Hey Mike! Nice video. I also really loved the legato one you did. It's really fun but not as hard as picking each note up to speed. Have you ever done a video on harmony? If not I think I could learn it better if you did. You're probably the best guitar teacher I know of.
Maybe this is a bit late, but by "4th position," he means that the riff takes place starting on the 4th fret. 1st position = 1st fret 2nd position = 2nd fret Etc. The "position" signifies where your fingers are. For example: In 1st position, your first finger is on the first fret, the second finger is on the second fret, and the third and fourth fingers are on the third and fourth frets respectively. Hope that helps you!
The diagram in my magazine is completely different for figure one. It starts off with an F#5 palm muting riff. Anyone else have this in their magazine?
Watch his picking hand. He must normally play a Floyd Rose because at the end of most of his little show and tells he reaches down to grab a whammy bar that isn't there. Could be nothing, just an observation.
That intro riff is freaking amazing!
Good stuff. All super riffs.
Metal Mike RULES!!!
Please bring this back!
First riff sounds to me like variation of the Babylon A.D. riff - Bang Go The Bells. Awesome playing btw. very tight. Keep that coming!
Mike looks like a harder version of Yngwie XD
i need to make that intro riff my ringtone.....
