You're saying Watteau right. And I can't wait to see the finished cape, it looks amazing. Also, great cat! (JKR also hates cats - we should have twigged as soon as the caretaker's cat appeared that she was a nasty hateful person).
It looks amazing! And oh the struggle of liking HP while dealing with JKR and seeing the problematic stuff in HP in even sharper relief. I started listening to Order of the Phoenix again and yeah... the descriptions of Umbridge (and Skeeter) are super yikes, now. Yikes before, don't get me wrong, but way more so now. I've also started noticing the "not like other girls" thing WAY more. Always saw it, but now it's just inescapable. So, you know, she hates gender stereotypes except when they serve transphobic purposes, apparently. Ugh. As a Ravenclaw, caw caw motherf*ckers.
HA! caw caw indeed. :D When I first read HP I was a kid; I saw none of this stuff. It's so disappointing to know how much is just... in the air. But I'm glad we're collectively starting to see things like this so much better now.
@@BeQueerMakeStuff I'm in the same boat: my dog is named Luna because I was re-reading the Order of the Phoenix when we adopted her almost 6 years ago; I have the hard cover editions of the novels I read during childhood in a trunk; and my beach towel is a MF-in' Marauder's Map! I was born in '91, so by the time HP hit the US I was the perfect age for them & it engulfed my friends and I. We didn't have enough life experience to put her writing into the larger context of the 20th Century. We just wanted to go to Hogwarts.
Yeah! I think that's definitely something I'll experiment with. I'm... hopeful?? I can do it in a simpler way? But the curves are fairly dramatic so I might have to get out the scissors haha. :D Thank you so much btw! :D I'm glad you enjoyed it and are excited, too.
hey- so I found what appears to be a great pattern resource (haven’t bought anything *yet*) it’s a shop on Etsy called “how to books” and they have tons of PDFs on different topics each for 3.99$ and they have a bunch of pdf books based around “”””men’s”””” clothing. It looks like you’d have to draft the pattern yourself but it also looks like you’d get a step by step tutorial from the book
The last time I listened to the books, it was pretty striking to note how deadnaming Voldemort was a Very Good and Moral Action. Do we get to deadname Evil People? No, no we do not.
Really enjoyed seeing the conceptual phase of this project! Cant wait to see this materialize.
I cannot wait to see this actualized! Its so perfect
You are beyond sweet. :D I'm also pretty stoked haha.
This: Shows up in my recommended
Me: *incoherent screeching*
Haha! Bless :D your comment is pure delight
Oooooh, looks amazing. I love the shaping of the intertwined lace and serpents, gonna be so cool : D
I really hope so, I'm super freaking stoked to make it. Picking the insertion lace is going to be a fun task. :D
@@BeQueerMakeStuff Or..... you could knit it : p
This is awesome!! I love the designs and i found this video so calming it was so nice
Ah, this makes me so happy to hear. :) Thanks for taking the time to let me know. :D
How delightful! I love this.
:D Thank you!

Woo! Watteau for the win. :D
And oooof, good point on poor Mrs. Noris!! We should have known hahaha.
Your cats are SO helpful. ❤️
Aren't they just? Oh you opened a box? Let me get ALL UP IN YOUR SHIT. Hahaha.
Your cardi was pretty on brand too! Now I want to make a sweater with cables like the lace insertion
Omg that would be amazing
@@BeQueerMakeStuff not that I've ever done cables before, or finished a sweater 😅
Omg brilliant. I’m so excited about this.
:D thank you! I am too. :) I think it will be challenging but gosh I can't wait for the final outfit to come to fruition.
Oh I would’ve loved to have seen all the swatches
Drat I should have left them in haha. I cut it because I was worried it would be dull/far too long. :) Next time. (Thanks for watching!!)
@@BeQueerMakeStuff Thanks for swatching ;)
@@sallyw8684 ooooohhhh good one. 🤣🤣
I would definitely second this comment! Moar swatches! ;p
@@BeQueerMakeStuff not at all dull and very interesting to see how you made your decisions (in my opinion). Super excited to see how this turns out!
It looks amazing!

I wonder if little bitty darts in the insertion lace would be enough to get that curve?
Super excited to see this project progress, I believe in you!

I was having a really bad day and this definitely improved it
I'm glad it got a bit better but I'm sorry your day was so poop!! ❤️
This is amazing!!!!!
:D It makes me so happy to hear that you like it! Thank you!
This looks like its gonna be soooo cool! Super excited to see how it goes. Hopefully all being well, you should be able to shape the lace using steam
Oh steam is brilliant!! I hadn't thought of that thank you!! :D

I whispered 'fuck yeah' when I saw the cape
I love your design it looks so cool !!!!
