. Giving it back would've disrupted the whole line.

James Holthoff our Director has barely anything to do with the drumline. He doesn’t recruit percussionists. The line recruits itself.
I wish you knew what in the world you were talking about. You have no idea but MD never had to worry about recruiting and so his efforts is put towards wind instruments. For a band that's mostly freshmen I think they did a great job.
Norfolk State has 88 freshman's this year a lot of them are trumpet players.
You are the best!
