  • G-Scale First Ever Prusa 3D Printed 20-Axle 7'6" Schnabel Railcar Pulled by a pair of Bachmann BNSF Dash-9's on 11/18/23 - I had a vision back in September 2023 while on vacation to 3D print the first G-Scale Schnabel railcar, N-scale, HO and O-scale have them so why can't G-scale! I still have a few things to do to it like more decals and a brake wheel on each end of the bogey assemblies (I know, how forgetful can I be)! The total length from coupler to coupler is 7'6" long which to scale it is about 220' long with approximant 42" load deck or to scale it is about 100' long. This isn't the longest one out there in the real world, there is also 36-axle Schnabel's that are about a football field long! Both the flat cars in this video are 3D printed as well and the 20' container box too! The USA Trains Extended Vision caboose I refurbished to Kasgro colors and added body mount couplers instead of truck mounted. If you have any questions, put them in the comment box below!

      Thank Dave! I think I went overboard a little, but the vision came true because I just had to do it! Now where do I put it?

      Not sure about that but there is one 3D print Schnabel for N scale on eBay even a factory made one. Just do a search for Schnabel in N scale! Thanks for the interest and nice comment.!

    Can you say, "clearance issues" ? Looks like the railroad there saw them coming, . . . . Super neat car (and train).

      Thanks! I had to be a track hog for this train: the middle track to run on and the inside and outside tracks for overhang! Good thing there wasn't too many members there that day! :)

    Amazing job! Are the files for the schnabel and flatbed cars available?

    • @Asylum_Graphics
      @Asylum_Graphics  8 месяцев назад +1

      I was thinking about posting them on the PRUSA Printables site one day but kinda leery of it. There's a lot of after printing steps involved for the Schnabel. Like 7mm aluminum rods in between each flat load deck plus 1/4" steel rods in the front of the decks. If you are good at figuring out things and tinkering then you will do fine. For the flat cars I was going to post and the 20' container I was too on the same sight. I'll respond again once I do! Thank you for the interest!

      I posted it on the Prusa Printables page you can find at: www.printables.com and my ID is asylumph9 . I only uploaded the flatcar, container box and the wheel dollies for now, I still have to think about the Schnabel, it's so long and heavy it sags a little bit. But if you still want it to experiment with it yourself let me know!
