Good operator. I live real close to a CSX main line and see when they drop train loads of continuous rail . Then ties n plates spikes ballast . Then track crew comes through n puts it together . Cool stuff.
Dave, Great video! Awesome truck. He is a good driver to place the truck just in the right position to put it on the rails. He is super with the boom. Thanks for taking us along today! Take care.
A good operator can make that grapple work ! In the 11yrs i operated 2 different type trucks and made it work with 2 different type grapples ! You just learn to work with what you got ! Remember safety frist always !
I've seen some pretty poor guys run these trucks and some excellent operators, you can tell pretty quick which is which as you well know. I don't know anyone that likes the grapples that has the 2 curved forks on one side of them, but like you say, work with what you got. Very much appreciate your checking out the movie today my friend.
Nice Jonathan, hope you get a new one soon! But those older trucks without the DEF are much more reliable from what I hear. Do appreciate your taking the time to watch and write in my fellow railroader.
It's very first trip out of the factory was to our place. I got lucky to see it brand new here and I got Lucky to be the one to drive it...LOL Thanks for tuning in today my good friend.
You are using some beautiful equipment! Even the truck doesn't belong to your company, it is great to see the equipment is kept up to date. Thank you for sharing Dave!
You are welcome Raymond and it was my pleasure to share. This is the 3rd new grapple truck Frontier has bought in the past year. They have all kinds of work out there and these trucks are vital. They will pay for themselves many times over in their lifetime. Really appreciate your checking out the video today my friend.
That is one nice truck!!! Licking your chops 😋 and wishing Santa 🎅 would have one for your Stocking this year 😉. Hydraulic tool 🔧 plug in ports on the rear is the icing on the Cady. Oh, how we wish... Great turnout at National Pike Gas and Steam show. Brian Williams wishing you were there. Save time for August when we're building the switch on the mine railroad. Stay safe. Richard Bause
A guy can always dream Richard. Maybe someday I'll get a brand new truck although my hi rail truck I have now was brand new 18 years ago. Glad you had a good time, when I retire I will once again be able to attend, it was always a great show. Thanks for watching today my good friend.
@@ccrx6700 18 years old, as one could tell it's just broke in, but at least it's not broken. Alot of the Railroads in the 70's & 80's wound up with those Grumman inspection trucks with their big box cabs. Rode hard, electrical nightmares, froze your butt off in the winter. Alot of short lines had these trucks for years as MOW Equipment well into 2000. Still to this day, you can find these old girls tucked away at a few tourist Railroad Museums. I hope you get a new one soon, but I think that the Railroad will get newer engines before your wish would be granted. Come to the show in August my friend. Brian would like to see ya and together we can build that switch. Stay safe. Have a good night 😴.

Great video! I’ve seen high rail vehicles before but this is the first time I’ve ever seen on actually go on the rails abs the wheels below it lower onto the track. Have a great day!!
Thank you very much Johnathan. I've had many requests over the past year to have a video of how a truck gets set on track and was glad to be able to make this one for you guys. Even more special was it was the first time, now that is a once in a lifetime opportunity to do that! So appreciate your tuning in and checking out the channel tonight my friend.
Another excellent video! I've seen the Hi Rail trucks mount and dismount the rail many, many times on the Elkhart camera but seeing the controls up close and personally like that is completely new to me. It's always amazing to see how smoothly someone who works with a truck like that so frequently is on the controls. Thank you for sharing!

There was another railroad video I watched where the guy gave smart advice to putting these trucks on the rails. Always the back first so you still have steering putting the other end on.

Take care.
Golly thank you so much Tom for the very nice comment. Very
positive and upbeat. We do so appreciate your tuning in to the
show today my friend.
A good operator can make that grapple work ! In the 11yrs i operated 2 different type trucks and made it work with 2 different type grapples ! You just learn to work with what you got ! Remember safety frist always !
I've seen some pretty poor guys run these trucks and some
excellent operators, you can tell pretty quick which is which as
you well know. I don't know anyone that likes the grapples that
has the 2 curved forks on one side of them, but like you say,
work with what you got. Very much appreciate your checking
out the movie today my friend.
I operate one of those, it’s nice to see them brand new.
Nice Jonathan, hope you get a new one soon! But those older
trucks without the DEF are much more reliable from what I hear.
Do appreciate your taking the time to watch and write in my
fellow railroader.
Great action shots there Dave, that truck popped its cherry on your rails. 🤣🤣 man the chrome didn't even have a spot on it.
It's very first trip out of the factory was to our place. I got lucky to
see it brand new here and I got Lucky to be the one to drive it...LOL
Thanks for tuning in today my good friend.

You are using some beautiful equipment! Even the truck doesn't belong to your company, it is great to see the equipment is kept up to date. Thank you for sharing Dave!
You are welcome Raymond and it was my pleasure to share. This is
the 3rd new grapple truck Frontier has bought in the past year. They
have all kinds of work out there and these trucks are vital. They
will pay for themselves many times over in their lifetime. Really

A guy can always dream Richard. Maybe someday I'll get a brand
new truck although my hi rail truck I have now was brand new
18 years ago. Glad you had a good time, when I retire I will once
again be able to attend, it was always a great show. Thanks for
watching today my good friend.
@@ccrx6700
18 years old, as one could tell it's just broke in, but at least it's not broken.
Dave, the crane operator (lucky) appears to be absolutely excellent - I'd expect no less - the best of the best work at the CCRX! Take care, Dave.

Have a great day!!
Thank you very much Johnathan. I've had many requests over

Awesome Brenda, really pleased to hear you were excited.

Thank you very much DietSeth for you very nice comment.

Nice piece of kit! Rotobec makes a great loader
Seems like Rotobec gets on a lot of new grapple trucks anymore,
used to be all the trucks had Prentiss, haven't seen on of those
