Makes me wish I was a PC gamer. The sheer amount of tactical options and control is amazing. Having someone with actual tactical experience play through and describe his actions is a huge plus. Other videos I've seen uploaded are just people running in on FA and playing it like COD. This game definitely shines with a realistic tactical approach
hey for suppression i feel u could add a suppression meter like games that have the basic one but for realism also add different tactics they can use to combat being pinned on a random dice roll. then depending on if there is a leader type, even more possibility. make it be able to be seen or hidden, then its almost perfect
I know it's not meant as such but watching you play through and explain your reasoning for your choices etc is the best tutorial I've ever watched from an actual operator on this type of game. It has improved my overall gameplay of all genres of 'Tactical' gaming from VR to straight FPS's. This is precisely why I watch your content and have never been disappointed. I would love to hop on a VR game with you one day and get some first hand knowledge. Keep up the good work.
Operator is a meme word that no one in the know uses. It's why Ukrainian Army and Naval SF call themselves gopro operators. It's tongue in cheek. Just go out and move and shoot. You won't look like FOG guys by learning theory. You will be shocked how unintuitive it is to move your platform while maintaining your upper body control. You learn basic battle drills in a day, getting the muscle memory is the only thing that makes you proficient, and that takes repetition.
Actually surprised there's not a bigger market for guys with experience in direct combat action roles to teach civilians tactics in VR games. Especially as they start to improve in quality and realism. I work in security and taking CQB courses from guys with SF experience is insanely expensive. Would be cool to be able to pay someone like controlled to teach basic room clearing and tactics to take with you to a real course without breaking the bank.
Your last video got me to buy this game, (it's been on my wishlist forever) and I'm enjoying it. I love how tactically you play this, your playstyle really shows off what this game does that no others on the market are doing. Great video, that room clear at the end went really smooth, nice job.
So glad I came across your original video on this game. I'd never heard of it before but it's such a blast to play. Insanely good value for money given how much content is already in the game.
Jumped in, did the 1st 3 missions and really enjoyed it. Some really good ideas here ; like you said - a throwback to the OG GR and R6 games. Wish them luck with it.
one thing you overlooked in your first video: Dynamic Campaigns. This is the game changer for me when it comes to shooters. Hope to see you do a 2 man sniper-spotter style gameplay one day if it's possible. Keep up the great work; pairs
Your first mission popped up on my starting page. I have completed the campaign by now and started to build my own maps. It's my favorite game right now, thanks for showing it to me, I owe you a sub. I named the operators according to their rolls, so I don't need to learn their equipment and capabilities team leader breacher electronics specialist eod medic jtac drone operator machine gunner spotter sniper
hope to see more of this on the channel. it's too complex for me to play myself, but i really enjoy watching someone who knows what they're doing play it and explain their thinking
I watched your first video, then ended up putting 7 hours into this game lol. It’s interesting to watch a mission I’ve done as tactically as possible, and seeing the way you approach the same objective I only wish you couldn’t see enemies on the tac map before spotting as it ruins the CQB element a bit for me. That’s an easy thing to fix though hopefully! Good video, you’re my favourite tac channel I’ve been watching since tac VR days
The spotting of enemies is one of the difficulty options that can be tweaked. I believe Pairs was playing in medium, that feature is not available in higher difficulties.
Heads up that you can do the "Focus" command, the shield, in the tac map and it will tell your guys to face that direction. There is also a cool command that tells them to hold that angle until that specific order is canceled.
I’ve put about 15 hrs into this game since your first video, while it’s very good, there are a lot of things that I think need to be improved, mainly the stealth. There is one mission in this campaign (I think mission 7) which is a hostage rescue at an airport. Where you have to rescue 2 groups of hostages, if they are not in the same building, you will most likely fail, as the hostages get executed if you get detected before hand. And since it’s at an airport, you have to approach with basically 0 cover or concealment, so you get detected and fail. The only reason I beat it was I got lucky and all the hostages spawned in a building close to the LZ and I just rushed it. Another mission in the 2nd campaign where you have to plant bugs while remaining undetected and not killing hostiles, one of the bugs is behind a door that can only be breached, not picked, but if you breach the door you get detected and fail. Overall game is a great base to build upon and overall enjoying it, but that’s my biggest gripe with it.
I beat it successfully with them I two different buildings. A pair was in a plane in a hanger, and one was in the middle of a terminal at opposite ends of the map. I had a 4 mam tram push into the terminal and they managed to not raise any alarms, and I had my other 4 man team basically rush the plane. I put a sniper team in a tower and set them loose once I had the hostages.
Also AFAIK the enemies don't alert if you blast 20 of them in a row with suppressed guns. Literally took out like 3-4 planes and alerted 2 other planes where the hostages were not located in my first run, there were 10 guys in each plane that round. Wild first round. If you alert the guys near the hostages they start smoking them.
Just got this and I’m hella impressed. It’s everything ghost recon should be and I feel like people need to know about this game. Major props to the developer
Kinda odd that you can assign sectors of fire when ordering AI in person but not from the tacmap. IMO, room clearing AI was a rabbit hole that the RoN devs are still far from polishing. I'd rather have this dev focus on expanding the tacmap so you could micro your squad like you would in Doorkickers.
This. Sectors are specifically given during the planning phase of an op. The section leaders are then able to redefine on the fly during actions-on phase.
I've been binging your channel recently, and I'm surprised I haven't heard about this game yet. You have a way of making tactical games just... click. I've really gotta watch you more often, lol. I'll definitely grab this game when I can.
Loving these vids! Still not had time to properly sink my teeth into this game as yet, just doing the tutorials as want to fully get to grips with squad commands etc.
The camo you chose looked like Greek Lizard. It's a decent camouflage. As always it's a treat to watch your tactical decision-making (even when it was a window and not a door 😅).

Walk while looking at a particular angle, valid till canceled by another order Add SHIFT -> Slice the Pie (Purple Arrows) Walk along the path while turning to face the exact point of the arrow. Valid till canceled by another order. About colored paths, just enable them in the settings menu.
I'm glad to see this game is improving. To be honest, I did not think it would after it launched a few years ago. Needless to say, I have been proven wrong with what I am seeing now. Can't wait for it to finish installing so I can finally jump into this game.
This game would be awesome with a multiplayer mode that had the same planning feature and everybody could see the schematics laid out by the two squad/team leaders and then follow thru the mission with actual planning, kind of like ground branch but way better
This game Is outstanding. I love the fact That you can move individual soldiers Can you keep them individual commands. The only problem I see Is that the setups for most games are to detailed. Simplifying squat setup and individual soldiers movements would get the gamer started faster, and allow a person Not too familiar with military gear too enjoy the game more. They've done a wonderful job with this game and with a little less detail in the setup or just configuring the game to be played using an easier setup, Hundreds if not thousands more people will be able to enjoy the game. This game can come the rebirth of true spirit of ghost recon. Every once in a while I go back hook up my PS 2 Play the old ghost and socom games that's how much money they are.
I'd suggest playing around in command mode only (if it's a possibility.) AI in a lot of these games can be a bit wonky, like at that ledge early on- it may have worked if you would've put it back further. But anyway, I highly recommend messing around with just the AI a lot to figure out the little tricks and such to get them to do what you want. I think a good start would be to try getting another one of your guys on point moving properly while you follow as two man to make clearance a bit smoother. You'll be able to do this with more guys as you see fit or are used to. You just need to get comfortable with the AI and how to work them, as with most games of this style.
@@virtuallyreal5849 yeah you can. Unfortunately I didn't know that when I started this campaign and there doesn't seem to be a way to do it now that it's started.
