    Fluorite glass is man made glass. Its hard to make and therefore very expensive.
    It reduces chromatic aberration to virtually zero.
    I have a Kowa spotting scope with this glass and its pretty incredible.
    Can you speak more about the low light performance in general and the edge to edge clarity vs the Swaro or anything else you can compare it too?
    Thanks

      Thanks for the info on the glass! I believe the B5's fall in somewhere between my old Vortex Razor UHDs and the Swaros in low light. To be fair I'd be comparing 18s to 15s in the Razor's case, so not really apples to apples in light transmission, but I was still really impressed with these Maven's across all ranges.
      So much so that my new pair should be here in two weeks lol. To me, Swaros will always be the gold standard though, its just if you can swing them in the budget!

    How do they compare to the $599 MSRP Bushnell Forge 15x56 binoculars?

    • @DeerandDonuts
      @DeerandDonuts  Год назад +2

      In the spirit of honesty I have not gotten my hands on the Bushnell forge. What I have heard from those who have seen them are the a sweet little budget bino in the world of big glass. I don't believe they'll stack up to this model of mavens but probably don't overlook them if you are looking to save a bit of money. The athlon cronus g2 are another one to look at around that range!

      Man I wish I had your eyes. The swaros edge the mavens just slightly for my eyes but no where near enough to ever justify the price.

      @@DeerandDonuts it takes the EL's to edge out the maven's for me, and that's only very slightly. The NL Pures are on a whole other level, but are cost prohibitive for a lot of people including me. LOL

      Meopta B1 plus are worth the extra cost. Dunno about the warranty wait time because I never needed to send mine in knock knock knocking on wood.

    Hey fluorite glass is way better than thes called Chinese made ED glass, Kowa first used fourite glass then other companies copied kowa even Swarovski

    I'm currently demoing a 15x56 B5 and compated them to my SIG ZULU 9 ZULU 10 Leupold BX5 Santiam all 15x56 I cannot see the difference in clarity. The B5 still have chromatic aberration under high contrast situations. My B5 18x56 looks clearer that this 15x56 Demo B5. Maybe I got a lemon demo?
    I expected way better honestly.
    I also own a Meopta B1 plus 15x56 which is a little clearer but rightfully so since they're more expensive.
    Pre ordered a Swarovski NL Pure 14x52 hopefully they arrive before I have to send the B5 back.
    I also own a Vortex Razor UHD 12x50 and it looks sharper clearer than the B5 15x56 demo Maven but then again IDK I may have gotten a lemon or a below average one.

      @DeerandDonuts  Месяц назад +1

      I truly think everyone's eyes are different but I have to believe you got a lemon for the B5s to be that far below the others. Either way a lemon in the line would be a concern as well.

      @@DeerandDonuts I had to send 4 out of 5 of my Japan MAVEN B series in for warranty. They sent back the first two after they serviced them with lots of dust still inside which was part of the reason why I had actually sent the in for. They told me it's normal to have some degree of various types of dust on the inside their Binoculars' lenses which doesn't affect performance and are considered within specs according to Maven.

      SIG ZULU 9 15x56 I have looks neck and neck in clarity compared to the DEMO MAVEN B5 I currently have.
      ZULU 9 can be bought for as cheap as $750 if you pay attention plus SIG even pays for your shipping of you ever need to send them in for warranty just like how Vortex does via prepaid return shipping labels unlike Maven who expects their customers to always keep on paying out of pocket for the postage and insurance to send your Maven in for warranty plus the long wait time ask me how I know I actually recently sent 4 out of 5 of my Japan made Maven B series Binoculars already.
      The Japan made Maven B2 11x45s are hands down, my favorite Maven binoculars. Unfortunately they too needed to be sent in.

      Vortex has a way better warranty and turnaround time compared to MAVEN ask me how I know.
      Sent in lots of Vortex Vipers, Razor HD, Razor UHDs and 4 Maven Japan B series and Vortex free return shipping via prepaid return shipping label vs MAVEN expects you to pay out of pocket for shipping and insurance and well over a months wait time for service repairs while Vortex roughly only about a week to 10 days or so including round trip shipping time based on personal first hand experience plus Maven didn't get it right with these first TWO BINOCULARS I have to send them right back.
