Back then, I saw the trailers about how dedicated they would research on WW2 from weapons to real places, but it feels like lots of them slipped out for the sake of storytelling and gameplay. As such, I side with Frosty regarding this game.

Sort of, sort of went back to its roots...

WWII has its moments at points but completely flops in others. I like the Hürtgen forest missions the most, but you don’t feel like you’re a small part of a much larger conflict like in WaW or COD 2. You’re still a Hero with a wrecking ball for a squad and go on a few special ops taking down a train, fighting in Paris, and a night ambush/infiltrating a Wehrmacht base with suppressed weapons. COD WWII will go down as a great looking game that couldn’t let go of the hero shooter gameplay that diluted the seriousness that it should have contained IMO.

We need COD 2 with the WW2 engine and animations.

After all without WW2 games there would've not been Modern Warfare and Black Ops and all other military shooters and games like it

Loved the video! Just to let you know, there is still a community of us still playing on console in 2025. You can regularly find lobbies on PS and it is such a lot of fun, compared to the newer CODs

I bought this game not long ago, tbh primarily for the Zombie mode. I dropped cod after Ghost, no particular reason. Anyway, I played through the campaign of the highest difficulty (not too bad for my relatively low skill) and it is,.. It was alright. ...Nothing comes to mind to complain about, but I also think there was nothing that _jumped_ at me and made me go "holy shit!" I, like, say og Modern Warfare 3 when Frost opens the Humvee and you see a missile hit a building. I liked it, but not at the same level as the others I've played. Zombies was a _bit_ different than Treyarch but I got the hang of it pretty quickly. Enough to complete The Final Reich's casual easter egg on solo.

Warfighter was way ahead of its time. I’d give anything to revive its multiplayer

My favourite game of 2003

My cousin and I loved both of them in a senseless way it was one of those summer games that marked us forever and after 17 years since we tried Dead Man in co-op we can confirm that our love for them remains very solid. I hope one day that IO INTERACTIVE will have the spotlight that it deserves to such an extent to take back the IP from Square Enix. The same thing for the new Hitman games little appreciated in a financial way but highly appreciated by users.

Cod ww2 is ok but not really all that in my opinion but Cod waw is more my kind and Cod 3 especially

I still have my Xbox copy and was grateful it got backwards compatibility for the Series X. It's a really cool and dark gameplay loop that's still fun because nothing else is like it.

My most up to date console is the 360 and ps2. Never had them connected online. Thank you for convincing me to not bother upgrading farther. The higher price and then not having a tangible copy sound like a headache. They may be obsolete by today's standards but they still hold up and I can get "new" games for cheaper than more updated consoles.

Me being a Huge Ww2 nerd I always find it a pleasure when games depict Ww2. But they must do it right like Hell let loose or World At War.

We didn't know how much worse it could get after COD WWII. We asked for different theatres and multiple protagonists like in WaW, and so Sledgehammer woke-ified the concept with their A-Team-type bullshit. As much as we would like to call Vanguard a blunder of Sledgehammer and Activision, we ultimately started them down that road by demanding more diverse storytelling.

Loved the review, made me pulled out some old memories. just wanted to ask ur thoughts on one of my lost favs, "Freedom Fighters" a game that never seems to be talk about, that I loved. Opening title screen music made me cry, think cuz of the times

From what I rmrber ww2 wasn’t that bad minus loot boxes sad thing I was on pc and the game died before I was out of it player base dropping and me wanting to play more also would have loved to see that game sledgehammer was working on sounded pretty cool actually

We live in woke days. Look what they made with Wolfenstein! A leftie woke fest! The best was WORLD AT WAR and WW2 with Call of Duty! It was fun! Realistic and not woke. Playing BO6 now and I am just sad and wish they would respect OG , masculine gamers. Good video!

it still blow's my fuckin mind that is game was banned while mortal kombat has you rip spines out disemboweling and disfiguring opponents but the karen media were shitting themselves over a few execution 😂
