Bullying should be deemed as a crime. I don't care what the excuse is and they always pull the "bully has trouble at home card" for some people, it doesn't excuse the damage and the pain they bring to their victims
It's human nature, and more broadly most other creatures do it. Can't just make it a crime lol, what's the punishment? A year in prison?

Poor Liam :( Dylan is getting just as bad as Mason, all the teens involved in this storyline are doing absolutely incredible
Yh I feel so bad for him but at least in Tonight episode Maria comforts her upset son
Help is there whenever you need it guys 😅
Wouldn’t say he’s “as bad” but he’s certainly not as strong as Liam. He is just terrified that Mason will start giving him the exact same treatment if he turns on him, and he is gently trying to suggest that they lay off Liam a bit. But he’s already been on the receiving end of the bullying so thinks this is the only way to avoid getting hurt himself, he’s just acting it up in front of Mason and his pals.
Still needs a good punishment for being involved and a very long and detailed apology to Liam about why he’s done it. If they stick together they’ll be able to stand up to him. Dylan knows a lot about him now, especially that he’s threatened Liam with a weapon.

All I had to read was "How to kill yourself?" and I just burst into tears. Having been down that road, and been very close to actually doing it, suicide, is one of the hardest things to ever get out of once you have your mind set on it. It also takes a very low form of humanity to get someone that close to leaving this planet.
Whoever is feeling like this, please, please, don't do it, you are worth 100000000x more than the people who are hurting you, make you feel. It might feel worth it, but it's not, trust me. Also, don't ever listen to anyone telling you how much of a coward you are for trying to kill yourself. You are not a coward, far from it.
You are a special person.
Having a friend who was close to suicide, I back this 100%. Although I do think this story from Corrie is extremely lazy, they did pull it off well with Aiden back in 2018, in fact I’d say that was the last well delivered storyline they’ve done
Yeah I know I was there too. This breaks my heart I think this is the point to raise awareness and to speak up! Poor Liam 😢😢 such a lovely lad.

Thank you for your kind words. 3 of my cousins unfortunately have succeeded in doing this, as well as a close friend. I've been in dark places many times, what has kept me going is a promise I made to my Mother. That I'd talk to her if anything is troubling me. She said she wouldn't cope if I had done anything. The other thing keeps me going is this quote I read somewhere years ago. It's a permanent solution to a temporary problem.
Feel so sorry for you Liam wish I could give you a hug

Credits where credits due, the actor who plays Liam is pretty solid! Which by corrie standards of teen actors is phenomenal
I’ve been down this road massively because I’m special needs and I remember in college I used to get bullied every single day for 2 years none stop and the pain from the bullying was absolutely awful I just couldn’t cope anymore so i tried taking my own life.
and unfortunately some people don’t even understand what bullying actually leads into they just do it anyways which is extremely sad they don’t seem to both what the end result is.
Theres a saying in life and thats treat people the way how you wanna be treated
One of the fundamental issues with Society is that those in power are often legislating and speaking on issues that they've never experienced or lived. In my opinion, more should be done to ensure all children have a happy, prosperous childhood and a good education, because almost all mental health issues, depression, anxiety, social withdrawal, a lot of people who end up on the 'scrap heap' with unemployment, lack of education and so on it can all often be traced back to their childhood in most cases. So much of societies ills could be solved merely by ensuring an good childhood for all.
As someone with ASD I've been through it all, I don't get bullied now (I'm 19) but from the things I experienced in my early childhood I practically have no friends and am very withdrawn and have those 'thoughts' everyday. People who say its 'character building' have never experienced it to any extent and truthfully its very likely they were the bullies. Most victims of bullying (and to be bullying it has to be persistent, over a long stretch of time, when people talk about this character building stuff its likely they were only targeted for a brief amount of time) are usually bullied because of characteristics out of their control, whether it be neurodivergence such as ASD or ADHD, social and economic class of their parents (which is usually indirectly the main contributor) or elements of their personality developed due to prior bullying or because of their physical appearance and it usually repeats itself even when moving to different social environments.
I know one of my friends from secondary school, he was bullied all throughout primary, all throughout secondary, when in College (we were on different courses) he wasn't bullied anymore but it had taken its toll, he was isolated, depersonalized, depressed, no confidence and honestly like me the only reason he was bullied was due to neurodivergence and socioeconomic class. Nothing to do with his character. He did well on his Level 3 Course but it didn't matter, no confidence to go to Uni, no real life experience due to being bullied out of every opportunity he had, he is now unemployed, isolated and no one will help.
Good luck
I'll pray for you❤
I've never been bullied in College. I hope your okay now, dude :)
There was a girl at my school, a few classes above me who committed suicide . I don't know what drove her to it, but this story line breaks my heart and the boys playing Liam, Dylan and Mason are fantastic young actors !

@@cawcreatorI know it’s just a storyline and a program. I am talking about the character in general. You do realise this happens in real life too.
I've also tried searching this up to very recently. A few week ago due to me being bullied alot at school, worst part was the bully was way stronger than me. Also he wasn't suppost to be at the sight of school I was on but he was kept back due to his behavior. Im alot happier now though because my school, finally got rid of him after 5 months of this happening continuously they decided to recently do something about it and he was sent up to the sight he was suppost to be on. Bullying needs to stop it has an affect on people and it had a major affect on me. I got depression, due to nobody willing to defend me when he started on me witch made me think nobody liked me and all made me think all my friends were just fake friends I felt suicidal and eventually opened up to my parents and teachers about this. It made me not want to go to school because I just keep on stressing over it thinking im going to get bullied again and i opened up to my teachers about this and they said that it wasn't right for me to feel this way and that I should want to go to school to see my friends. And yeah I might act like I dont feel this way about whats happened but i have adhd so i tend to get really hyperactive. I hope bullying ends one day and the world could go back to normal ty for reading. ❤
I agree so much

Why not grass on Mason then? Even if he knows your address than to off yourself. You're better off taking the risk of being harmed, especially if you have a hardman dad because then you have evidence against him. If he were to come to your home with a weapon, then he'll go to jail and you won't have to see him again.
Exactly
Exactly. The problem is that not everyone is willing to risk getting themselves harmed. Nobody likes the feeling of getting stabbed, shot or hurt in anyway.
“It F___ing Hurts!”
-Kenny/Mysterion (South Park)
You’ve never been bullied have you? Also being bullied is completely different to how it was before
Also I told my parents and I had evidence for the school who were informed but it got worse because of the whole snitches get stitches
Or only stopped when I stood up for myself when a bully made a crack about my dead brother and whacked her one. I was the one that got suspended. The bully didn’t get punished
Are you saying there aren't bullies besides Mason who might go after Liam?
Because he isn't thinking logically. When someone is feeling suicidal it consumes everything, you can't see a way out or any hope of things getting better. The point you are making makes sense logically but it isn't as simple as that for him
This really hits home! At the age 8 I attempted suicide twice and once at the age of 17. When I was 20 my brother took his life and I was the one who found him.Today I'm 58 happily married and very much happy to be alive.
You have to decide you want to live and be willing to do what it takes and sometimes it means be selfish and making some people unhappy with your decisions. If someone's happiness depends on me being unhappy then perhaps they're not worth my friendship.
8?! I’m so sorry to hear that. I really hope you’re recovering. ❤️🩹

wtf is coronation street
i struggled with an extremely similar thing when i was even younger than liam is. i felt lost, and i was so insecure just because of what people would say about me. i didn’t get threatened, it never got as bad as it did for him, but i really hated myself and wanted a way out. i turned to suicide. i was inches, seconds away from jumping off of a bridge onto a motorway, when i sort of realised what was happening. i guess to an extent, i needed an experience like that to figure out that nothing is worth losing my life over. i spoke to my parents, they helped as much as they could but in a way, fortunately for me, they didn’t go to the school about it. they still don’t know how close i was to killing myself. the bullying kept going for a little bit, until a few weeks later i came out as bisexual, and the bullies were actually really supportive, and ever since then i’ve had a boyfriend who really helped me through everything and protected me at school. i’m 16 now, we’ve been together for almost 4 years, and i couldn’t love him more. that lad saved my life, and i can’t do anything but love him no matter what. the main bully from back then is now one of my best friends, and he knows exactly what he caused, and i know how sorry he is. anyway, i’m rambling on, but the upshot of what i’m trying to say is that if anyone in a position similar to liam finds themselves feeling like he is in this, you absolutely MUST talk to someone.
Bullying is so serious and so unnecessary
When I was 11 years old, there was a boy from my class who came from appalling home circumstances. He would arrive at school unwashed and became a target. People would hold their noses and say they didn't want to catch his disease; even when he broke down in tears they laughed, I was the only one to stick up for him.
He left the school and I didn't see him again for four years, and I always wondered what had happened. We were reunited at secondary school and I asked him why he had left school before. His response broke my heart and even now as I am typing I am getting tearful.
He told me he tried to commit suicide.
11 years old and he tried to take his own life.
He didn't see a future and the only option he had left.
We hugged and he told me that despite all that happened, me not turning away meant a lot to him.
I have no idea where he is now, it has been 17 years since we saw each other but I hope he is happy, he really deserves that.
Bless you you are a good soul

This shouldn't be on the telly, showing children how to kill them selfs, I was bullied in school very badly, but i didn't want to kill myself I had my family that would always be there for me. I feel so sick an tired of these storylines on soaps. or the murders it shouldn't be on, it makes people think its okay to kill people.
What happened in the good old days like only fools and horses, L&H, Sabrina the teenage witch, classic old film and shows that showed no killing or bad words, Even games today have so much shooting and swords to slash people in the games, I mean as a kid I used to play sonic the hedgehog, Ecco the dolphin, super mario on the nes 64 and on the mega drive ... or puzzle games you used to play with the family on a saturday night on the table like scrabble or snakes and ladders, no killing or hurting anything. This has to be stopped.
I have seen toddlers in supermarkets on their parents phones, to watch a show or play games to keep them quiet. we didnt have nne of that, if we misbehaved, we was told to be quiet and if we didnt we get a clip around the earhole, we would cry and if we still did misbehaved, we had no pudding after tea and up to our room till morning, no tv, no games that was the punishment. Today kids get away with everything, want, want, want all the time. If they didnt get what they want they scream the whole place down till they get what they want... Rant over, sorry ... but it is all true
Shut up you are comparing a soap that is set around real life situations to a kids show and comedy. It is a soap job to raise awareness to kids wanting to end their lives because of bullying.
