    THIS STORY:
An alligator, 4 to 7 feet long, dragged 2 year old Lane Graves under water in the Seven Seas Lagoon about 9:00 p.m. on June 14, 2016, at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa just outside of Orlando, Florida.
His parents tried to rescue him; the father was attacked by a second alligator. The victim's body was found nearby the next day, intact and drowned.

I can’t believe that some few people are saying that because there were some signs that the family didn’t sue and that’s why. Three comments I saw so far.
There are always a handful of people that have to take the negative road.
Do you really believe this people? Put yourself in this family’s position. Your two year-old baby son gets eaten by an alligator and “there’s a sign there”.
….and you are not going to sue? Because there was a sign.
    Are you kidding me?
The real deal is they could have easily sued for multi-millions of dollars and easily won with the public sympathy, news channels, etc…, Disney would have done anything to not have a court case - signs or no signs.
Disney’s brand is synonymous with “little kids”. Do you have any idea what the level of brand-name destruction would have been if this family would have sued?
I just can’t believe that some people just have to find another reason …and not just believe that this family probably was taking the highroad.
Sometimes peoples’ cup is always “half empty”. Sheesh. 🤦‍♂️

Disney may have paid out millions right to begin with out of fear just the “possibility” of them being sued. Signs or no signs…they should’ve had ANY place with ANY dangerous creatures, all gated up To assure safety.
Those poor parents- I can’t even imagine.
It made me sick when this happened.
      He’s with the lord now.

Hey Ron, here is my opinion, and I could be wrong but if there were signs posted do you think they would have let that baby near the water? I don't think they would have...Yes they could have had a major lawsuit and would have won . I feel that his parents even though they were heart broken knew it was a accident and it could have happen to anyone..This shouldn't be about if there were signs posted or why they didn't sue..It's about remembering a sweet baby that's no longer here...And just a FYI with all the canals and such surrounding that area it's very easy for gators to get in..

@@daunn8456 Very probable. I've lived in southwest Florida for several years and have seen them in lakes, rivers, streams, ditches and even a mud puddle. I live in a subdivision with 3 small lakes and we get alligators frequently. The snowbirds tend to freak out and have them removed not realizing that it leaves a vacuum that another(s) will fill. In a place like Disney World they try to keep the waters clear of them but it is nearly impossible to be sure. I felt sorry for the family when I heard about it, so hard to deal with.

      @Tlyna1952 3 месяца назад

@@jenniferhansen3622 It isn't really that scary if you use common sense. No feeding them, no going near water, especially murky water where you can't see the bottom and never walk a dog near the water. They are called 'gator chow' for a good reason, gators will attack the dog even if they wouldn't the human. However if you try to save the dog they will take you down. I've sat on my patio and watched a gator sun itself on the shore some 30 feet away but I would never be dumb enough to go nearer. I have taken pictures of them with my cell but used the zoom to stay a safe distance. I only swim in pools never in the lakes or rivers. No one in my subdivision has ever lost a pet or been in danger from a gator here because we don't play risky games with them but have learned to live with them. Once in a while we get an aggressive nuisance gator that has to be forcibly removed but usually they end up moving on due to lack of prey..

The animal made a mistake they didn't even eat the boy alligators aren't typically man eaters although they have before but if they were man-eaters they would have ate this little boy and there wouldn't have been anything left. Very sad and tragic story. Imagine the terror this little guy went through before he died-one second he was at an exciting resort with his family, the next he was in the water being eaten alive! His poor parents, the worst thing in the world is to feel unable to keep your own kids safe. Not suing Disney after that is the right thing to do, most of the time it is not worth it as big corporations have tons of money to throw at the case and drag it for many years and you have to keep reliving the worst day of your life every time you go to court-you are never going to get your loved one back, putting their money into a life-changing, life-saving foundation for other kids is a way more positive and beautiful way to remember their happy little boy, their beacon of hope. Yes they are everywhere. I live in a subdivision with 3 small lakes. Fortunately the water is very clear so one can see the bottom for quite a way out. We get gators frequently but some of our snowbirds don't get that you can't get rid of them permanently. Remove one and another will move in. Out HOA has few hard rules (thankfully) but one is that dogs must be leashed and everyone here knows to watch the lake when near and move away when you see one. No one has been endangered and no pets have been lost. I think if we had murky water like a lot of lakes here it would be a lot more dangerous.

Thank you for sharing Lane's tragic story. Every time someone shines a light on his life, I'm sure his parents are glad to know their son hasn't been forgotten & his memory lives on.👼🏻🥀 Suing a company is usually meant to send a message that they did something negligent & dangerous. Unfortunately,🐊 attacks are instinctual. I'm not sure any amount of money could ever fix losing their beautiful son.😢 Much like many other vacationeers who visit Florida and experience 🦈 attacks, they probably didn't think this could happen to them. I pray that Lane's parents & loved one's have a measure of peace & understanding. 🌹🕊

Ron thank you I remember very clearly I cried then I cry now I lived in Miami when this happened now in Tampa FL😭😭😭💔💔💔 so so sad. The parents should have sued for negligence and donated some of the money to childrens charities or anywhere but should have. How the heck not going to have signs up cautioning the visitors. Many don't know about Florida having Alligators in every body of water here😠😠
It was suppose to be only happiness and joy an innocent Angel taken away to soon for others negligence 😭💔 God Bless and give the parents strength each day it's not easy🙏🏻❤️😢

What negligence? Disney had signs up waring of gators and snakes. What more could they do? The family ignored the warnings and paid a terrible price.

I just can't imagine the nightmare this family has had to endure,.
See I'm from New York , the hotel made the beach look inviting. I too would have had no idea about the alligators. I'm not trying to sound stupid. I would have thought they had preventable measures in places by some of the resorts,, I mean why wouldn't there be fencing around or make it not so accessible, do you kinda know what I mean..
Not everyone is from Florida, not everyone knows the risks..
Rest In Peace to this beautiful little boy.

I've lived in Florida most of my lives and have come close to alligators a number of times. Most of the times, they're pretty mellow and usually wont attack adults. However on occasion if presented with the opportunity they do go after children and small pets. I remember the story about the Lane Graves attack and its so sad, but considering the number of gators there are in Florida and their proximity to people, both the attack and fatality rate are surprisingly low. With under 500 unprovoked alligator bites on humans reported since 1948 and around 30 fatalities.

I moved from San Diego in 1993 cuz both sisters lived in Palm Bay, 40 minutes south of Orlando. A little town without even liable transit system. I rode my 10 speed to Melbourne and back. There was an alligator once on the side walk of the boulevard, they can run about 40 mph. I evaded it. One day I open my front door a snake with red and black stripes was there. 3 months is all I lasted. I was out of Florida so fast. I'm so grateful that while I was at work my 8 year son did not get attacked going home from school. I still get anxiety just the thought.
Alligators are an endangered spicy but they have populated greatly and humans are endangered. Oh, my blessed Lord, how can people go there? And there are people that love their alligator living in their neighborhood ponds. Ugh.
May his family truly have the Lord within giving them peace and Lane, the beautiful little angle, may he be cuddled in the arms of Lord Jesus Christ. Amen🙏🎈🏉🍦🍭
