    Getting rid of Kuzmenko for a rental player was the biggest mistake we made recently. The team was not the same after Kuzmenko was gone.

      Kuzmenko was a defensive liability. His offense was down before he got traded. If you pay attention to Calgary you would notice that Kuzmenko had been getting scratched and most of the content creators over there were saying the 'Kuzmenko experiment' was over. Reality is as a top 5 in the league paid player, Petey needs to be the driving force on his line.

      @@krazymyke1526Tell me what does that even mean? The Canucks cannot score. PERIOD. You tell me how to win games. With goals? Or with defensively minded plugs? You can repeat the tired old lines that I heard from "Canucks" zombie fans but you are too stupid to see what the Canucks management's systems have taken talent out of the formula and said "do what our system entails" or gtfo like Kuzzy had and was shipped off because of it.

      @@krazymyke1526 He was plus 9 in is first year with the Canucks. Defensive liabilty? LMAO. Tocchet tried to change his game and then that's when it started going downhill for Kuzmenko and still Pettersson was playing well. Then around after the trade, Pettersson started to suck. Yeah, 39 goals and 74 points in his first season was a problem so the coach thought he needed to change his style of play? HAHA.

    I think everyone needs to take a step back and stop looking at 2-3 players. Look at the team as a whole and make an objective assessment of the team as a whole.
    Are they playing the way they’re coached or is everyone just playing badly? If the team is playing well except for one or two players then deal with them.
    Coaching should be adaptable to the skills of the players and draw out the best out of everyone. If all are playing poorly with no emotion where does the problem really lie.
    As I said look at the big picture and not individual players in this situation.

    Desperate times often call for desperate measures, and I believe that giving D-Petey a chance to play for the NHL Canucks is partly due to the desperate need for the Canucks for help on the blueline that they’re not likely to immediately find via trades with other NHL teams.

    If Pettersson wants to play like a 3rd line forward, I don't have any problem putting him on the 3rd line. DeBrusk will have a better chance of scoring with Suter passing him the puck than Pettersson doing whatever Pettersson is doing out there. DeBrusk is a sniper, but lately he spends his shifts trying to dig the puck out of wherever it ends up because nobody can give him a clean pass to save their life except Hughes. Passes right now are to an area where a player might be and result in a puck battle instead of a rush or scoring chance, because the puck lands nowhere near the nearest player or in their skates. They either need a few full practices on passing drills or label their sticks "Hold at Other End" on the stick blades.

    I'm not in love with petey's work this year, but controlled entries seems like a broken stat when your D line can't make a break out pass....

    Just trade Petterson to the Red Wing. That would make me happy and give us a true 2nd line center.

  • @ColourizeTheStreets
    @ColourizeTheStreets 5 дней назад

    Pettersson leads the team in controlled zone entry, therefore he deserves more opportunity? But who is the worst? Sherwood. Does that mean that Sherwood should get less opportunity? Advanced stats are nice, but statistics can be easily manipulated or presented in biased ways to make a point. Petey has the skills to enter the zone with control, but right now im noticing a lack of creativity to make good use of the zone entry. I also notice that he struggles to maintain possession of the puck during offense zone cycles, he also isnt beating guys one v one on the rush to strike quickly after entering the zone.
    Maybe its confidence, maybe its the fact that he was so talented that offence came too easily for him early in his career that he never learned to generate offence without relying on natural talent. The Sedins werent fast, they didnt beat guys one v one, they werent that athletic, but they learned to read defenses and find the soft areas, to exploit a teams weakness. I dont see Petey using his skills to their full potential right now. Im hesitant to trade him, because he has skills you cant teach, its just a matter of him learning to take full advantage of those talents, which may or may not happen. Coaching goes into it, but personal responsibility and the desire to learn and improve are most important. I hope he turns it around and finds a way to break through the turmoil, but man things have been rough lately.

We all see the dump and chase style ( I hate it ) and now Tocchet says EP is not controlling the puck on entry ( leading theam last 4 games ) so he is on the 3rd line ????? WTF Coach .... Thats a terrible way to help a star out a slump 👎👎👎👎👎👎

    how swede it is! petie is putting out 3C production so maybe that's where he should be slotted. smart really. maybe if he's playing against bottom 6 opposition he might just do something. if miller mails it in again tonight,
    ruthervin should call everybody. get a 1st round pick and a centre prospect for miller. if he turns down the trade put him on waivers and get him the hell out of town.
