6.5 PRC vs 6.5 Creedmoor: What's the best deer rifle?
No Picture of the two rounds?
Still loud not worth it.
To each there own. I can see where some people wouldn't want to shell out the cash.
Awesome keep it up amigo
Thank you my friend, getting into the best time of the year!
I’d like to see you do a video comparing the different First Lite camo’s and which one would be good for multiple hunts from the whitetail woods of Midwest to elk hunts out West.
Been saying deer with my Walmart camo for years.
Not sponsored, goes to change, sponsored Yuma add pops up.
My man if we found a way to be sponsored by a company as large as first lite, I'd be telling everyone. I think the youtube algorithms got ya.
How are these as handheld? Will these require some kind of stabilization (monopod/tripod)?
I think it depends what you are trying to use them for and at what distance. What are their intended use for you?
@@DeerandDonuts primarily for roof inspections, but I wanted to be able to use them for hunting as well. Our max distance for glassing here in South Alabama is 400-500 yards. Thinking maybe the 10x50 may be better for my situation.
I think if you are looking out to 400-500 I'd recommend a traitor stabilization either way. With that said unless you are trying to really look at mine length on deer or something like that the 10s might be a bit better. Definitely easier to handle glass with and 500 yards is way shorter than what we are typically using these 12s to glass at.
Before I built my rifle I took a really hard look at both the 6.5 PRC and 6.5 Creedmoor. Due to 6.5 PRC not being a “true” short action and it having substantially more recoil, I decided on the 6.5 Creedmoor. Yes, the 6.5 PRC has better overall ballistics than the 6.5 Creedmoor, but it does at the expense of more recoil, cost, and also the 6.5 PRC ammunition and rifles are not as widespread. I shot a 300 Win. Mag. for the last 25 years and have learned that bigger is not always better. The noise and recoil of the 300 Win. Mag. is not as cool as it used to be. 🤣
Haha couldn't imagine 25 years of 300 win mag. I think we can all agree either 6.5 will be substantially easier on your body after that.
@@DeerandDonutsIt was once said, “A small bullet in the right place is better than a big bullet in the wrong place.” Shot placement is paramount! Happy Hunting…🤙🏼
Keep in mind, you can always load the prc cartridges lighter and have less recoil for range, target, and general shooting. Load it up stronger for hunting season. I've found over the years that most rifles can have great accuracy at the lower end of the reloading books.
Yup 👍🏼
The best channel so far on muzzle brakes. I love shooting my 300 WM and thanks to brakes ,I enjoy it more.I would love to hear more on the kinds of brakes out there and what's best for me.
great job guys!
Thanks! He was definitely not massive but was an awesome first deer for someone.
Would they be good for outdoor college Football games?
I think that all depends on how good your seats are. I can see the 12x being a little strong to see the whole field.
What is the outside diameter of that factory radial x-bolt factory brake? Could you please tell me?
Bears near a road in Az.
amateur hour
Thanks for watching anyway
NO > over $2 a round is BAD, very bad.
I believed in the browning recoil Hawg brake and own several and they do their job well, recently I’ve switched to the HUDU muzzle brake from southern precision tooling and OMG they live up to the hype. They claimed 87% recoil reduction and I believe every bit of it. My 300 win mag now kicks less than a 6.5cm
I'm a pretty big recoil hawg believer, bur I'm definitely down to check out another one. We'll take a look!
I'm currently demoing a 15x56 B5 and compated them to my SIG ZULU 9 ZULU 10 Leupold BX5 Santiam all 15x56 I cannot see the difference in clarity. The B5 still have chromatic aberration under high contrast situations. My B5 18x56 looks clearer that this 15x56 Demo B5. Maybe I got a lemon demo? I expected way better honestly. I also own a Meopta B1 plus 15x56 which is a little clearer but rightfully so since they're more expensive. Pre ordered a Swarovski NL Pure 14x52 hopefully they arrive before I have to send the B5 back. I also own a Vortex Razor UHD 12x50 and it looks sharper clearer than the B5 15x56 demo Maven but then again IDK I may have gotten a lemon or a below average one.
I truly think everyone's eyes are different but I have to believe you got a lemon for the B5s to be that far below the others. Either way a lemon in the line would be a concern as well.
@@DeerandDonuts I had to send 4 out of 5 of my Japan MAVEN B series in for warranty. They sent back the first two after they serviced them with lots of dust still inside which was part of the reason why I had actually sent the in for. They told me it's normal to have some degree of various types of dust on the inside their Binoculars' lenses which doesn't affect performance and are considered within specs according to Maven.
@@DeerandDonuts The B5 15x56 is a demo program model they sent.
They get their measurements off 6' - 6'4 guy's their products are NOT made for short chubby guy's
I can tell you I'm not the slimmest dude and this one fits me pretty well.
What size is your pistol? I've got an m18 wondering if it'll fit nicely. Also you don't bother with a holster? Do you have a manual safety?
It's just a Glock 43x with an optic. I've never bothered too much with the trigger holster. I've been carrying guns both professionally and at home for well over a decade and in my experience without something present to pull the trigger you'll have no issues.
Area 419 hellfire brake
We've had that suggestion a few times. It's on the list when the cash comes together!
Lame don’t worry about anyone but yourself doesn’t look like u had fun at all the multiple arrows I can understand but come on music and a dog, messed your day up 😂
This is a concise, informative comprison with everything a person needs to know without volumes of unnecessary data. All in all, a very professional presentation.
Thank you sir. We appreciate you watching!
What make and model bike is that
A very old beat up one lol
I'd like to see a video on the trace pant of first lite.
We'll take a look at them!
You should try that in Houston/Huntsville area. We hit 115 twice last summer and 99% humidity is normal. You are soaked by walking to your vehicle and back.
I've heard it's not the heat that gets you, it's the humidity. Or at least that's what my very Midwestern dad says.
'That animal comes first'. yeah until they lose their hearing, may change their minds very quickly. Just saying
I started out with Kuiu without a lot of research and have added a good amount to my collection. After hunting with sitka guys I’ve come to the same conclusion about it not being quite as durable although some pieces look more comfortable. I was looking toward Sitka for late season whitetail gear which I think they’ve hit out of the park with the fanatic set but ultimately went with first lite due to their 40% off fathers day sale. Sitka does have sales as well but it seems like I always just find the very big or very small sizes available. I don’t think you can go wrong with any of the 3 brands and they all have good deals on to build a good hunting collection if you look out for sales or used pieces
This is a great comment! I think each brand offers their own various pros. I loved my Sitka fanatic set when I was doing a ton of whitetail hunting. What do you think of the first lite set up?
@@DeerandDonuts haven’t worn it out in the field yet since it’s still summer but judging by first impression I think I’ll love it
@@ZaumZ First Lite makes some really good stuff. It is on the short list for when my Fanatic set finally wears out.
I'd love to see a comparison between the yuma and the trace. Do you think they are trying to phase the trace line out? I personally loved the trace and wish they made that into a hoody instead of the yuma. I also do not like the fit of the yuma when compared to the trace.
I think you could see the trace phased out. They just offer more options in the Yuma and we love hoodies for beating the sun.
Did you see that meteor showe lastnight?
100% plastic.
It's definitely not merino wool but it worked pretty good for what it was.
I've been really interested in the new first lite 308 pants for whitetail hunting in Missouri. There isn't to many reviews out on them yet.
I absolutely LOVE mine. I got the regular ones, not the lined or whitetail. I wear a 32x30 and they fit perfect. Enough room to bend and squat and not have tight areas. Even with the vents closed they breathe very well. considering just buying more of and making it my everday pant, and then utilizing the whitetail and lined for in the woods and layering accordingly.
They look like they would be an awesome early season pants.
There’s a company called Thrudark that has a lot of outdoor apparel you might want to look into. They’re from the UK and it’s expensive, but they’ve got something interesting going on there for sure.
I would like to see you compare this with the Kuiu Gila hoodie. I know the ability to dump heat is essential when you are moving and it is warm.
Scott's got one on order for just this comparison!
Very interested 👌 an thank you for your time ⏲️ 😊
Billy Bob you won't regret the performance the 26 Nosler will give you.
Great video man!
Thanks man, we aim to please!
I’ve got the original kit bag. I love it. Holds my binos, rangefinder, knife, fire kit, pistol and can of Copenhagen. Perfect for elk hunting or praire dog hunting I ditch the pistol and put two extra AR mags in the pistol pouch.
I've heard great things about that original size. Might have to just break down and get one.
Did you pushnthe button to charge?
Yeah cycled it on and off a few times
Have a 300 PRC Right now and it’s great and next on my list is 6.5 PRC
You're a stud. I love my 6.5 but I don't think I'd ever want to step up to the recoil of the 300
My brother is a Kuiu guy and I’m a First Lite guy. I guess we’ll have to keep fighting as only brothers do. Lol. Skillet
Well, you are obviously the smarter brother. Probably better looking too. KUIU......
Original full size is the best that I have used. I also have a recon in manatee and the fabric is too stiff for my taste.
I've only played with the recon in their store but never owned it so I can't speak as much to that. The SAR medium was a little stiff but has broken in perfectly!
I have mine coming in a few days. Is it as durable and well designed as people claim? I’ve never bought anything from them before, but the original kit bag seems to get a ton of praise, so I but the bullet and just ordered one
Nikon monarch 5 20x56 is way better than these razor binocular
I agree. I just bought the Nikon monarch 5 and it is awesome. Beautiful clarity.
@@anthonysais2580 congratulations! You have got the best optics.
I think the monarchs probably are a better bang for your buck for sure.
Also, what’s the brand on that chest pouch?
Hill People Gear. We'll actually be doing a review shortly but can't say enough good things
What brand gaitors are you using?
To be honest I don't remember. They didn't survive the trip. The search for a gaiter I like has been never ending.
hey man, just a friendly tip. When you are going to do a gear review, you should make sure you get some shots of the actual piece of gear. You barely even got the parka in the frame!
😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣
Haha, more kids need to be told this 👍.
To to bro, I love Angry grandma.
Lol
It sounds like he didn't have enough patience it's not your fault.
