It isn't so difficult to calculate from miles to KM/H. 1 mp/h is multiplied by 1.6 and you have km/H. One mile is 1609 m roughly, without going into decimals.

Spoiler alert for the EQS SUV: It's HUGE! I've never been in a car with more space. The low floor just makes it soooo much more roomy than any other car. It's stupidly huge but feels really nice on the inside.
My bet: less cargo space than Model X 5 seater which is a shorter car by some margin. I hope to be wrong on this one. Mercedes packaging is more suitable to a modern villa than an actual road vehicle.

Hello Mat, I love the fact that you guys put the numbers in the screen however could you also start adding km also? I live in Sweden and I don’t understand miles, I’m always jumping to websites that convert miles to km.

@@davidknell9676 The imperial system is only for retarded US/UK kids who don't know how to use the metric system - no need to work it out for the people using the right system being used worldwide. Hilariously most US/UK kids are not retarded and know how to use both systems - as the metric system is used internationaly - but nobody outside the imperial system bubble knows how to use it, as it simply is irrelevant international.
Love carwow, but as a international channel with close to 7 million subscribers using the metric system makes much more sense (maybe additionally keep the imperial system for people like David, which don't have the capabilities to understand the worldwide used metric system). Using the imperial system always reminds me of a stone age man ...
Same where I live we also use km. But convering miles to km isn't that hard. 1 mile = 1.6 km. You can just do the maths in your head. At keast that's what *I* do and I suck at maths.

i haven't actually driven one but i sit in an EQS at the dealership and the hyperscreen wasn't overwhelming imo. i wouldn't mind that hyperscreen in my next car but it will not be an EQ*
@@Doa744 i don't doubt it's a brilliant system but i'd much rather have wood trim in the place of that passenger side screen. Passenger can always look at their phone if they are bored lol. Also the shaved corners of the main screen look really tacky imo.

Dude, thats perfectly acceptable for probably 80% of the people. If the other 20% want to wait, so be it. Mercedes couldnt make enough for everyone anyway.
The eqe 350 does 350 miles at 70mph. Thats 70 miles more than a tesla model 3 long range, which does 290 miles at 70mph. Here in this video he had the amg performance version, which does 260 miles at 70mph. Just saying.
So on the eqe 350 you can easily drive 4 hours at 70mph, take a 10-20 min break continue for another 4 hours. By that time you should hopefully be done driving for the day.

sure but what's a Tesla model Y cost these days. Which has better battery and possible better AI, better charging network, but lacks the quality, the comfort and the repair infrastructure if anything goes wrong.

In Germany, the Model Y costs at least €60k (with all-wheel drive and 80kWh battery) and the EQE (rear wheel, 90kWh battery) €70k.
But I would first test whether the Model Y really charges faster, the EQS has a very good charging curve even if the peak charge is smaller

American police are just lazy rather than scary. They only shoot you so they don't have to run after you. (especially no mercy for fast runners)

German police got very violent in the past few years - even before Corona there were plenty of cases where the police just went mad.
Even a special representative from the United Nations was send to germany to have a look at the demonstrations and how the police behaves.

My trip to the Lake District last summer I got 56mph. I live next to the M25/M11 and very little B roads when I exited the M6.
It’s better to go 55-60mph especially nowadays as that’s the best speed to get the best MPG

The 'Beauty' of all electric cars is a range anxiety, you just cant enjoy, relax and drive. No music, climate control or fast acceleration if want to get from point A to point B. Matt is good to show all aspects of car, well done to him.
That could be true for German car manufacturers as they're still trying hard to catch up. I charge my Tesla at home for a ridiculous price, enjoy climate, full Spotify access on a mega sound system, "smoke" all boy racers, all that with around 486km of range at 90%...

Electric cars are boring as fuck, they're quiet and aren't as fun as internal combustion engine cars. Most people including myself still prefer internal combustion engine cars.

Hey Mat, thank you for mentioning my indicators on my BMW. I didn't know until then what the funny lever behind the steering wheel was for and I accidentally bumped into it when changing to the right lane. When suddenly a light I have never seen before flashed three times next to my speedometer, my first thought was that my car is defective.
Isn‘t that the build-in party mode?
Oh, i always thought party mode was those extra bright headlights that you flash rapidly when you're really close behind another vehicle.

What would the range be on a 400hp petrol Merc sitting at 120mph? Be an interesting comparison.
An E class about 6km per L with cruise control. With a 65L tank it would be about 390km.
@car no that would mean the e class has a fuel consumption of 16l/100km which is absolutely wrong. You should have a range between 800-1100km depending on the roads.
@@j.r.5263 Who cares about the range of ICE - anything above 600 is fine, it takes 3 minutes to fill up and you are good to go.
@@j.r.5263 READ! The poster asked about 120mph, which is about 200km/ph. With a 6 cylinder E class, that would be about 6km per liter more or less.
In a 400hp petrol BMW I’m seeing around 10 l/100km at that speed. So range is around 600km with a 60l tank. Usage goes up if there’s traffic and it’s constant acceleration instead of cruising.
I quite like the look of it to be honest. It might become the new style with manufacturers chasing efficiency

In grey, it actually looks great full stop. I think it's because the way light reflects on the paint hides the strange proportions well. In blue though, it becomes readily apparent how aerodynamic focused the design is. The window line in particular is very very odd looking.

Yes.. If you're driving far on the Autobahn and there's not too much traffic, an electric car is just not yet a viable option… 😢
The EQS is quite efficient around 170 kph on the autobahn

EQE price is a huge disappointment to me. I was thinking this was going to be my next car but now not so sure. You could possibly get a base level Porsche Taycan or Audi E Tron Quattro for the same price…

Waiting for EVs to get out of beta. Battery tech is really primitive right now, lithium batteries are only at about 9% of their theoretical energy density limit at present.
Buy a Tesla and take advantage of their superior supercharger network.
Does this car have like a calculator at what driving speed is it the quickest to get to your destination taking into consideration recharging times?

Is that 215kph limiter just because it's a test car or is that actually the top speed of it? If so that's a bit silly considering a 2L diesel these days will easily crack that. Especially for a german car 😅
well it's electric after all, the energy consumption was already insane on those 215kph, if the limiter wouldn't be there it would run out of juice before it even reaches its top speed lol

@@MichaelVanBladel If you want freedom you'll have to opt for a Tesla. For 20k less you can have a Model 3 Performance that'll go 160mph - because Tesla knows their customers are smart enough to understand the consumption implications.
