    I'm 62 & back then when Sanford & Son was on the air I would laugh my butt off at Redd Foxx as his insults ALWAYS made me roar with laughter. Just watching this brought back so many great memories. ❤

      When you think about it, they had to have been close friends to be able to insult each other like that for most of the episodes in the time it was on tv (1972-77). Had they hated each other for real it would’ve gotten really nasty really fast.

    This and All in the Family were my 2 favorite shows. I laughed so hard when on one episode Fred calls Esther Mighty Joe Young’s sister, mighty ugly.

    Redd and LaWanda were buddies in real life. They knew each other since Elementary School in St Louis. they both came up doing standup comedy ....mostly on the "chitlin' circuit". (Comedians could get away with "more" there)

    The chemistry between these two was magic. They were brilliant together and the audience loved them. I laughed so much and so hard! They will be missed. Kids today have not a clue about what real comedy is.

    LaWanda killed it on the Dean Martin Celebrity Roast of Redd Foxx. She even nailed old Dino with a few "Wino" insults. She totally got into character, and the crowd adored her. You can tell that she and Redd got along well.

    Redd Foxx's method for keeping Sanford And Son spontaneous was absolutely NO rehearsals. He knew what he was doing. His method surprised a few well established actors until they watched the results and agreed that this method worked well.

    We only used to have 9 channels on TV. Never mind 100, 200 or 400. We had more GREAT shows on TV then .... than we do now. THIS show was great.

    I love Freddie since I was a boy. I remember my parents used to sit and watch him and be in tears laughing. I'm always laughing, I think that's where i got my humor from.😂😂😂Sanford and son need to be replaced produced but with good actors just as funny as Fred.♥️💯✔️🤔

    Sanford and Son was great and gut splitting funny. The closest comedy we have that is as funny as them today is Qwan and Uncle Howard known as Choo Choo And Qwan on RUclips.😅

    This was truly one of the funniest shows on TV. The chemistry between Fred and Ester was perfect. In real life, though, I read they were the very closest of friends. In fact, the producers wanted to drop LaWanda Page from the show and Redd Foxx told them if they did, he was leaving too. That is true friendship.

    One of the best shows of the 70’s , my brothers and me were always watching Sanford & Son never ever watch other shows like the Brady Bunch . To bad it wasn’t on longer, never could get enough of Redd Foxx , hope he’s out there somewhere still telling dirty jokes!
