Thanks again Winters, always love coming down to play you! For those interested in more pics, you can find me in the usual places: my tag is the same as here but with an underscore in the middle.
I think my favourite thing about the channel is the attention to detail on the scenery. Adds so much to these games. I can’t tell you the amount of times I’ve played on tournament style terrain made of plywood and completely unpainted and it’s just been miserable.
Another great battle report Winter! Very fun to watch, both armies look great. Just a couple of tiny rule mistakes that I think mattered quite a bit: 1) rapid Regen is in the fight phase, tank shock is in the charge phase. The carnifex that survived on 1 should be dead, and that probably would've saved the big ork tank for one more turn 2) I'm not sure I saw it right, but I think the tyrannifex overwatched while in combat? You can't do that, it's in one of the dataslates/FAQs or whatever they put out recently
An Ambull! It's like Billy Murray, you always think you'll never see him again and then boom! He shows up and steals the show. He's also super-friendly so obviously he can ally with anyone 😇
"Utøy" does mean 'vermin', though in the sense of parasitic bugs - primarily lice and fleas - rather than rodents. The etymology is rather interesting.
Thank you, I lived in Oslo for a couple of years and used my old dictionary to look that up, but meanings can be somewhat misleading sometimes. I reckon lice/fleas is close enough for me!
those O.G Genestealers in Spacehulk aound 89/90 were the start of it all for me, seeing those bad boys, then seeing the Termies they were up against. . .like catnip to a teenage lad!! So good to see them in such fine form on a Winters stream! the joy!
Absolutely agree, I remember seeing the cover of a friends’s White Dwarf 113 several months before I got into the hobby and being bowled over by how cool it looked
@@WoffbootPootleI absolutely love that they’re the more vibrant blue scheme that they were back then too, I think they went a bit darker eventually, but I remember the blue and purple being quite vivid, it’s such an iconic combo in 40k, awesome job!!
59:14 For future reference the Tyrannofex could not have overwatched the bikers. The Big guns never tire rule is locked to the controlling players turn. You’re one of my favorite Batrep channels. I always look forward to your videos. Keep it up.

I'm back Winters! Been lost in SC2 videos after my son was born. So happy to get back to enjoying your beautiful Battle Reports. DEATH GUARD and TYRANIDS!!
When the first time the Carnifex unit fought vs Meganobs, using the -1 CP ability from the Tyrant, playing Predatory Imperative could have been good, giving them Precision and maybe killing the Warboss...better to fight first with them rather than with the Tyrant however, because the Carnifex could have been out of pile in range, after casualties were removed. Nice armies and battle! Having not too much shooting from both sides made the game more interesting...
Man! Another nice piece. I know you make quiality stuff but how on earth do you get so many subscribers?! :) I get like 1-2 every months... Granted, I don't have this much good material. So hard to get started. Kudos to you, Winters. You've done well.
It’s called an Ambull and isn’t actually a Tyranid but a monster from the original Rogue Trader rule book that burrows underground. Because they rereleased a (larger plastic) model for it with the Blackstone Fortress game, GW have Legends rules for it that allows any army to have one as an ally. I used my original lead version because I love the old stuff
Im from norway! and im not sure which word in norwegian was vermin. But Vermin in Norwegian is "Skadedyr" So utoy, im not sure where that comes from. You can split it up with "ut" meaning out and "oy" is island in Norwegian! :D Never heard of High fleet Utoy before :D
I was aiming at utøy but that’s from trawling an oldish English-Norwegian dictionary I bought before my two-year stay in Oslo (ten years ago now). I’m sure I’ve missed some inflection of the word but I was keen to come up with some personal link for my army name and that still works for me, but I’m always keen to learn more
Hi Chris! That was such an epic moment, sorry to bring it up again! I still can’t quite work out how it happened - I think my dice rolled pretty much perfectly and then you failed pretty much every saving throw (and then the objective exploded)
