This is what happens when you don’t have an actor like Henry Cavill making things difficult on the set.

This why I am watching a lot of Kdramas. The storytelling is superb. They can mix genres effortlessly. The Alchemy of Souls is a fantastic show that moves long at a cracking pace and gives us twist on twist.

I bet the reason that fight choreography is so bad in shows like this one, Willow and Rings of Power is because the 'REAL" fight choreographers in Hollywood were too 'toxically masculine' for the show runners....so they hired wimpy people with no experience to run the fight scenes.

Rings of Power, Blood Origin, Willow, I literally cannot tell these shows apart they are duplicates of each other. This is why shows like House of the Dragon stands out so much.

People seem to like it but I didn't. It was plagued by the same problems as S7 and S8 but it did have it's shining moments.
Still, the three shows mentioned above are literally one and the same. If i had to rate HOTD I'd say it's worse than the first 4 seasons but better than anything after that.
Fantasy makes it to mainstream with game of thrones. So excited. Woke cult takes over media and corrupts all things after to include 1/2 of game of thrones. Same thing with zombies. Wait my whole life to see zombie & fantasy mainstream only to get this crap. And my fall back scifi gets cucked too ....

All these adaptations make me cringe. They literally had a guide that told them exactly how to make a show, from the successful Witcher games OR the books themselves! But no, they had to do their OWN thing, they just HAD to fuck it up. This is what prioritizing THE MESSAGE over good stories and casting gets us.

I watched a tiny bit of the episode out of curiosity. I stopped watching when the guy tried to force himself on the waitress in the middle of the crowded tavern (totally unrealistic), just so the strong woman could beat up him and his friends. It's all so predictable.

The whole thing with Eredin makes no sense, especially of you follow the books and the games. They made him into a completely different character, and the same with Avallach

The greatest thing about this show so far from what I am seeing is how realistically "dirty/unclean" everyone looks in this world.
Actually it's quite interesting to compare this Michelle Yeoh vehicle to her biggest role - Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon - 20 YEARS AGO. That actually featured women's plights as a major theme. With her character and the young thief/princess dealing with their roles in a "patriarchy." Trying to do their duty even though it ruined their chances for true love. Food for thought
