While the gameplay was not innovative, story-wise, this is hands down the best campaign ever made for a contemporary shooter. There is no overarching plot, the story just follows a Seal team, I think Dusty's team was SFOD-D, and a ranger battalion on day-to-day ops typical for the GWOT era, and it culminates in a rescue mission loosely based on real-life accounts, to retrieve the captured Seals against an overwhelming OPFOR. It felt real, gritty, and it reflected the experiences that many vets from the GWOT had gone through. The key to it was focusing on the warfighters, and that's what MOH 2010 did so well, in my opinion, no global nuclear threat, no one bad guy pulling all the strings, just US SOF going on missions, chipping away at the Taliban. Vets didn't give a shit about fighting the Taliban, or playing as the Taliban, most of 'em loved it, it was the DoD and some random Karens bitching about it and being offended on behalf of the Vets that actually participated in the GWOT. And as per usual for the era, some Seals got into hot water for breaking Opsec, around this time, there was always a Seal guy being a glory hound with some new book, or doing interviews all over the place saying shit he really shouldn't have, so much for "quiet professionals".
I agree completely, it felt extremely grounded compared to similar shooters of the time. The attention to detail in this game.. one thing I noticed in the single player campaign was, if you pick up the AKs, you’ll run into a variety of models of AK that you randomly pick up. Which I can see is really close to reality on a battlefield.
As a veteran I like that you play as actual Tier 1 operators in this game and not some fictional unit or some unit that nobody really cares about. You do a lot of missions in this game that a lot of veterans wish we could have done in real life, a lot of sneaky ninja stuff. In the campaign one of my favorite missions was the sniper mission in the mountains when you’re engaging mortar teams and hostiles across the valley. They nailed the GWOT vibes.
The PVP was the shortest lived yet hardest sweaty fights I ever had, and I've been playing FPS games online since Quake 2.. MOH and WF were so fun. It's so strange having PC and console all that time. I can't combine the 2 when i'm thinking of "the best era of fps games". COD4 and Bad Company were insane on console, but BF2 and BFBC2 on PC were equally insane in their own way. the PC will always be my primary metric when thinking about best times, and MEdal of Honor Allied Assault was for it's time probably the best FPS online. Before MOHAA, grenades were crummy sprites or buggy sticky things, and then MOHAA added grenade physics where you could bounce it off objects to get around corners. Game changing.
The multiplayer was so good. But the servers were always empty right from the start. I think people saw it as a cheap battlefield clone so didn't give it a chance
@@laius6047 you're probably right, but if you played it, you just knew it was a battlefield game. And I remember friends wanting to play battlefield 3 over it so that's why I said what I said previously.
One of my favorite games. I think I still have it somewhere. Amazing graphics, sound and accurate gear/weapon details. Great voice acting too. A real masterpiece!!!
I remember playing MoH back in 2010, just being 12 at the time, and enjoying it. Then, in 2021, I being 23 and having EASed from the Marines the year previous. Even now, 3 years later, I remember how unique the game felt; especially compared to other shooters of that time. Just something about it captured my Crayon Eater brain and I loved every second of it. And maybe I'm being dramatic, but I feel having actually served in the U.S. military prior to my replaying, the ending hit even harder. Especially compared to when I was a child. The way everyone gathers around Rabbit, doing everything they can to keep him from closing his eyes for that final time. All as Voodoo, Preacher & Mother are arguing with Control to get the Chinooks there as soon as possible. It's heartbreaking in a way that hits so close to home, from personal stories I heard from older Marines I served with.
I played this quite a lot on 360, and none of my friends knew about this game, it was weird. But sadly it got to a point where I could never get a game, or even connect to the services somehow. I'm not sure how it was for others, but I gave up on trying eventually.. was sad to have to do because it was legit a good game
Game has a fantastic gunplay, and IMO, the best sound on any FPS. I used to drop my m4 at the beginning of every mission and take an AK, sound was absolutely delicious. Of course, somebody saw it was good and figured out how to ruin it. For the spanish voices they hired teenagers, so that desperate fight for your life on the top of the hill, watching an over 6 feet bearded delta force guy talking with the voice of a 13 year old kid gets a little bit spoiled. PS: "I had a friend in high school who swore it was his favourite game" is not such a compelling argument as you think.
I bought this game on the recent anniversary of 9/11 and istg this game was the most realistic I have ever played and its completely different from COD and Battlefield. Furthermore being based on the War on Terror this felt so grounded and with the Taliban, Chechens fighting real towards their real life counterpart
hey if you like medal of honor (2010) then you should look at medal of honor War fighter, which is a continuation of the 2010 game still being developed by EA and releasing in 2012 with those 2 games in my honest opinion if they were released today, they would be in the top fps gaming category
Both amazing, I just wish they hadn't changed the control scheme on the 2nd one. Hitting circle to crouch is so much less usable than the right analog.
The story for MoH 2010 and WF is still one of the best I've every played to this day 14 years later. The fact that the first one is loosely based off Roberts Ridge is just something else.
I had so much fun in 2010! 😊 It is so immersive!! The sound design is top notch! I'm so glad I got to experience the mp while servers were active! It was a great precursor to BF3!
When i first got my ps3 in 2012 this was the first game i got on the console from a local radioshack shop. Its a great game and i agree that it is highly under rated. I did not experience the crashes you did on console and it really did feel well optimized for the console. I also really appreciate the extra addition of Medal of Honor Frontline game on the disc as, even though it was a much more difficult game to play since its control scheme has aged and the overall difficulty was much higher, it was still a nice addition. The multiplayer was great too albeit not as populated as MW2 multiplayer so the queue times were longer.
I served in the army for 8 years and this game has such a authentic feel. This game had awesome multiplayer too. Sucks it died off. That system they made for leaning was the best. Made it much more realistic.
As a GWOT veteran with 3 deployments as an infantryman. No one gives a shit that you could play as the Taliban except the Karen's of the world. This game was dope, and the story does a great job telling the Afghanistan story
I played the crap out of this game back in the day. I can remember getting it for Christmas on the PS3 and playing it for a week straight. Absolute masterpiece. Also the graphics in this actually hold up with some of the games of today..
Damn good video. I have always adored this game, and Warfighter. I played so much of the multiplayer in these as well, even though they weren't great. I absolutely adore these characters and it sucks that they don't have more stories.
@@craigcopley1174 you gotta launch it through ea app for some reason. Same thing happened to me. Wouldn’t launch through steam or desktop but ea app works
Proud Platinum trophies owner of MoH and Warfighter here. I agree, very underrated. Hoping you will cover Warfighter as well. Both campaigns are amazing.
Fun fact, the canvas sheet on the enemy mg position @11:38 gets ruined & shredded by your rounds, the more you fire upon his position. Back in 2010, this BLEW my mind, among many other things in this game
I played the multiplayer a lot in 2012 so I'll tell you my experience. For the most part it was a lot like battlefield but there is more to know. With both the US Army rangers and the Taliban factions there were only three classes to choose from, Rifleman, Spec Ops and Sniper. - US rifleman carried an M16A4 grenadier, Taliban rifleman carried an AK47 grenadier. - US spec ops carried an M4A1, Taliban spec ops carried an AK74U - US sniper carried an M14 EBR with holographic sight, Taliban sniper carried a Dragunov with an ACOG scope Unlocks were mostly attachments and other weapons, since there were no camos, player cards or reticles. Most of the leveling up was kept within what class you were using. Leveling up was a severe grind since all your points were from kills. It was essential for snipers to level up to get a decent sniper rifle that had an actual sniper scope. - US snipers unlock an M40A1, Taliban snipers unlock an SV-98. The spec ops class unlocks a shotgun, no they were not as good as single player shotguns. - US spec ops unlock a Remington 870 mcs, Taliban spec ops unlock a T0Z-194 As far as riflemen I do not remember since they were the worst class to use back then. The final weapons unlocked for each class was the enemy team's weapon. Just like battlefield all the shooting by players is done long range, COD players that migrated over were bottom of the food chain. The player base was more toxic than a search and destroy lobby in Black ops 2, not the fun kind of toxic with squeakers trolls and internet tough guys. Infact no one ever used a mic so you would get a nasty message each session. Lagging was never an issue for most players the servers were pretty stable. The screen font was so tiny every letter was a one pixel large. That's all I remember.
I too wrote this game off when I was younger, preferring Call of Duty and Battlefield. I came back to it when I was a bit older and its now one of my favorite games of all time. I rarely get emotional playing games, but the ending of this one gets me every time. Its such an authentic and realistic feeling game that doesn't get enough credit. Great video keep up the good work.
Theres so much MW2 nostalgia over the last 10 years or so, I feel like I missed out on that. While everyone was playing MW2 and Black Ops, I was playing this and Bad Company 2. I loved this game so much.
Me and my friends were about 13-14 when this came out, it was legendary and all we ever wanted in a game at the time and the multiplayer was so good to us.
I originally played this game on my parents old pc. It changed my whole view on first person shooters. The heroes arent always unstoppable badasses that can tank rifle fire and grenades, and showed me some realism of current events at the time. But more importantly, it showed me that the hero/main character doesnt always get the happy ending. Such a heavily underrated title and i agree that it rivals a few of the modern warfare games.
Medal of Honor Allied Assault is my favourite game of all time, right beside Battlefield 1942. I still dream about these games 20+ years later. They have a special place in my heart.
I definitely loved the Medal of Honor modern series because it felt like you were still part of a squad instead of a one-man Army like with Call of Duty. I also loved how the details on the guns were you know there were scratch marks dirt it actually looked like your guns have been through combat not a brand new gun every single mission.
my dad and I loved both this moh, and moh warfighter. breaching in warfighter was so cool. warfighter mp was also awesome because you could play as different special ops units and stuff. I loved those games and really wish ea would have moh make a comeback, it's desperately needed.
This was the greatest story driven first person shooter ever made because it was made with absolute passion and attention to detail and authenticity. I remember leaving for Paris Island three days after beating this game for the first time also with Linkin Park being my favorite band. This will always have a special place in my heart.
Great video. Getting the M60 going the first time is crazy. If you play on higher difficulties you have to stab people a bunch of times to kill them, otherwise they get back up and start fighting again. Hugely incorrect opinion about warfighter though. The online play for that game was crazy too back in the day.
this is one of the best fps campaigns I've ever played. *at the time this game came out, nobody was telling these stories on podcasts yet. 14 years later, a lot of these missions are exaggerated and out of sequence but are at least loosely based on the real life events you'll hear recounted by people who lived them or watched them unforld nearby
The multiplayer was the real highlight from this game for me. A good mix between the movement system from battlefield games with a fast time to kill like the cod games. Sad the servers were officially shut down but apparently there’s a way to get it working on ps3 again with custom made community servers.
It's crazy how people realize NOW how good the Medal of Honor "Reboot" was and Still is to me. I fell in love with how real it felt especially the gun fights and missions at hand. I just wish it was BC on Series X of which is a bummer that it isn't. I love all Medal of Honor Games tbh.
Thank you for shining light on this game. It got primarily only flak when it came out but it's good! The control scheme is similar but different from call of duty, and the strip is focused but not traditional. It's simply a war story in the war on terror. Thanks for the video.
I played the hell out of the multiplayer on this game. Absolutely loved it! The campaign was awesome as well. It’s one of my favorite military shooters. Warfighter was good, it had some nice additions, but it just didn’t hit the same. 2010 multiplayer had that special DICE sauce on it that made it gritty and intense to play.
This was one of the last major game releases I played prior to graduating high school and joining the military in 2010. I remember feeling burnt out by MW2 with the unpatched 1887's, commando knife and nube tube overkill BS. This game felt like a nice mix of COD4 combined with battlefield which was awesome at the time. The singleplayer also looked so good for the time and felt weighty. As someone who was weeks away from basic training at the time it got me hyped lol. crazy to think the kids born when this came out are in high school already...
I love this game to this day. The sections where everything is going fully tits up are brutal and panicky, the in-game dialog is brilliant and I never got bored of seeing dust kicking up around enemies from stray bullets, it looks amazing but also helps hugely to keep the player focused on tight grouping to stay effective. Grieves me that it's not backwards compatible on Xbox
It really was an epic campaign. I don’t hear many people talk about it but I remember it well. I think that between CoD & BF it slipped between the cracks, that and there wasn’t much of a multiplayer from what I can recall and that’s all what games really are.
One of the best FPS games ever released. The spoke with actual SOF soldiers and based the in game missions off of their real life experiences in Afghanistan. I purchased a brand new computer just for this game. It was so realistic that I felt like I was back there in the early days of the war.
Really wish danger close would make a come back, 2010 and warfighter were amazing games and have fond memories of the campaigns and their multiplayers and weapon customisation were insane
Problem was this game was showing things that people didn’t even know were actual parts of the conflict. People weren’t paying attention to what was going on in Afghanistan in 2010 or before. The cover system is still one of the best in any shooter in my opinion.

This and Warfighter are genuinely some of the best FPS ever. The customisation and gunplay in Warfighter especially was top notch.
Game changing.
one of the best FPS game I've ever played loved the campaign and the multiplayer.
I bought this at release and genuinely loved playing it. I remember being confused by the hate it recieved.
The multiplayer was so good. But the servers were always empty right from the start. I think people saw it as a cheap battlefield clone so didn't give it a chance
Wasn't it made by dice? Before bf3?
@@laius6047 you're probably right, but if you played it, you just knew it was a battlefield game. And I remember friends wanting to play battlefield 3 over it so that's why I said what I said previously.
This was a beautiful throwback! These games were fun and Multiplayer was also fun :)
That apache helicopter mission was one of the best I've ever played. The voice acting was superb and when that music kicked in....
Medal of honor warfighter deserves its 💐💐 we had so much variety for fps genre in my teens
@@borrago I wish they'd kept the double-tap Y mechanic to draw the pistol
unironically the game made me realize about the variants of AK's out there, also magnified flip sights.
For me it's a mixture of both cod and battlefield in a good way
Based on Roberts Ridge. RIP John Chapman.
You should look into the real story that they were trying to pay homage to.
John Chapman was a beast.
Both 2010 and warfighter are extremely underrated and in my opinion are some of the best and most grounded shooters I’ve played
The helicopter portion was part of the game to let you get recover , relive and ready to fight again
2010 and warfighter had my favorite campaigns ever. such good memories playing them
I served in the army for 8 years and this game has such a authentic feel.
This game was my favorite when it came out. What stood out to me was how good the weapons sounded
Apache mission was sick af. Loved the campaign and the multiplayer.
I wish they would’ve kept the aesthetics and sound on newer games 😢
I wish it was available again.
It’s available with ea play
@@clayton2500actually? I bought it on EA and it still wouldn’t load
@@craigcopley1174 you gotta launch it through ea app for some reason. Same thing happened to me. Wouldn’t launch through steam or desktop but ea app works
@@craigcopley1174 you have to launch it through the ea app. it wouldnt launch through steam or desktop for me either but the ea app worked
@@craigcopley1174 try launching it through the ea app, thats what worked for me. steam and desktop it didnt launch for me either but the ea app worked
As a GWOT Veteran, this is the best FPS ever made. It’s based on the Battle of Robert’s Ridge. You should check it out.
I liked this game a lot as well, I even liked Warfighter. Never really played the multiplayer, but I remember really enjoying both campaigns.
Proud Platinum trophies owner of MoH and Warfighter here. I agree, very underrated. Hoping you will cover Warfighter as well. Both campaigns are amazing.
If you think vehicle based soldiers listening to rock music while fucking up shop seems silly....you know nothing of the military.
Haha, I guess I don't
Ahh. Thanks for this algorithm. ❤
That text at the end of the final mission. If you know, you know. Literal tears every time.
- US spec ops carried an M4A1, Taliban spec ops carried an AK74U
- US sniper carried an M14 EBR with holographic sight, Taliban sniper carried a Dragunov with an ACOG scope
Unlocks were mostly attachments and other weapons, since there were no camos, player cards or reticles.
- US spec ops unlock a Remington 870 mcs, Taliban spec ops unlock a T0Z-194
As far as riflemen I do not remember since they were the worst class to use back then.
I once heard this game described as "a 5 hour blowjob for the US Military" and that sounds pretty accurate.
It was a really good game though.
That doesn't sound bad really. Lol
I never usually watch these types of videos but I really enjoy yours
I too wrote this game off when I was younger, preferring Call of Duty and Battlefield. I came back to it when I was a bit older and its now one of my favorite games of all time. I rarely get emotional playing games, but the ending of this one gets me every time. Its such an authentic and realistic feeling game that doesn't get enough credit. Great video keep up the good work.
Theres so much MW2 nostalgia over the last 10 years or so, I feel like I missed out on that. While everyone was playing MW2 and Black Ops, I was playing this and Bad Company 2. I loved this game so much.
I loved Bad Company, the level destruction was unreal back then.
From time to time it's nice to play its multiplayer through Neptune launcher.
Wait what? That's a thing? PC I'm assuming? Do lobbies fill?
I'm also curious
Me and my friends were about 13-14 when this came out, it was legendary and all we ever wanted in a game at the time and the multiplayer was so good to us.
I originally played this game on my parents old pc. It changed my whole view on first person shooters. The heroes arent always unstoppable badasses that can tank rifle fire and grenades, and showed me some realism of current events at the time. But more importantly, it showed me that the hero/main character doesnt always get the happy ending. Such a heavily underrated title and i agree that it rivals a few of the modern warfare games.
It’s stupid that this and warfighter were never made backwards compatible
Pisses me off so much! I want to play it again!
I video brout back so many memories for me. I never gave MOH a shot because I veiwed it as an inferior version of bf3. Great video btw.
Medal of Honor Allied Assault is my favourite game of all time, right beside Battlefield 1942. I still dream about these games 20+ years later. They have a special place in my heart.
Played so many of these games with my little brother, such a good franchise
I definitely loved the Medal of Honor modern series because it felt like you were still part of a squad instead of a one-man Army like with Call of Duty. I also loved how the details on the guns were you know there were scratch marks dirt it actually looked like your guns have been through combat not a brand new gun every single mission.
HOW DARE YOU NOT MENTION THE ABSOLUTE GOAT OF FPS "MEDAL OF HONOR FRONTLINE"
PLEASE FORGIVE ME!!!
Broooooooo the beginning with Eisenhower’s speech and the music gave meeee goosebumps. Really paralleled saving private Ryan
Warfighters multi-player has been my favorite PvP multi-player experience to date and it really does suck that it left the way it did.
my dad and I loved both this moh, and moh warfighter. breaching in warfighter was so cool. warfighter mp was also awesome because you could play as different special ops units and stuff. I loved those games and really wish ea would have moh make a comeback, it's desperately needed.
True, the soundtrack was perfect in this one
One of the best campaigns Ive ever played. It was the first time a linier story caught my attention like that.
100% agree about the gunplay. Suppressed shots with the M14 & M4 were so good.
I really like both MOH 2010 & warfighter. Both are good ganes imo i miss this series so much.
Thank you for shining light on this game. It got primarily only flak when it came out but it's good! The control scheme is similar but different from call of duty, and the strip is focused but not traditional. It's simply a war story in the war on terror.
Thanks for the video.
The US Army missions are so much fun in this game. This game was so underrated. I loved the multiplayer too.
The amount of times I replayed this campaign is crazy! What an underrated gem!
I love this game and its sequel. I still play them about once a year. Takes about three evenings to play them through
OH MY, THE MISSION with the Apaches coming to save you is the BEST!
I loved how you get a different AK variant every time you pick one up in this game
Really enjoyed the multiplayer on my 360 all those years ago.
This game was absolutely amazing! The environmental sounds and weapon play were so awesome!
Dude I was so obsessed with the multiplayer trailer! Man I miss this game so much If anyone remembers Krahu youre a moh 2010 og lmao
The online multiplayer was absolutely awesome when it first came out. I played it over COD every single time. God I miss it.
Moh multiplayer was honestly awesome. My friends and I played that for hours on end.
