Peel an egg without pulling your hair out.
Cold water and some shaking is all it takes for this hardboiled egg peeler to work. It’s a Made in the USA kitchen hero that conquers a dreaded chore sleekly.
Maker Bonnie Tyler signed up to bring deviled eggs to a party and-after a failed attempt at peeling-showed up with a bag of potato chips instead. After some prototyping and research at her local library, she cracked a solution.
Bonnie combined the elements of industrial peeling (i.e., vibration, movement, and water) to create something small, portable, and easy to use at home. That’s how The Negg was hatched. She even managed to get it manufactured in Connecticut, her own backyard.
Now you can de-shell your eggs with just cold water and a little bit of effort.

I know a lot of you are hating on this but my grandma has really bad arthritis and she loves hard boiled eggs for breakfast but it takes her forever to peel and this is better than a glass jar for people like her because if she drops it, it won’t break and she can’t accidentally hurt herself with this.
So, use a plastic jar...
Clean out an old peanut butter jar.
Gonna order one now! I eat 3 every night I work, 12 a week. I've also learned the fresher the egg the harder it is to peel. And changing the Ph can help, either baking soda or vinegar in the water I boil in.
I am here because i was trying to solve the problem as well. She beat me by several years. Good for her. Not every simple thing has been invented yet.
If you have an instant pot (pressure pot) the eggs peel perfectly every time. Set the instant pot on high pressure and set it for 7 min, when done do a quick release and put eggs in cold water NOT ICE BATH. Wait a bit and then after cooled they peel wonderfully.
Bonnie Tyler: It's a total peeling of the egg.
Bought mine from The Grommet - LOVE IT! They work!
You wasted money on something you already have!
You just put a lid on the pot and shake, or transfer the Eggs to a container with a lid and shake, and instead of doing 1 Egg at a time, you can do multiple, I do 6 Eggs at a time, takes a max of 10 seconds to do!
Been doing it for many years, and it's actually a competition / sport in countries like Japan 🙂
Bonnie Tyler's royalty cheques must have dried up. To be fair, I haven't heard 'total eclipse of the heart' on the radio for years.
Steam them! Guaranteed to work on even same day eggs
A mason jar 1/4 full of cold water will do the same thing!
But we need more gadgets Fill up the storage space!
I need one to put next to my banana slicer.
But you still have to pell off the Shell and for some people it’s hard
@@lathafalls7675 If you're doing it wrong... Elser peels are pretty much fallen off, if:

I loved that my opinion changed. It's the little things.
If it works so well, why do you keep cutting the footage before she peels it? 1:22
Probably cut it so it would fit the time of the voice over...
It doesn’t cut off the footage
A little glass jar some water = saving $15.00 bucks
I just use a jar with a little water in. Boom
Week old eggs, 1/4 cup of vinager in the boiling water. Ice the eggs right out of the pot. Shells fly off.
Dayum
So basically put water in a Tupperware and shake. No need to buy a cup
Just received mine!🙂 🥚
You can do EGG-xactly the same thing with a half-pint canning jar... and it doesn't cost $18!
Take a glass, put some water and egg. Put one hand on top of glass and shake it. It does exact same thing.
Great idea but I’m doing something wrong apparently. Mine ends up either destroyed or in teeny tiny pieces that take the eggs white with it. Tried two different eggs ended up with about half an egg to eat. Shrug.
White eggs peel more easily than brown eggs!
Nice,,,😮
From the makers of the banana slicer.
Try breaking an egg into a cold glass of water. Microwave until just before it reaches the top
You can do the same thing with any glass jar and some water in it for free.
Looks like the inside of the jar has nubbies on it to help crack the egg though right? Your jar at home wouldn't have that right? Plus your free jar doesnt help Grandma pay her house off!.
@@clintcordero The smooth glass of a pickle jar is sufficient to crack the egg and I'd rather pay off my mortgage than someone else's.
How is this any different than rolling it in your hands after wetting it? Is that really a problem for some people?
yes, the elderly and disabled folks.
COLEY FOLEY SINGS: "HE FOUND A HERO....!" HAHAHA! ("ONCE UPON A TIME I WAS PEELING A SHELL, BUT NOW IT SIMPLY PEELS RIGHT OFF, NOTHING I CAN SAY, UH... THE INCREDIBLE, EDIBLE, EGG"... HAHAHA!)
Did she actually sell that? Some Eskimos bought ice? I threw away so many glass jars that I could sell them to her for 5 cents each.
They are $18 on amazon and with positive reviews...
Ice cubes in a jar will work
get a plastic cup with a screw on lid, add a few polished stones and voila! no need to reinvent the wheel for everything.
I invented this when I was 15 yo. Just kidding. Rubbermaid did!!!!!
I used a small Tupperware and did this. 🤦🏻
Somehow I don't think this will work on eggs where the white WILL NOT let go of the shell.
if the white will not let go of the shell you are cooking them wrong. more than likely you put the eggs into cold water. if bring your water to boil and then add the eggs (slotted spoon or strainer) they will not stick to the shell as bad. alternately you can put the eggs in the pot first and then pour in boiling water (i use a kettle).
I got one of these for Christmas. I hard boiled a batch of eggs and I peeled several right after cooling and the device worked great. After a few days in the fridge I tried using the device to peel the eggs cold and it failed completely. In fact, the eggs were very hard to peel at all, presumably because they were fairly fresh eggs (older eggs always work better for hard boiled eggs). When I do more, I plan to try putting them under hot water for a minute and see if that doesn't help.
Did you actually try this or are you just guessing that it won't work?
Or just add baking soda to the boiling water
What does that do ?
Wth! I'll just put my hard over the glass and shake , thanx
I was gonna invent one and I found this 🤦♂️
Or just use a mason jar with a lid put some water in inside and add a egg and shake
The technique is a great idea. No real reason to buy a container just for that tho..... I've got cups and jars
If you steam the eggs instead of boiling the shell slides right off in your fingers.
I was going to share that bit of information, but you already did. Steaming eggs is far and away the best way to hard cook an egg. It's a great little kitchen tip that few seem to be aware of. I have never had an egg that was hard to peel when it was steamed, and it doesn't matter if they are fresh or not. Also, it is a time saver. It takes less time to bring a small amount of water to boil for steaming than a big pot full to boil.
Amazing! It's a jar, just like any other jar. But not just some old pickle or peanut butter jar, which would cost nothing. This one costs about $18.00. Really?? There are actually people out there stupid enough to fall for this scam?
Why need peeler? Just add salt when boiling easy to peel
Who else came here thinking about neopets like I did?
Most stupid invention ever ,and this cost $18 ?
This is stupid and my father has arthritis too - just use a blinking glass or pot
Crack the rounded end of the egg before cooking. Peels easily.
