The year is 20SF. Everyone plays Ryu at TAS levels of perfection. Because of this, the winner of the match is based solely on port-priority.

Eggreen I mean I'm sure they're friends, but it seems like there is some tension at moments. Like they have a slightly competitive relationship. Overall I prefer TK over EE. I feel like TK says more valuable stuff, and EE is more of the hype guy.

+ScizorTheOverlord skill cap is way too high for Ryu to be top tier. Part of being top tier is being easy to use as well as op.
Trela was actually pretty damn close to beating Nairo. His Ryu is on point. Overall though, hype set.
For those who don't know, Trela was a Lucario main in Brawl. Up until Ryu was released, Trela was a Charizard main in Smash 4. It's good to see his skill being fully utilized in a top 15 (probably) character.
I honestly think Ryu is top 6. He is a lot like ZSS in that he punishes like nobody's business. Plus he has a great match up v falcon and fox, thanks to his up tilt. Pikachu screws with him though.

Besides that, Ryu is one of the most difficult characters to control in the Smash series. It maybe looks simple watching this video, but I bet Trela is destroying his controller to perform these beautiful combo's. And yes I know this because I'm trying to be good with Ryu also.
Wow. It's been a while since I saw a Smash 4 tourney video. Games are becoming so damn quick, stocks need to go up.

+Sangwoo “KeimaFool” Shin It looks like it would but if you think about it, If both players are very very good and play professionally they won't fall in any smash attacks or fall for any spikes the players will be as patient as they like so they don't die quickly and if the stocks are brought up the game could go alot longer than expected.

Ryu's combos, for me, are just ridiculously hard to pull off timing wise. Anybody else?
Me too, I don't understand how to input a true shoryuken after down and up tilt so fast
scepkile Now you know how SF players are. They have to make fast as hell inputs for combos, even more so in SF4 with the inclusion of focus cancel combos. SF has hitstop frames, which means that you only have this much time to input a move after connecting one move in order for it to combo. So you have to have really fast reaction timing to actually pull that off with Ryu in smash.

scepkile It is for me tho, grew up with SF and I still play it. I currently play Dudley in SF4 and I must say that playing him kinda helps me know how to play Ryu in Smash since doing Jab or up/down tilts into Shoryu is the same as doing a Jab/Fierce into DP (Shoryu) as well as doing half/quarter circle inputs quickly.

+Nathan Banuelos Yeeeeah, no. I'm hoping stocks are pushed to 3 soon too, but that's not going to happen as long as Dabuz is around. There's also the fact that most recoveries in this game are completely free unless your opponent is someone like Sheik or MK, and even then, most competent players can recover against them. I think 2 stocks, best of 5 would be a better ruleset.
Why are you people acting like Dabuz is the main problem of camping in Sm4sh. There's way more people that camps harder than Dabuz in the Sm4sh scene. In Evo, there were so many campy Villagers and Sonic timing out the clock.
PLEASE let's push stocks up to 3. Two stock doesn't make any sense because rage, and we could just push the timer to seven minutes.

On one hand Trela proves Ryu has top tier potential, and on the other, I almost think Ryu is too good. His combos are insane, and he can confirm into that true Shoryuken in so many ways. I just
think it's a bit too strong for how easy it is to land and how safe it is in general. A nerf so it kills maybe 5-10% later might be good. I know Ryu takes the most time and dedication to master, but the reward for that mastery is a little OP imo.

There's still a couple characters that are better like Sheik and ZSS. If he ever gets nerfed they're gonna have to get it first.
+Reece Robin I main Shiek and I'm tired of people saying she needs to be nerfed. She has been almost every patch, and has trouble killing as it is. I know she has kill setups, but they are nowhere near as easy to pull off or kill as early as Ryu. She can rack up damage easy, true. But killing is what matters.

I've recently been starting to watch some SM4sh vids to become at least a little better and finally stop being a scrub, and I never realized how much hype Ryu can be. Like, holy shit. That first match.
That extended handshake though. Trela had to use his other hand like "alright buddy, get the hell off me"
Trela is basically the best Ryu main currently in Smash so he's the dude for aspiring Ryu mains to pick up from

I think that Ryu is going to join the top tiers eventually. He does so much damage, has so many safe options, has every kind of setup and movement option you could want, and his shoryuken is one of the best trump cards in the entire game. Trela does an amazing job at demonstrating the kind of power that Ryu has, and he's only going to get better over time!

+Markell Oree Shoryuken and boost kick is the same. Very good kill moves but if you miss, you will get punished. Nairo confirmed his boost kicks better than Trela. Even missing one at pro level is deadly. Still, congrats to Trela for an awesome Ryu.

+Endurrr because three grabs=death and there was nothing you can do about it.ZSS downthrow is very DIable and the ZSS has to make a DI read,the combos don't kill for a very long time and her grab is very punishable.Luigi had an easy time and the nado Atleast is a 50/50 mixup,ZSS has a hard time with grab kill confirms.

Trela is the most amazing player out there honestly. He's the top Ryu player and gets Top 8 at tournaments consistently. I think he's a lot more amazing than ANY of the other top players because he plays fast, at top level, and does way more inputs than any of the other top players.

Hmmm @9:39 is that combo for Ryu hard to pull off? It looks like A,A,A,A, (Shoryuken input). Is that combo hard to pull off? Are the elbows safe? From the outside looking in, that combo seems very easy O__o and way too poweraful.
only on fast fallers, but is still a powerful tool nowadays since the most high and top characters that are played are fast fallers. Plus you can screw it up and throw a hadoken when you first try.

Trela is a monster with ryu. but Nairo ZSS is so good at covering different options he changed the game when he started zoning. Playing toe to toe with Ryu is like going into the mouth of the Lion.

This just feels wrong to me. Ryu can hit you with just 4-5 attacks and then combo into shoryuken. That's all he does is combo into shoryuken for the kill and it's SOOO good. No other character is anything like that. This doesn't feel like smash to me (which is funny since ryu's the problem). Now look, I'm not saying ryu is overpowered and I recognize how skilled trela is. I'm just saying ryu does not fit into the game at all, at least not the way he's designed right now.
