I was emotionally charged during watching this movie. Could not stop my tears. This war brought bitterness and tragedy on both side. Good effort of documenting historical event
Fabulous movie about a very under-reported naval tragedy. I was very impressed by the strong acting and highly historically accurate sets. Thank you very much for making it available!
Thank you for posting this movie! Really enjoyed it! First class acting and script. Reminded me of the classic war movies the British used to make back in the 1950s.
Rolf witte Mfg.
Germans and Russians make some of the best war movies. Thanks for showing it. I just wish the sons of bitches that cause the misery would have gotten their just deserts.
The ship was used later in the war as a U Boat crew rest ship. By the time it was to be used for the evacuation it's engines were in poor condition from sitting at a dock and many parts of the ship were used for other ship's salvage.
Meine Großmutter und ihre Familie hatte sich kurzfristig für einen anderen Weg der Flucht entschieden, sonst wär sie auch auf der Gustloff gewesen :-( #FCKWAR
At about 17: 00 on November 6, 1941, the ship "Armenia" left the port of Sevastopol, evacuating the staff of several military hospitals and residents of the city. According to various estimates, there were from 4.5 to 10 thousand people on Board. The last flight of the "Armenia" was led by captain Vladimir Yakovlevich Pleaseski. On the ship were several thousand wounded soldiers and evacuated citizens. Personnel of the main hospital of the black sea fleet and a number of other military and civil hospitals (23 hospitals in total), as well as the leadership and staff of the pioneer camp "Artek", their families and part of the party leadership of the Crimea were also loaded on the ship. Loading of evacuees was in a hurry, their exact number is unknown. At 2:00 on November 7 the vessel arrived to Yalta where took on Board several hundred more people and a certain cargo. At 8:00 the ship left the port. At 11 hours 25 minutes, the ship was attacked by a single German torpedo "Heinkel He-111" belonging to the 1st squadron of the air group I/KG28. The plane came from the shore and from a distance of 600 m dropped two torpedoes. One of them hit the bow of the ship. After 4 minutes, "Armenia", sunk at the point with coordinates 44°15' North latitude. 34°17' e HGЯO (coordinates approximate). Officially, in Soviet times it was believed that about 5 thousand people were killed, at the beginning of the XXI century estimates increased to 7-10 thousand people. Only eight were saved. The "Armenia" disaster in terms of the number of victims is one of the largest in the world history. ____________________________________ the Germans first began, Gustlave was hosted by the school of German submariners 2000 people
It is a pity for all the innocents who died on that ship. And for the innocents of Europe who were victims of the Nazi Germans and their Fascist Allies.
A watchable little movie that follows in James Cameron`s "Titanic" footsteps with a romantic drama tacked on to an event which, God knows, is dramatic enough. It seems to have been made for German TV (I love at 1.13 the sailor who shoots himself at point blank range with a Luger without any blood spatter). Fascinating movie nonetheless. Thanks for quality upload.
Insisting it was a passenger ship is a bit unfair. Germans started killing civilians in the war first. That resulted in German civilians becoming valid targets. The people who were trying to escape did have a choice. They could have surrendered, to the Russians. But they tried to escape and got killed. Oh well. They were neither innocent, nor was this a disaster.
So very few people know about this. Thank you for making the movie.

Very touching film. Anyone who can't feel anything watching is inhuman. I'll recommend this film to everyone.
Good movie, sad, moving. I actually was not aware so many people had died in the sinking of the Gustloff.
Danke für das Upload!!!
Wow! This was really good!
Thank-you so much♡
good movie sad but good cant believe no one has commented on it.
An excellent film which depicted the fate of many refugees trying to escape to the west.
War is terrible. Very sad and scary film.
Hallo Tom. Ein tolle Film und sehr realistisch. Daumen Hoch.
Why aren't English movies made in this quality?
The Wilhelm Gustloff was like the Dona Paz a ship from the Philippines 🇵🇭 it had 4000 people but 24 survive
Thank you.

This is absolutely a tragedy! But you cannot blame the Russians, that ship Wilhelm Gusloff was used as a warship by the Kriegsmarine!

Good movie.......love from India.

Incase the Minesweeper can pick the survivor when the Wilhem Gutlsloff sink too.
Watch this excellent film about a True Tragedy that cost the Lives of thousands of Refugees in World War two.

Many try - few succeed. Think about - James Cameron's Titanic.
Vilsmaiers Gustloff - well. Great CGI - but all these cheesy dialogues. Come on...

I stopped watching after 4 seconds.
" The Third Reich declared war on the world"
In wirklichkeit hat Hitler seine letzte Rede (ausnahmsweise mal) ganz ruhig gesprochen.
Damn those Russians,,always shoot down a civilian machines,,but suck in actual combat with foes.
What a shitty film! But what can we expect from the Lügenpresse... While the theme, the tragedy of the Gustloff would be really important to portrait.
Hi hi
