Handheld tally counter, good hiking socks, good ankle brace if u have weak ankles, highliters, sharpies, multi tool, a good stainless steel fishing pliers tether for your keys, and a couple handkerchiefs wouldn't hurt.

@@christian5525 as of right now I have only done U/A drug test. Of course I was clear , also passed/clear the medical 🏥 exam. Passed the back check very fast . Just got my Physical Ability Test to do in 4 days, less than an hour ago they moved it a day early, maybe 🤔 it’s a good 👍🏼 sign.

@@christian5525 the line where I type “Pass the back test….” I meant passed the background check. I always applied for BNSF but I guess I wasn’t their type. But I am grateful 😇 I got Union Pacific Railroad 🛤️ process going and feeling good 👍🏼 about it. Union Pacific Railroad 🛤️ & BNSF Railway are the 2 big boys on the block , I am grateful 😇 I got a conditional job offer, been passing & clearing one test after another. Grateful 😇 for a new challenge after a long previous challenging 👮🏼‍♂️career. You should apply Union Pacific Railroad 🛤️, they got many types of jobs that can lead to a challenging career with great pay 💰 & benefits.

Add a break away lanyard for the mic. Some companies don’t like them that’s all I used in my career and they made radio usage tolerable.

Agree, i suggest don't buy anything new until you know how (what) you need or want. Thrift store can find great back backs and in expensive clothing until you learn how and what you need. Also Pencils! pens don't work well on wet (soggy) switch lists.

Do not EVER use ANYTHING other than a railroad latern for sigaling the Engineer. They are designed for this porpoise... remember the spot light is for you the ring light is for me! Dont shine the spot in the Engineers mirrors!

Goid rain gear. Not the cheap plastic stuff.. You'll sweat wet just as much as being in the rain.
