I didn’t know about diesels longevity when I was looking at the Excursion in late 1999. I only saw you pay more for diesel fuel. So I went with the 6.8L V-10 310hp 425tq I bought in December 1999 and still own it. 315,000 miles and have had no mechanical issues. Changed alternator, fuel injectors once and of course plugs. It has been the most reliable vehicle. It drives the same up hills whether I’m towing my boat or not. Wish I could post a picture, it’s beautiful. My son wants a diesel so I’m looking at reviews. He likes Ram Cummings and has been looking at D-max trucks, so expensive. Great video!!
Best trucks I’ve ever owned that gave me very little to no issues and ALWAYS got me home in no particular order: 1.2004 Silverado 2wd single cab shortbox 5.3 2.2019 Nissan Frontier crew cab 4x4 SL 4.0 3.1989 Jeep Cherokee Laredo 4x4 4.0
Really love the Hilux. A shame we don't get small pickup truck with diesel engines in north america anymore. Remember those Turbo Diesel Rangers in the 80's? They were pretty reliable. Oh, I forgot, Rangers at that time were real small pickup trucks with a big 7ft bed, not a fat & fancy suvs with a 4 or 5ft playschool box behind.
Fun fact about the Hilux. There was a war that was fought with and named after it. The Toyota Wars. Count Dankula did an awesome video on it and it’s a good watch! I highly recommend it!
Doesn't matter the engine if you abuse and tune it to death, it will fail. Bought an OBS 7.3 that was beaten up by the previous owners. It needed a new engine and I got rid of it. There's also plenty of 6.0s out there running forever that have been taken care of. A lot of the time it's not the engine, but rather the owner
My Fords. Never let me down. Current is a 2013 F150 4x4 Coyote 12th gen, it now has 220+++ miles. I put one water pump in it. That being said i also do all my own maintenance. I also do the maintenance when the recommended interval is due. Like now, the timing chain and sprockets should be warn, so before there is a issue or noise i will replace all the timing chains, guides and related parts. This way i will not face a costly rebuild if the chains jump time. Maintenance is key to longevity. I want this to be the last truck i purchase. And with the 26 federal mandate of kill switches in all vehicles, it might as well be.
Mitsubishi is a quality manufacturer? Not since the DSM days. Ever driven a Mirage 😂😂😂. Their diesels must be better, because nothing could be worse than their cars.

Also the Isuzu dmax
@@Spirit71-77 the newer d max is better, the older version they showed in this clip is alright but not great
Trucks, Trucks and more Trucks! I love my GMC. And it’s been around long enough to come back in style. That’s an Ideal strategy!
Great trucks!! LETS GOOOO!

Driving an 04 duramax with the lb7 and its got 100,674 miles on it. She runs like a dream
That’s nothing to be proud of unless it was a dodge truck 😂
my 7.3 now has 760,000km starting more difficult but still runs like new

I love the sound of a good diesel engine 😤😁🙌🏽
Same
I'm a big guy, and do not fit comfortably in the Hilux, but man, they are work horses and refuse to die!

IM EARLY!!!! FIRST LES GO.
Anyways love your videos! Keep it up!

Chevy duramax 09 lmm 350 k miles it’s worked hard towing heavier than specs call for . Been very reliable .
99 7.3 powerstroke
What do you guys think of the 2009 gmc Sierra 2500 4x4
Still driving my ‘83 300D Benz. That 5 cylinder just keeps on clacking along. It should last many more years, it only has 66 k.
Daffy should’ve specified if you doing if you’re on diesel trucks, the title is misleading

Wow that is some precise steering at 4:27 or so.
That’s Gm for ya
2007 duramax diesel probably the most reliable truck built
what about the diesel hilux from top gear?
I have an '06 LBZ. 253,000 miles and still chugging along. Rust is my enemy living in Iowa.
09 Lmm chevy 350k working hard every day
Wait, I had a 7.3 in my 88 F-250 with Banks "Sidewinder" turbo. Good truck, Noisy but good.
Hey it's yo boy MMMMMM Baby 😂
In UK/IRELAND the Isuzu SUVs are fairly common especially with rural folk.
Great list 👌
Its a cultural thing, but my Japanese friends pronounce it 'High-Luxe", not 'Heelix"...
Thanks for another great vid!
Firstly it’s called “High Lux(ury)
And the land cruiser 1VD is the best pick up in the world.
Did anyone notice the Car mechanic simulator game background lol?
Great video !! The “CHICKEN” “TAX” is why the Isuzu D-Max isn’t in the “USA” thanks “LBJ” 1963🤬
No 79 series landcrusier 1hz i6 or 1 vd v8 diesel ??
Speaking of the Toyota Hilux, Jeremy Clarkson and James May went to the North Pole in one.
Missed the Nissan QD32 & QD27 engine'd trucks.
You sure top gear didn't use the 2LT model?
You forgot the 2011-16 4cl VW AMAROK
I'm surprised the Titan didn't get an honorable mention due to the fact it has a Cummins
That cummins hasnt done very well and has a lot of issues.... case in point they canceled it.
The Cummins is the nissan is a 5.0 v8 not inline 6
The sprinters are trash. That’s why Amazon stopped using them. The 3.0 wasn’t horrible but they canned that engine already
We got Isuzu Fuego with 830,000+ Km on it 😅
I Know it's not a truck but the Benz OM606 IS THE DIESEL 2JZ😅😅
You forgot the land cruiser
He’s even wearing the frickin shirt. 😂
nice
Merica 🦅
The best thing that ever happened to ford was buying out international for penny's on the dollar n stole the stright 6 300ci and the 7.3
Nissan Pajero? naurrrrrrrrrrrr you can't do my Dakar winning boi like that
RSA 🇿🇦 depends on Toyota and Isuzu vehicles to get the job done ✅
I’ll take a 12v Cummins into the apocalypse
You forget Toyota land cruiser 70 series and fj cruiser
Mostly euro trucks… I wish America had some of the small diesel trucks they have
The Chicken tax screws the American customer you tube search chicken tax “25%” tariffs on pickup trucks not built in USA,🇺🇸 Canada 🇨🇦 or Mexico 🇲🇽
Dodge and Toyota
300000 miles? You know Toyota Truck just broke in 🤣
VW Amarok
Helix vs Hilux
It is not HEE-LUX, it is pronounced HIGH-LUX (Hilux) for High Luxury. The ROW (Rest of World) is LOL at your mis-pronounciation.
Cummins is my fav
Boo thought it was about ICE trucks
You mean petrol/gasoline powered trucks? I think they've done a video on that before.
Erm…. Diesels are internal combustion engines… Just not gasoline ones 😅
It is Mitsubishi Pajero not Nissan Pajero.
Mitsubishi is a quality manufacturer? Not since the DSM days. Ever driven a Mirage 😂😂😂. Their diesels must be better, because nothing could be worse than their cars.
deec
Nissan Pajero??? I know Nissan makes patrol and mitsubishi makes pajero.
Pronounce it as high lux not what you think saying
God forbid someone be different. He probably did it on purpose to get peoples goldfish attention
