This one cuts deep. Had mental and emotional problems in my youth. I say that like it's all good now, which it ain't, but it was really touch and go, my last few years of high school...and the first couple years after high school. Anyway, I connect with a lot of bars on this one. Aesop has a way of painting a perfect picture of an emotional state of being. Brutal, but perfect.
'The nuances of putrefying jelly hit the levee when those feathers are a cancer in your bestie'...life puts death into perspective, when someone close to you dies. Camu died of cancer a few years before this record came out.
'Buried by a 7 year cherub in the backyard' is, I think, referring to a child holding a backyard funeral for a dead bird that the cat dragged home. Something of a childhood rite of passage...showing a reverence for life. A reverence that can fade if not maintained.
I love how he goes from scratching “impossible” in this track to beginning the next track Molecules with a sample that says “that’s impossible.” It makes me stutter step every time I hear it because I can’t help but think he’s continuing the song when he’s moving on to the next
I've been loving your Aes breakdowns! I'm here for them all! I'd love to see you react to one of my favorite tracks, "Gopher Guts"!! It's a must for a budding Aesop fan! There's also a lyric video to that one. ✌️
I always really connected with some of Aesop's more personal tracks like this. I had an experience similar to his second verse, but obviously I made it through and these days I know it's not the answer. Got 2 nephews who love me too much to put them through that. But there's something cathartic about hearing other people have gone through the same thing.
1:32 cats are evil lol To me this song is about AES rebelling against morality. He calls it a ruse and has trouble explaining his “selfishness” to a bunch of people that wouldn’t understand since they live according to virtue and vice while he looks at love the same way he does community service which is usually forced upon people. He thinks the rules were made up so he doesn’t participate. Inevitably he creates his own rules and disorder ensues
@@SaeedReacts. Have you listened to Gopher Guts? It's heart-breaking and hits extremely close to home. That and Sadistik's "Michael" will reliably make me cry.

I feel that, my friend! Glad you're doing a bit better. Stay the course!

Thanks for shedding some light on that.

Ooh! Thanks for sharing that observation.
I think you would really enjoy the whole Impossible Kid album. On your own time when you get a chance.
Dawg he has the biggest vocab of any rapper ever. Good luck breaking his bars.
His bars break me down 😅
I might be wrong but the cherub is a statue that the kitty left the dead bird in front of as a sort of offering.
Thanks for shedding some light on that.
I think it's about a 7 year old child burying a dead bird that the cat dragged home. Even giving it a headstone with an epitaph.
Brother this was a great reaction. In my opinion you are the best Aesop reactor, whatever that means.
Thanks so much! Very humbling!
devastatingly beautiful.. great recap
Some heavy stuff in this one.

Gotta any input on the chorus for Gopher?
Thanks so much! Will add it to my list. This one might be on it already, sounds familiar.
That song speaks to my heart. I love it.
That third verse...sweet coconut-crusted christ it's brilliant. Damn near made me cry the first time I heard it. Hits way too close to home.
Hah, ever since I saw your reaction to Aggressive Steven I wanted you to hear this second verse.
Incredible verse!
The beginning of the second verse my be my favorite Aes run.. which says a lot.

Glad you are still here, brother 🙏🏽❤️
I think he says "opid", but then again, I have seen enough mistakes in lyric videos to not care anymore. 🤷🏽
Damn! Cant be trusting these video's 😅

They scare me!
@@SaeedReacts.why would someone want to have one in their house? 🙀🙀🙀
Check out "whales" by hail mary mallon. Aes and rob sonic just have a great sound together. It's a fun track with a fun video.
The tone tho
This is terrible
Not in my opinion, but you know what they say about opinions.
This comment is, indeed, terrible. 😆
Hell yes, I've been hoping to find someone analysing his music. He's my favourite of all time.
Incredible lyricist!
