Recently, Pastor David Gates was involved in a plane crash, which could had been fatal. I think Pastor Mark Finley should had at least mentioned that we are happy to know that our brother is doing well. Sometimes a little concern is more important than trying to make theology right!
The same thought went through my mind. But no mention that he is miraculously still alive, but just a video that attacks his message. I discern which spirit is behind this video, and it is NOT the SPIRIT OF GOD!
Rajeev Larka - You are right. I like both pastors, they are both on the same team but at least Pr. Finley should have even visited Pr. Gates as a brotherly gesture and then if they couldn't agree he would then be free to go public.

Even William Miller was wrong about the event he predicted would take place in 1844 yet by his preaching and proclamations the people were awakened to the imminent coming of Jesus and the need to BE READY before the door of salvation closes. Likewise, David Gate's sermon was to WAKE THE CHURCH UP and much less about date setting. I found David Gates sermon to be hugely encouraging and I am even more determined to live for God in these last days before my name passes through the Heavenly courts. Blessings.
God led in the message of William Miller. That was his will then. Then he told us thru Ellen White to NEVER have a time excitement again. So that's how we can know for sure that Br. Gates is not led by God in this issue.
@@earlysda Pr Gates stated it was his own opinion. He never claimed to be a prophet but instead was stating what he personally believed would take place early next year. It was a wake up call to be ready as these events are very near. How can the Conference speak out so quickly against Davd Gates but refuse to do a public video and address all the apostacy taking place in the Church at present. I would rather they leave David Gates to his own opinions and prefer to hear why the Conference is misappropriating our tithe money, why they are ordaining Lesbian ministers and elders in our church, the unbiblical women's ordination debate and the Great Hope debacle to name a few. David Gates refused to sign one of the points in the Church's Working Policy, which is why the Church is speaking out against him. Yet David Gates is on the frontline doing volunteer missionary work and trying to wake his beloved Church up. I want to be one of the wise virgins with oil in their lamp while waiting for Jesus return. (Furthermore, Pr Jeremiah Davis has been preaching for YEARS that there is only a few short months until the Sunday law is enforced, yet he has not been openly rebuked for preaching this because Pr Jeremiah Davis is still in the Conference, yet David Gates is not). I remember when I was a teenager that my youth group leader in my church was ran out of the church because he was sharing the book "Faith and Works" by Ellen G White which brought righteousness by faith to the surface, and the conservative members didn't appreciate the attack on their 10 commandments. Afraid of "new age religion." How they treated my youth group leader led me to hate the church and I left during a time when I had a lot of zeal but was young and knew nothing. I take full responsibility for my lack of commitment to God and for the time I spent separated from God, but it is a shame that so much division within the church is throwing many mixed messages to our youth and newer members. If only we could allow God to shake without our selfish motives causing unnecessary and painful aftershocks. I hope and pray we can all focus more on reflecting God’s character to the rest of the world, having no expectations from humans or demons other than what has been foretold by God, and having all faith in God that He will do as He promised and is in control of His church and directing it's leaders and trying the leaders as He does any other human. We can do nothing to change a person's heart. Only God can change a person's heart. Even our own. Forgive me for rambling. I just grieve over the cosmic conflict in every battlefield. Especially within the church. But I know that Satan works harder there than any other place. I am just a spiritual baby. I am as a child in my knowledge and wisdom and I have no words to say for encouragement or advice. But I do want to hold on to Jesus tighter than ever as I see and feel the very ground shaking beneath my feet. I want to pray more fervently for our church and my brothers and sisters.

Precisely! I will heed the warning given by brother Gates regardless whether or not there is any validity to the time parallels. I want to avoid speaking ill about anyone but I would encourage others to be cautious of those that are influential in the SDA church. I don't know Gates very well but I feel that he has a genuine and vital connection with the Lord.
Sadly, you are probably half right, Nsanzumukiza. That is because they are not Bible students, and are instead just listening for something to tickle their itching ears. Of course when the time passes with nothing happening (like it has in the past with Br. Gates' ridiculous time predictions), some people will fall away from the truth.

Mark, you have to understand that when you say "my understanding of" is no different than David saying that his "understanding of it is". If I remember correctly David did say that this is what he believed, not that it is unequivocally fact.

Yes, I agree. I do somehow remember a disclaimer of sorts, such as I mentioned in my comment. He did mention corroboration of his information with other like minded men, which can come from Bible study and fellowship. If he claimed to be speaking authoritatively (as a prophet) then I am skeptical, really, really skeptical. The Bible says: in Matt. 7:16 “Ye shall know them by their fruits...” a number or new generation pastors now support what’s going on in the world! Pr. Gates is one who has done a lot in the mission field. How can he be hateful to SDA’s when he wants to wake his fellow SDAs to be ready for the 2nd coming? Think. We don’t hear much about the second coming and end times for fear of scaring the new believers. The truth may be painful or offensive to some, but how is one’s salvation when a sermon is watered down so not to offend? Yes, the conference tend to care about the number of baptisms, but how many newly baptized stay? Yes, it is very critical to point people to what is more important... the salvation of mankind.
There are two verbal corrections. One where Mark says 12,600 where he meant 1,260 (at 4:38) and another where he says historical and meant Historicist (7:10).

I have great respect for Mark Finley. His name is well known in the Seventh Day Adventist Church and some people might say that he is one of the great speakers of our time. His message in the video covers the historical views of both Daniel and Revelation. However, the progressive focus of Daniel 8-12 is on the END TIMES. Mark, I guess my really important question is, what is the impact factor of your message for those who are living at the VERY end of time? Are the Ellen White quotes that you used consistent with ALL of her writings concerning TIME? Failure or insufficiency to look at ALL of her writings is a typical sign of bad research. Ellen White made it clear that the time prophecies in Daniel 12 were a part of the end time messages that extended to the second coming. She also said they were a part of the third Angels message. Mark, your research says that you have an axe to grind with David Gates, nothing more. Any attempt to inject emotion into a Biblical argument is usually a sign that the person making the argument has a motive other than finding out the truth. Mark, I disagree with your motives, there are many different people who have videos on RUclips that are talking about end time events, surely you don't agree with all of them but I've never heard you speak out against them. Emotion should not be your motive in Biblical research. It is also important to note, when there is a disagreement like the one presented by Mark, there is usually a political reason for the dispute. ...I viewed the video n never heard Gates state Christ is coming in 2019. I did however, take Gates's suggestion on viewing "other" videos that influenced his reason for "speaking out". People should watch Pastor Arthur Banner's video set, "Prophecy, Science and NWO", then you will understand why Gates was compelled to share what he (Gates), feels as urgent news.

If not for the Even at the Door sermon of David Gates, we would be stucked in Manila, lockdown for a year when the pandemic hit. But we were able to prepare leaving the city at least 3 months before the pandemic. My husband and I thanked God that we were able to watch that sermon Even at the door. No one in the mainstream SDA pastors saw it coming and warned the church. But Pastor David Gates did.

You promoted The Great Hope. Ted Wilson and a GC team took the millions donated for the distribution of The Great Controversy in 2012 and altered tit so much, deleting over 500 pp., made it acceptable to the pope, then said it was the same as the first book and then handed it out. I listened to David Gates and I know him well enough to know that he would never do to the Great Controversy that has been done. I know you said you were not involved, but you promoted it. David Gates is a godly man and the Lord does help him with all he does. You and Ted Wilson are not I’m the clear about the Great Hope. I am done listening to either of you.

When I heard Pastor gates I fell the urgency to be ready, even if Jesus doesn’t come in my lifetime, I know that urgency will pass to the younger generation. After listening to this video I felt discouraged, I’m getting more and more disappointed at the GEneral Conference.
God has told us thru Ellen White to NOT get up a time excitement. When it dies down, then it will be much harder to bring people up to a preparation when the real event comes. And speaking of the younger generation - they will learn of the failed time predictions of their "leaders", and probably reject all the truth of the Three Angels' Messages. So it is best to not preach error in the first place, wouldn't you agree?
Interesting how you are falling into the trap of following how you "feel." Therein lies your problem. Trust the Bible, not your feelings, and definitely not the wild inaccuracies of David Gates.
He is not setting a time line, he is making a call to wake up, and warning that the Sunday law is in process, and I do not make decisions just by feeling, I pray and read the Bible as well. I don’t see what’s wrong with God putting peace in my heart when I hear a sermon that encourages me to be ready, and that’s the feeling of urgency that I have in my heart. God bless you all.

A video in which a man humbly shares truth and points out many errors in David's message. Real errors. Errors that matter. Time setting was only one of the many errors David made, all while speaking from a pulpit. It's important to embrace truth and reject error.

This is not about the two elders it is about our own personal relationship with Jesus. We were known as the people of the book, let us study the scriptures like the Bereans. Elder David is telling us to be ready. Elder Mark Finley is telling us understand last day events. I don’t agree with David but I believe that he has a message for the last days. Be ready! Elder Finley has been quiet about many evils happening in our church, he should speak up even as he speaks up against David.
Pastor Finley, Pastor Gates understands that. Historically SDA's see the 1260 days or 42 months of revelation "anchored" in the dark ages. However he, Gates, is just sharing what could be a possibility of viewing the days of Daniel 12 as "literal" days (Yom - Hebrew word use). And please take under consideration the sequence of the days; 1st the 1260, 2nd the 1290, last the 1335. That means that the parting date for all these dates start from the beginning of the 1260! In other words, the 1260 days begins the chain reactions of expected events to occur! We SDA's place them on or before 1844. The 1260 days began on 538, the 1335 began on 509, and the 1290 on 554. This set up contradicts Daniel 12. And we did this because if we expected Christ after 1844, Daniel 12 had to b fulfilled before or on by 1844. That's why Gates's state's that Daniel 12 should b seeing as literal "days" n as well as prophetic. The issue is that (and I understand no one wants to b seeing as a Hal Linsey or Harold Camping), we SDA's are standing in the side walk for further instructions (as it relates to prophetic interpretation) cause we don't know what's next! We r in limbo, because no sign of HOW the "siege of the church" (in modern times - Luke 21; Matt. 24)) would take place.
Mark Finley, David Gates, Ted Wilson, Doug batchelor they are all VERY GOOD PASTOR no need to argue about that if Sunday law is already applied today or not yet we just need to get ready for our coming savior Jesus Christ couse we don't even know when we are going to die.

You live in a cocoon of imagination. I was a SDA born and brought up to be SDA. The church and mission policy has deteriorated to such an extend that when we questioned our church leaders from the bible about certain truths they asked us to leave the mission. Slowly but surely our Denomination has slipped back to the dark ages. They persecute anyone who dare to question them about anything. We say Jesus will come soon but the missions are all in disarray and the brotherhood is gone. I'm not surprised that you caution others about Pastor Gates cause he shows the zeal and enthusiasm for the Lord like the SDA of old. He doesn't dilute to please any GC members or bosses. You should have awarded and supported him and helped him to expand the Lord's work that he doing, instead you choose to be the Saint that cautions ppl about Pastor Gates. @Hubris the advent movement started because of the numbers that predicted the Lord had entered into the most holy place. Many fell away and left their Faith. E.G White continued with the study. There will be a great shaking and many shall be deceived by their Faith in fixed faiths of tradition and caution. Pastor Gates isn't divine but he does have his faith. Do you really believe the scriptures then it clears states that even your sons and daughters will have visions. If no one is left even the stones shall declare the 3rd Angel's msg. Th at all the world shall hear. Why are you being sceptical? If there is a doubt then take to the Lord in prayer and fasting. He will not let you down if you but ask Him. It's useless to sit hours debating whether to be or not. Do what you do in faith and trust with prayers and fasting. Then no one will be deceived. There is no shortcut to heaven. Broadway is the road that leads to hell. Narrow and hard is the path of saints. If you doubt try to find the truth with God. It will be too late to wait for the Sunday law proclamation. The door to reach our Lord closed. Like the foolish virgins we would be left behind. Even the elect could be deceived. Why wait for the law. The signs are all around you. The knowledge has increased by far leaps and bounds, there is war and rumers of war everywhere. The ppl are being herded into mass groups. There is violence debauchery and mockery of the Lord. The storms are growing more unpredictable and climate change is a reality. The divide between the rich and poor is at its highest. Humanitarian emotions are dying. Ppl are eating living for pleasure without bothering about anyone else. The nation's too are at each other's throats...If you don't see that as the prophecy being fulfilled than what do you think it is? Even the unbelievers believe that the end of this earth is near.
David Gates and the present truth brothera are not just only waking up the saints, but also waking up the SDA corporate world to revisit the three angels messages. Even if David Gates or anyone is wrong, Just like William Miller was wrong with the even, God still allow Miller to wake up Christians at his time. God is currently allowing shaking through what ever means He seams fit to wake up the saints. Individuals it's time to study your bible for yourself.
Even though Pastor David Gates may have committed a mistake stating a date during a preaching, he then recanted, I think that Pastor Gates has the best intentions for God's people, and he is preaching the present truth, let us not criticize each other, let us pray for each other.

David Gates didn't say the NSL was in the "Paris Agreement". He didn't mention that, even once. He said the NSL was in the "Popes Encyclical". Something seemed "not right" about this. Seemed deceptive, like the "Great Hope".

I agree with you that all of those issues should be addressed, but it does not negate the fact that this is also necessary and I praise God that it is being refuted. I love and appreciate the work of Uncle David and believe we should keep him in our prayers and hopefully, he will come to see the error in this teaching. Sadly, you are correct, the leadership has not done their appointed work by taking issue with the Great Hope (Hoax), homosexuality, transgenderism, the emergent movement, etc. However, this is one issue that they also needed to address and thankfully they have done so. And yes, they should be balanced and fair and address all corruption.

There is no Sunday Law "in the pipeline". God has already told us in his holy words given to Ellen White that after his judgments on the land (America especially) people will clamor for a Sunday Law. There is no way, according to God, that the NSL will come in by stealth as Br. Gates and Branner state. We need to study and be ready, and give the 3 Angels' Messages with great power!
Pastor Finley never said there is not Sunday Law in the pipeline, the issue here was not about that. He simply addressed pastor Gate's analysis connected to the Paris accord, which with all due respect to elder Gates I believe he is incorrect. All conscientious Adventists firmly believe the Sunday law is on the horizon.

If EGW has, again and again, emphasized that there will be no time setting after 1844 then I choose to side with her and not speculations that at the end may hurt the church.

Charly, Pastor Finley's purpose is not to attack David Gates. He wanted to show the grave errors in David Gates' video called Even at the Door. David Gates was time setting which is against what God has revealed. Unfortunately, many have followed him on that trail. So, this video was to show that there is no biblical precedence for that. Obviously, those dates that he set are past and therefore, what David gates was preaching is proven false. Regarding the church preaching the 3 angels' messages, there have been efforts to preach the 3 angel's message. I'm amazed how some pastors are attacking David Gates, yet no one word against the worse atrocities many influencial pastors within the denomination are doing. Are they thinking we don't understand what hipocrisy is? Sad period of time we're living in.

It's very simple; As long as he is advocating time setting his message will be one of error, fanaticism, and heresy according to the Spirit of Prophecy - advancing infidelity rather than christianity.

Second, Mark Finley talked about when speaking about the word, it is not to be based on feelings. That is true in certain sense if what the person is saying cannot be sustained by the word of God. The SDA church began with insight ka sense of feeling). On October 23, 1844, when Edson Hiram was walking through the cornfield to visit the other brethren, it was insight tha came ove him that Daniel 8:14 was speaking of the heavenly sanctuary. By praying and studying the Bible, the pioneers arrived to the conclusion that the insight was accurate. By reading the Bible, the Spirit of Propbecy and analyzing the measures that are being taken to combat climate change, one can see to the naked eye, this will bring the Sunday Law. People can see that there is a day to stop doing works that revolves around climate change. It is Sunday. Third, Pst. Finley talked about he believed God was still working through the church. That is true, He still does. But what is or who is the church? The Sanhedrin is not the church. The church is the body of Christ who is walking according to His will. Jesus left the Sanhedrin and called His disciples to spread the Gospel. The Sanhedrin was too blind to see the sign of time. I am not calling the top leaders, the Sanhedrin,. I do believe some of them are sincere, faithful believers just like in ancient Israel, we could find Nicodemus, Nathaniel etc. But, they need to be careful they do not turn into the Sanhedrin of ancient Israel. Fourth, hevtalked about an issue with time. The prophecies were given so we could pay attention to events and realize the time in which we are living. In Matt. 24:32,33 Jesus said; "Now learn a parable of the fig tree: when his branch is yet tender and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh. So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors." Prophecies were given so we know the time. The events are prophecies' time telling us to get ready. That notion of time that Pst. Finley was talking about and using the Spirit of Prophesy as back up is taking out of context. Fifth, Pst. Finley in response, also talked about time is not in essence, the church needs to get ready, go forward with the third angels' message. The church has been sitting for so many years, living like the world, if the people don't realize what time it is, how they gonna give the thrird angels' message. It is those who live a transformed life that can proclain the message. Ephesians 5:27 Jesus is coming to get church not having spot, or wrinkle or any such thing. (Manuscript 122, 1901)-Those only who through faith in Christ obey all of God's commandments will reach the condition of sinlessness in which Adam lived before his transgression. They testify to the love of Christ by obeying all His precepts. Brethren, do you see the four walls with the members really ready to be bride of Christ? Sixth and last, pst Finley discussed the judgemennt of the living. I disagree the judgement of the (all) living will be during the time of the mark of the beast. The church will be judged first. Since we are the people to bring the message of Revalation 18, the judgment of the church has to be done before the latter rain. Spirit of Prophecy explained the rain is fallin in two stages. First there will be a sprinkle. That is to wake up the church and prepared her for the full strenght of the latter rain which is the loud cry. The selection of the 144,000 for the loud cry has to be done. Therefore, he can't say the judgement of all living will be during the mark of the beast. Ancient Israel probation was closed, yet they continued to offer their sacrifices and not knowing they were rejected because they were blind. What happened is written to serve as example. I can't argue on the point of pst. Gates that the church has rejected the Spirit of Prophecy. I have not seen a video or document of the 2015 gathering. However, I saw and heard of several SDA local leaders rejecting the writings of Ellem White. I do not totally agree with wth the 3.5 years that pst. Gates discussed. However, I am delighted that he did not bring it forth as definitive. He did say, let say it doesn't occur. Get ready brethren, Jesus is coming soon. The events say it all.

To all who has taken part in commenting, I would want u to take some time in reading what I am willing to talk about all these shakings that have been going through from past few days. Though the things going within the church might not be convincing whether it is right or not ... Let us not focus into such things about who is right or wrong ...neither let us condemn anyone but rather pray for all our church leaders. We are ought to know that good things and bad things will happen within the church but just because of that, let us not fall prey to what we see happening within the church lest we turn our focus from Christ and the spirit of prophecy and turn a prey to the devil. We r ought to know that these things will happen within the church but we are to turn our eyes from all these conflicts and move forward with Christ and the spirit of prophecy that is readily available to all ..let us not loose our focus on the things which concerns our eternal salvation the most. Let us not forget that by involving in such arguments regarding the things happening within the church we are forgetting what the devil is looking forward to turn away our eyes from Jesus and the spirit of prophecy by being involved in the conflicts arising within the church. Yes I agree it is good to know the things happening within the church personally. I listened to his comments and was upset to hear that said about David Gates. I have listened to Uncle David and and feel strongly that he may have something there;his message is a warning. I have also listened to Mark Finley and have heard everything he has said over the years, so I didn’t mean to come off disrespectful. He and his wife are doing much for the Lord. Please forgive me Pastor Mark. I didn’t like what Pastor Doug said on Facebook, posted a letter that Scott Ritsema sent to Uncle David. I think all comments should be sent to Uncle David directly. I know what Uncle David is saying and why. It’s not far fetched, I feel strongly that Jesus is coming too. I also have had dreams where I’ve been impressed that Jesus is coming imminently. Let’s get ready. Look up David Gates, SDA on RUclips and listen for yourself. Look for the books Mission Pilot and Mission Miracles and see what I’m talking about. Uncle David has a special message, a burning desire to help wake anyone up who thinks Jesus is coming someday, but probably not in their lifetime.
Pastor Finley, I want to encourage you to actually watch the sermons by pastor Arthur Branner that pastor Gates recommended. The study he does on this topic is very thorough where as pastor Gates just touched on some things and did not give all the Spirit of Prophecy and Bible like Branner did. I would encourage you to watch them twice and take notes on the statements with provided S.O.P and Bible. What he provides backs it up completely so there is definitely something to this that we need to take a better look at. There are 3 sermons that I know of and pastor Gates provides the link. Please do your part by watching the original message with it's thorough delineation before writing off the message altogether. You really can't go by what pastor Gates goes over in his video, that wasn't the whole message with all the supporting evidence. It was really well done by pastor Branner. While Pr. Branner's points that there is a future 3 1/2 year period shown clearly in Revelation and Daniel, his points about probation closing for God's people in a year is fanatical time-setting that we have been warned against.

Your conclusions about the GC and its leadership are baseless. The current administration at the GC has been the only notable voice against the women's ordination issue. You must not be in what is going on in our church today. Pastor Ted Willson and the rest of the GC officers have openly exposed these issues to be unbiblical. The GC responsibility is to keep divisions and unions in line with our doctrines and teachings and consequently, through these entities keep the local conferences and churches in line as well. This is the model which was given to Moses at Sini. Moses was not allowed to micromanage and neither should Ted Willson be allowed. The spiritual welfare of our church is dependant upon many factors, but one that stands out the most, in my mind, is the need for a cohesive existence between the varied entities of our church body. Sadly today many of these entities are rebelling and in the midst of such emergency, we need to rally around the flag. We should be praying and supporting the faithful leaders who are calling sin by its right name. Remember they are but humans and they need our prayers. The GC has taken the appropriate steps to deal with this emergency and soon we will see the results of it. God help us all to be faithful!

Personally I read that I am supposed to follow the word and not any men. I tried to listen and compare to the Bible. This applies to any leader/ pastor. Bible says “you will know them by their fruits.”

I’ve watched both this video and Paster Gates Video. I have to conclude the Paster Finely defended his position solely on clear statements from the SOP regarding the setting of time prophecies. Sister white is clear that there will be no more time prophecies. I love the work that Paster Gates has done, he has been a great inspiration to many of us. But when you weigh his revelation to that of the SOP, as well as our historical stance on the 3 1/2 yr, 42 month 1260 day/yr interpretation, it comes up short. Finley is right. You can’t transfer the time period over in this way. Also, considering the clarity of what the SOP says, Time Prophecy finished in 1844. You can’t change those statements.

iztheterrible I respect Paster Gates and his labours. If it wasn’t for his testimonies I would never have gotten involved in the work. With that said, I have to measure what he said in his video to the SOP AND... our fundamental beliefs concerning the interpretation of biblical time prophecy. He clearly stated that probation on the Church would close around the spring, March and April specifically, of 2019. That’s what he said. And though he may have eluded to “not setting a date”, this is exactly what was done. The SOP says that there will be “no more time prophecy.” There will be no more prophecy based on time. No message from God will come to us as a movement that will be centred around time. That’s SOP... that’s E.G White...I have to accept those statements, in-spite of who is giving the message. Secondly, we DO NOT believe in a literal 3 1/2 year time prophecy. That’s Futurism... that’s JESUITISM, invented by Francisco Ribera in 1585 to combat the Reformation. We believe in a “day for a year” principle. You can’t apply that principle to one prophecy and dismiss it at another. There has to be consistency, else we open ourselves up to confusion, misapplication and to every wind of doctrine under the sun. I’m sorry, but in spite of who is giving a message, if it violates the fundamental rules of biblical interpretation, whether they are independent or from the conference, Gates or Finley... Liberal or Conservative, ecumenical or present truth... I myself, must align with a “Thus saith the Lord.” To the law AND TO THE TESTIMONY... if they speak not according to this word... I refuse to support a “who” for the sake of being a part of a particular “group”. It’s about the truth here. We are in the business of declaring prophetic events not setting prophetic dates.

I am not here to take sides or judge.. I've followed these two leaders, and all I'll say is this, "by thy fruits, you shall know them," From my experience, growing up in the Caribbean, during the mango season we only stoned the the ripe-laden trees, not the green or non-fruit ones.

Should we be prepared for Christ's return at any moment? YES! In fact, our hearts and minds should be ready at all times, for it matters not if Jesus physically returns next week, if we die today - our probation will still have closed, perhaps without the forgivness of our sins. "However, no one knows the day or hour when these things will happen, not even the angels in heaven or the Son himself. Only the Father knows." Matthew 24:36. Therefore, to set a specific day or year for Christ's return is unscriptural, thus very dangerious indeed.
This issue reminds me of ancient Israel, when the scribes, and pharisees, and sadducees, went after John (The prophet). I have great respect for Pastor Mark and the other leaders, but I think the issue here is all about readiness not about dates. Question, Pastor Mark, where was your voice when homosexuality was introduce into the church? Where is your voice while the General Conference is going deeper and deeper into apostasy with the Roman Catholic church? It seems to me that Rome have his sickle under your neck. I think Pastor Gates was clear that he could be wrong about his date. But the entirety of his message was time is running out and to wake up a sleeping Laodicean church. I see nothing wrong with that. God's word also says we should be watchmen and that in the last day's men, woman and even Children will have prophetic dreams and visions. That means that God has, is and will speak to his people when he needs to convey new information. So we should not be in haste to toss the baby out with the bathwater.

What Pastor Gates said was He believes Sunday Law will be enforced in March 2019 and that he could be wrong. He also said believes that the judgment of the living will start then or has begun based on past events. He is right the Sunday law currently exists as The Climate Change Law. And I believe he is right that Satan is not stupid enough to call it what it really is. He will disguise it and make it look appealing. With all these recent disasters and monthly mass shootings, I could very easily see a Sunday law being implemented if a sequence of catastrophes or one mass catastrophe were to happen in a short time frame. I may not agree with pastor David gates interpretation of bible prophecy relating past prophecies to the end time,but now I see that his video has raised the seventh day adventists all over the world to the study of end time prophecies.The time line for end time prophecies is 2017,when protestantism was supposedly ended,and catholics and protestants signed ecumenical documents that they were now one faith,fulfilling Great controversy page 444-445.That same year we saw the beginning of creation of the image to the beast,Revelation 13:13-15,which is union of church and state working together.We also,saw president Trump signing the executive order allowing churches to participate in matters of politics.This is how close we have come to fulfilment of bible prophecy.From 2017, any year Sunday law can be decreed.It,s a time of preparation for the church.

David Gates did NOT give a date! He merely pointed out that the deadly wound is healed and events are ramping up. It is a POSSIBILITY that big events could happen in the Spring - and by the way - he's not the only one saying this. This ship is the Titanic! As for me personally, I listened to the topic and also listened to the message of Pastor Arthur Branner, but my focus was to prepare and be ready for whatever happens, BUT, by listening to the messages and seeing that the G20 is proposing to the Pope Francisco as president of the new world order about 3 weeks ago, they tell me that something is going to happen, they tell me that I must be ready and be sanctified by God. What I know is that the period of Daniel 12 is a repetitive period according to the Spirit of prophecy, so when the Papacy is placed as a world leader (that is already being talked about), they tell me that what they are talking about Gates or Branner or others who are talking the same thing, something is going to happen. On the other hand so many catastrophes, fires, social problems, terrorism in what the United States is plunged like never before, this calls me powerfully the attention ... should I be silent? I can count on the fingers of one hand how many pastors are helping the adventist churches understand the times ...... Excuse me Pastor Finley, but instead of making a video saying that our brother David is not well in his reports, you should do a video explaining Daniel Cap 12 in relation to Rev 13 and 17, as Helen White said for this days, and alert the world of what is coming, that would be more profitable for me, than making a video talking about another brother. When pastor Borg Esteban heard the same theme from Gates, Borg said he talked to David Gates about that directly, he never made a video to criticize what Gates had said. I am not saying that Gates is right, what I am saying is that it is better to make a video explaining Daniel 12 and Revelation 13,17 as Helena White said for this time, instead of discussing whether someone is right or wrong according to the times. If Gates and the rest of the pastors are right or not, may God judge that not me. Because Gates is not the only one talking about that. Personally, I do not share the theme of Gates very much, but I pray to God so that whatever happens I can be prepared and sanctified by God. Daniel 12 says that when the abomination of desolation is established it will begin the 1290 days and seeing that the G20 is proposing the papacy as president of the new world order, there is no doubt that what will happen will be soon.
When someone representing the church publicly teaches something that is directly against the church's beliefs based on the bible, it is extremely important that the church leaders do speak out. It is not a personal matter because it has been made public by the original person. Hence a public response.

I think that David Gates point was more that the church should get ready rather then his predictions of prophecy. He David gates admits as much. Why is everyone jumping up and down if someone says that we should get ready whenever God does return....
I agree that Brother David was emphasizing that we need to keep diligent in watching the signs of the time. Get ourselves ready for the time if trouble. He also was not intending to take the 42 months prophecy out of where it was. He just was mentioning the many times 3 and a half years are mentioned in the bible. They, Mark Finley and Doug Bachelor are so close minded and don't even talk about what's going on in the background. The problem is that David Gates has quite a following and people are sharing his predictions and prophetic interpretations far and wide. Someone shared it in my SS class two weeks ago. Why promote questionable interpretations to get people ready for the second coming? Let’s stick with what is true and quit time setting.

Recently, Pastor David Gates was involved in a plane crash, which could had been fatal. I think Pastor Mark Finley should had at least mentioned that we are happy to know that our brother is doing well. Sometimes a little concern is more important than trying to make theology right!

Even William Miller was wrong about the event he predicted would take place in 1844 yet by his preaching and proclamations the people were awakened to the imminent coming of Jesus and the need to BE READY before the door of salvation closes. Likewise, David Gate's sermon was to WAKE THE CHURCH UP and much less about date setting. I found David Gates sermon to be hugely encouraging and I am even more determined to live for God in these last days before my name passes through the Heavenly courts. Blessings.

I remember when I was a teenager that my youth group leader in my church was ran out of the church because he was sharing the book "Faith and Works" by Ellen G White which brought righteousness by faith to the surface, and the conservative members didn't appreciate the attack on their 10 commandments. Afraid of "new age religion." How they treated my youth group leader led me to hate the church and I left during a time when I had a lot of zeal but was young and knew nothing. I take full responsibility for my lack of commitment to God and for the time I spent separated from God, but it is a shame that so much division within the church is throwing many mixed messages to our youth and newer members. If only we could allow God to shake without our selfish motives causing unnecessary and painful aftershocks. I hope and pray we can all focus more on reflecting God’s character to the rest of the world, having no expectations from humans or demons other than what has been foretold by God, and having all faith in God that He will do as He promised and is in control of His church and directing it's leaders and trying the leaders as He does any other human. We can do nothing to change a person's heart. Only God can change a person's heart. Even our own. Forgive me for rambling. I just grieve over the cosmic conflict in every battlefield. Especially within the church. But I know that Satan works harder there than any other place. I am just a spiritual baby. I am as a child in my knowledge and wisdom and I have no words to say for encouragement or advice. But I do want to hold on to Jesus tighter than ever as I see and feel the very ground shaking beneath my feet. I want to pray more fervently for our church and my brothers and sisters.

Precisely! I will heed the warning given by brother Gates regardless whether or not there is any validity to the time parallels. I want to avoid speaking ill about anyone but I would encourage others to be cautious of those that are influential in the SDA church. I don't know Gates very well but I feel that he has a genuine and vital connection with the Lord.

He did mention corroboration of his information with other like minded men, which can come from Bible study and fellowship. We don’t hear much about the second coming and end times for fear of scaring the new believers. The truth may be painful or offensive to some, but how is one’s salvation when a sermon is watered down so not to offend? I have great respect for Mark Finley. His name is well known in the Seventh Day Adventist Church and some people might say that he is one of the great speakers of our time. His message in the video covers the historical views of both Daniel and Revelation. However, the progressive focus of Daniel 8-12 is on the END TIMES. Mark, I guess my really important question is, what is the impact factor of your message for those who are living at the VERY end of time? Are the Ellen White quotes that you used consistent with ALL of her writings concerning TIME? Failure or insufficiency to look at ALL of her writings is a typical sign of bad research. Ellen White made it clear that the time prophecies in Daniel 12 were a part of the end time messages that extended to the second coming. She also said they were a part of the third Angels message. Mark, your research says that you have an axe to grind with David Gates, nothing more. Any attempt to inject emotion into a Biblical argument is usually a sign that the person making the argument has a motive other than finding out the truth. Mark, I disagree with your motives, there are many different people who have videos on RUclips that are talking about end time events, surely you don't agree with all of them but I've never heard you speak out against them. Emotion should not be your motive in Biblical research. It is also important to note, when there is a disagreement like the one presented by Mark, there is usually a political reason for the dispute. If not for the Even at the Door sermon of David Gates, we would be stucked in Manila, lockdown for a year when the pandemic hit. But we were able to prepare leaving the city at least 3 months before the pandemic. My husband and I thanked God that we were able to watch that sermon Even at the door. No one in the mainstream SDA pastors saw it coming and warned the church. But Pastor David Gates did.

When I heard Pastor gates I fell the urgency to be ready, even if Jesus doesn’t come in my lifetime, I know that urgency will pass to the younger generation. After listening to this video I felt discouraged, I’m getting more and more disappointed at the GEneral Conference.
God has told us thru Ellen White to NOT get up a time excitement. When it dies down, then it will be much harder to bring people up to a preparation when the real event comes. And speaking of the younger generation - they will learn of the failed time predictions of their "leaders", and probably reject all the truth of the Three Angels' Messages. So it is best to not preach error in the first place, wouldn't you agree?
Interesting how you are falling into the trap of following how you "feel." Therein lies your problem. Trust the Bible, not your feelings, and definitely not the wild inaccuracies of David Gates.
He is not setting a time line, he is making a call to wake up, and warning that the Sunday law is in process, and I do not make decisions just by feeling, I pray and read the Bible as well. This is not about the two elders it is about our own personal relationship with Jesus. We were known as the people of the book, let us study the scriptures like the Bereans. Elder David is telling us to be ready. Elder Mark Finley is telling us understand last day events. I don’t agree with David but I believe that he has a message for the last days. Be ready! Elder Finley has been quiet about many evils happening in our church, he should speak up even as he speaks up against David.
Pastor Finley, Pastor Gates understands that. Historically SDA's see the 1260 days or 42 months of revelation "anchored" in the dark ages. However he, Gates, is just sharing what could be a possibility of viewing the days of Daniel 12 as "literal" days (Yom - Hebrew word use). And please take under consideration the sequence of the days; 1st the 1260, 2nd the 1290, last the 1335. That means that the parting date for all these dates start from the beginning of the 1260! In other words, the 1260 days begins the chain reactions of expected events to occur! We SDA's place them on or before 1844. The 1260 days began on 538, the 1335 began on 509, and the 1290 on 554. This set up contradicts Daniel 12. And we did this because if we expected Christ after 1844, Daniel 12 had to b fulfilled before or on by 1844. That's why Gates's state's that Daniel 12 should b seeing as literal "days" n as well as prophetic. The issue is that (and I understand no one wants to b seeing as a Hal Linsey or Harold Camping), we SDA's are standing in the side walk for further instructions (as it relates to prophetic interpretation) cause we don't know what's next! We r in limbo, because no sign of HOW the "siege of the church" (in modern times - Luke 21; Matt. 24)) would take place.

You live in a cocoon of imagination. I was a SDA born and brought up to be SDA. The church and mission policy has deteriorated to such an extend that when we questioned our church leaders from the bible about certain truths they asked us to leave the mission. Slowly but surely our Denomination has slipped back to the dark ages. They persecute anyone who dare to question them about anything. We say Jesus will come soon but the missions are all in disarray and the brotherhood is gone. I'm not surprised that you caution others about Pastor Gates cause he shows the zeal and enthusiasm for the Lord like the SDA of old. He doesn't dilute to please any GC members or bosses. You should have awarded and supported him and helped him to expand the Lord's work that he doing, instead you choose to be the Saint that cautions ppl about Pastor Gates. @Hubris the advent movement started because of the numbers that predicted the Lord had entered into the most holy place. Many fell away and left their Faith. E.G White continued with the study. There will be a great shaking and many shall be deceived by their Faith in fixed faiths of tradition and caution. Pastor Gates isn't divine but he does have his faith. Do you really believe the scriptures then it clears states that even your sons and daughters will have visions. If no one is left even the stones shall declare the 3rd Angel's msg. Th at all the world shall hear. Why are you being sceptical? If there is a doubt then take to the Lord in prayer and fasting. He will not let you down if you but ask Him. It's useless to sit hours debating whether to be or not. Do what you do in faith and trust with prayers and fasting. Then no one will be deceived. There is no shortcut to heaven. Broadway is the road that leads to hell. Narrow and hard is the path of saints. If you doubt try to find the truth with God. It will be too late to wait for the Sunday law proclamation. The door to reach our Lord closed. Like the foolish virgins we would be left behind. Even the elect could be deceived. Why wait for the law. The signs are all around you. The knowledge has increased by far leaps and bounds, there is war and rumers of war everywhere. The ppl are being herded into mass groups. There is violence debauchery and mockery of the Lord. The storms are growing more unpredictable and climate change is a reality. The divide between the rich and poor is at its highest. Humanitarian emotions are dying. Ppl are eating living for pleasure without bothering about anyone else. The nation's too are at each other's throats...If you don't see that as the prophecy being fulfilled than what do you think it is? Even the unbelievers believe that the end of this earth is near.

David Gates didn't say the NSL was in the "Paris Agreement". He didn't mention that, even once. He said the NSL was in the "Popes Encyclical". Something seemed "not right" about this. Seemed deceptive, like the "Great Hope".

I love and appreciate the work of Uncle David and believe we should keep him in our prayers and hopefully, he will come to see the error in this teaching. Sadly, you are correct, the leadership has not done their appointed work by taking issue with the Great Hope (Hoax), homosexuality, transgenderism, the emergent movement, etc. However, this is one issue that they also needed to address and thankfully they have done so. I’m not even a Seventh day Adventist but I know when a leader of a Organization like the General conference of seventh Adventist. Says there is no Sunday law in the pipeline? When all I’ve seen for years of studying the writings of Ellen White and following scriptures. It tells us it’s coming! So there’s no way the leader of the church can even say that?! Pastor Finley never said there is not Sunday Law in the pipeline, the issue here was not about that. He simply addressed pastor Gate's analysis connected to the Paris accord, which with all due respect to elder Gates I believe he is incorrect. All conscientious Adventists firmly believe the Sunday law is on the horizon.

Charly, Pastor Finley's purpose is not to attack David Gates. He wanted to show the grave errors in David Gates' video called Even at the Door. David Gates was time setting which is against what God has revealed. Unfortunately, many have followed him on that trail. So, this video was to show that there is no biblical precedence for that. Obviously, those dates that he set are past and therefore, what David gates was preaching is proven false.

Instead of accusing the church, it would good for you to share the message of the coming of Christ in your sphere of influence. If you are involved in it already, then Praise God. Second, Mark Finley talked about when speaking about the word, it is not to be based on feelings. That is true in certain sense if what the person is saying cannot be sustained by the word of God. The SDA church began with insight ka sense of feeling). On October 23, 1844, when Edson Hiram was walking through the cornfield to visit the other brethren, it was insight tha came ove him that Daniel 8:14 was speaking of the heavenly sanctuary. By praying and studying the Bible, the pioneers arrived to the conclusion that the insight was accurate. By reading the Bible, the Spirit of Propbecy and analyzing the measures that are being taken to combat climate change, one can see to the naked eye, this will bring the Sunday Law. People can see that there is a day to stop doing works that revolves around climate change. It is Sunday. Third, Pst. Finley talked about he believed God was still working through the church. That is true, He still does. But what is or who is the church? The Sanhedrin is not the church. The church is the body of Christ who is walking according to His will. Jesus left the Sanhedrin and called His disciples to spread the Gospel. The Sanhedrin was too blind to see the sign of time. I am not calling the top leaders, the Sanhedrin,. I do believe some of them are sincere, faithful believers just like in ancient Israel, we could find Nicodemus, Nathaniel etc. But, they need to be careful they do not turn into the Sanhedrin of ancient Israel. Fourth, hevtalked about an issue with time. The prophecies were given so we could pay attention to events and realize the time in which we are living. In Matt. 24:32,33 Jesus said; "Now learn a parable of the fig tree: when his branch is yet tender and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh. So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors." Prophecies were given so we know the time. The events are prophecies' time telling us to get ready. That notion of time that Pst. Finley was talking about and using the Spirit of Prophesy as back up is taking out of context. Fifth, Pst. Finley in response, also talked about time is not in essence, the church needs to get ready, go forward with the third angels' message. The church has been sitting for so many years, living like the world, if the people don't realize what time it is, how they gonna give the thrird angels' message. It is those who live a transformed life that can proclain the message. Ephesians 5:27 Jesus is coming to get church not having spot, or wrinkle or any such thing. (Manuscript 122, 1901)-Those only who through faith in Christ obey all of God's commandments will reach the condition of sinlessness in which Adam lived before his transgression. They testify to the love of Christ by obeying all His precepts. Brethren, do you see the four walls with the members really ready to be bride of Christ? Sixth and last, pst Finley discussed the judgemennt of the living. I disagree the judgement of the (all) living will be during the time of the mark of the beast. The church will be judged first. Since we are the people to bring the message of Revalation 18, the judgment of the church has to be done before the latter rain. Spirit of Prophecy explained the rain is fallin in two stages. First there will be a sprinkle. That is to wake up the church and prepared her for the full strenght of the latter rain which is the loud cry. The selection of the 144,000 for the loud cry has to be done. Therefore, he can't say the judgement of all living will be during the mark of the beast. Ancient Israel probation was closed, yet they continued to offer their sacrifices and not knowing they were rejected because they were blind. What happened is written to serve as example.
I can't argue on the point of pst. Gates that the church has rejected the Spirit of Prophecy. I have not seen a video or document of the 2015 gathering. However, I saw and heard of several SDA local leaders rejecting the writings of Ellem White. I do not totally agree with wth the 3.5 years that pst. Gates discussed. However, I am delighted that he did not bring it forth as definitive. He did say, let say it doesn't occur.

Though the things going within the church might not be convincing whether it is right or not ... Let us not focus into such things about who is right or wrong ...neither let us condemn anyone but rather pray for all our church leaders.
We are ought to know that good things and bad things will happen within the church but just because of that, let us not fall prey to what we see happening within the church lest we turn our focus from Christ and the spirit of prophecy and turn a prey to the devil.
We r ought to know that these things will happen within the church but we are to turn our eyes from all these conflicts and move forward with Christ and the spirit of prophecy that is readily available to all ..let us not loose our focus on the things which concerns our eternal salvation the most.
Let us not forget that by involving in such arguments regarding the things happening within the church we are forgetting what the devil is looking forward to turn away our eyes from Jesus and the spirit of prophecy by being involved in the conflicts arising within the church.
Yes I agree it is good to know the things happening within the church personally. Yes but let us not focus on these things but rather be wise in moving forward with Jesus knowing that these things will happen within the church. I am sick of listening to people's sermons that don't give you the PRESENT TRUTH for these days. Our people doesn't even KNOWS WHAT is going on in this world. It is very exciting now, but after April 2019 passes and nothing happens (just like 2015 passed, and Br. Gates' predictions didn't come true then), some people will lose faith and drop out by the way. Br. Gates' has the blood of these souls on his hands. I hope and pray he repents and resolves to follow all of God's holy words.

I posted a comment earlier, I am sorry to have offended Mark Finley. I believe in the Adventist faith as the Lord called it to be. I listened to his comments and was upset to hear that said about David Gates. I have listened to Uncle David and and feel strongly that he may have something there;his message is a warning. I have also listened to Mark Finley and have heard everything he has said over the years, so I didn’t mean to come off disrespectful. He and his wife are doing much for the Lord. Please forgive me Pastor Mark. I didn’t like what Pastor Doug said on Facebook, posted a letter that Scott Ritsema sent to Uncle David. I think all comments should be sent to Uncle David directly. I know what Uncle David is saying and why. It’s not far fetched, I feel strongly that Jesus is coming too. I also have had dreams where I’ve been impressed that Jesus is coming imminently. Let’s get ready. Look up David Gates, SDA on RUclips and listen for yourself. Look for the books Mission Pilot and Mission Miracles and see what I’m talking about. Uncle David has a special message, a burning desire to help wake anyone up who thinks Jesus is coming someday, but probably not in their lifetime.
Pastor Finley, I want to encourage you to actually watch the sermons by pastor Arthur Branner that pastor Gates recommended. The study he does on this topic is very thorough where as pastor Gates just touched on some things and did not give all the Spirit of Prophecy and Bible like Branner did. I would encourage you to watch them twice and take notes on the statements with provided S.O.P and Bible. What he provides backs it up completely so there is definitely something to this that we need to take a better look at. There are 3 sermons that I know of and pastor Gates provides the link. Please do your part by watching the original message with it's thorough delineation before writing off the message altogether. You really can't go by what pastor Gates goes over in his video, that wasn't the whole message with all the supporting evidence. It was really well done by pastor Branner. While Pr. Branner's points that there is a future 3 1/2 year period shown clearly in Revelation and Daniel, his points about probation closing for God's people in a year is fanatical time-setting that we have been warned against.

Your conclusions about the GC and its leadership are baseless. The current administration at the GC has been the only notable voice against the women's ordination issue. You must not be in what is going on in our church today. Pastor Ted Willson and the rest of the GC officers have openly exposed these issues to be unbiblical. @@bonolib8979 It has never been the responsibility of the GC to micromanage the church on every issue at a local level. The GC responsibility is to keep divisions and unions in line with our doctrines and teachings and consequently, through these entities keep the local conferences and churches in line as well. This is the model which was given to Moses at Sini. Moses was not allowed to micromanage and neither should Ted Willson be allowed. The spiritual welfare of our church is dependant upon many factors, but one that stands out the most, in my mind, is the need for a cohesive existence between the varied entities of our church body. Sadly today many of these entities are rebelling and in the midst of such emergency, we need to rally around the flag. We should be praying and supporting the faithful leaders who are calling sin by its right name. Remember they are but humans and they need our prayers. The GC has taken the appropriate steps to deal with this emergency and soon we will see the results of it. God help us all to be faithful!

Personally I read that I am supposed to follow the word and not any men. I tried to listen and compare to the Bible. This applies to any leader/ pastor. Bible says “you will know them by their fruits.”

1.a- when something begin, it is not the full mather or the conclusion but a starting point.
2-Reaction to David Gates even at the door made BEFORE the fulfilment of the year he prophecied (2019). Early comment/ reactions are not valid. How can one say he is wrong without seeing the fulfilment at the year the Lord gave him to mention?
3-Now looking back from now year 2024, we can see that in 2019 was an attack that begun on the world and unprecedented measures applied.
3.a- Event 201 took place in october 2019. This event must have been planned at least from march 2019 to assure all the key people would meet in october to make this simulation of p@ndemic senario.
3.b- The P@ndeminc outbreak happenend in Huwan China December 2019. The attack was now in the open.
3.c- Yet the plan started even earlier; the order was given in the secret place in march or april perhaps... That which happen in secret, the Lord see all that happens in secret and reveals it to his prophets.
4- To prophecy a thing from the Lord God makes that person a prophet.
5- David Gates never set a time for the second advent of Jesus Christ in the message even at the doors.
5.a- He set a time for another event and is a warning to the people of God. Be ready! Be awake. There is no disapointment in that. This does not weaken the advent position. No one knows the day or the hour of Jesus return. But: Be ye ready and sleep not!

I’ve watched both this video and Paster Gates Video. I have to conclude the Paster Finely defended his position solely on clear statements from the SOP regarding the setting of time prophecies. Sister white is clear that there will be no more time prophecies.
I love the work that Paster Gates has done, he has been a great inspiration to many of us. But when you weigh his revelation to that of the SOP, as well as our historical stance on the 3 1/2 yr, 42 month 1260 day/yr interpretation, it comes up short. Finley is right. You can’t transfer the time period over in this way. Also, considering the clarity of what the SOP says, Time Prophecy finished in 1844. You can’t change those statements.
We were firm in the belief that the preaching of definite time was of God. It was this that led men to search the Bible diligently, discovering truths they had not before perceived. Jonah was sent of God to proclaim in the streets of Nineveh that within forty days the city would be overthrown; but God accepted the humiliation of the Ninevites, and extended their period of probation. Yet the message that Jonah brought was sent of God, and Nineveh was tested according to His will. The world looked upon our hope as a delusion, and our disappointment as its consequent failure; but though we were mistaken in the event that was to occur at that period, there was no failure in reality of the vision that seemed to tarry. - {CET 54.4}
Yet God accomplished His own beneficent purpose in permitting the warning of the judgment to be given just as it was. Jon Richard I truly believe that this is a test for those who claim to believe the SOP, whether they will accept the clarity of its statements or the opinions of a revered and respected leader. There’s a lot of man worshipping going on in both camps. As a people we’ve fallen victim to a “celebrity Adventist” culture.

He's not saying any date is definite, or that the Sunday Law will be here next Spring. What he's saying is that its just around the corner and that it looks interesting in terms of old established prophecy, and that it seems to fit the 3.5 years. He saying big things may happen next Spring in the push for the law. But we all know through SOP that there will be a big movement across the the world to push for a Sunday Law, and that the populace will demand it from their leaders. There will be one tragedy after another, and this will all be blamed on Sabbath keepers. There is a Sunday Law ready to go. the time for it is going forward. its getting closer and closer. many things have to happen before it is to be decreed by our US government. but i dont think its possible to happen this Spring. all said , I still support Gates' message and want to hear more. get ready , get ready , get ready!
iztheterrible I respect Paster Gates and his labours. If it wasn’t for his testimonies I would never have gotten involved in the work.
With that said, I have to measure what he said in his video to the SOP AND... our fundamental beliefs concerning the interpretation of biblical time prophecy.
He clearly stated that probation on the Church would close around the spring, March and April specifically, of 2019. That’s what he said. And though he may have eluded to “not setting a date”, this is exactly what was done.
The SOP says that there will be “no more time prophecy.” There will be no more prophecy based on time. No message from God will come to us as a movement that will be centred around time. That’s SOP... that’s E.G White...I have to accept those statements, in-spite of who is giving the message.
Secondly, we DO NOT believe in a literal 3 1/2 year time prophecy. That’s Futurism... that’s JESUITISM, invented by Francisco Ribera in 1585 to combat the Reformation. We believe in a “day for a year” principle. You can’t apply that principle to one prophecy and dismiss it at another. There has to be consistency, else we open ourselves up to confusion, misapplication and to every wind of doctrine under the sun.
I’m sorry, but in spite of who is giving a message, if it violates the fundamental rules of biblical interpretation, whether they are independent or from the conference, Gates or Finley... Liberal or Conservative, ecumenical or present truth... I myself, must align with a “Thus saith the Lord.” To the law AND TO THE TESTIMONY... if they speak not according to this word...
I refuse to support a “who” for the sake of being a part of a particular “group”. It’s about the truth here. We are in the business of declaring prophetic events not setting prophetic dates.

I am not here to take sides or judge.. I've followed these two leaders, and all I'll say is this, "by thy fruits, you shall know them," From my experience, growing up in the Caribbean, during the mango season we only stoned the the ripe-laden trees, not the green or non-fruit ones.

Should we be prepared for Christ's return at any moment? YES! In fact, our hearts and minds should be ready at all times, for it matters not if Jesus physically returns next week, if we die today - our probation will still have closed, perhaps without the forgivness of our sins. "However, no one knows the day or hour when these things will happen, not even the angels in heaven or the Son himself. Only the Father knows." Matthew 24:36. Therefore, to set a specific day or year for Christ's return is unscriptural, thus very dangerious indeed.
This issue reminds me of ancient Israel, when the scribes, and pharisees, and sadducees, went after John (The prophet). I have great respect for Pastor Mark and the other leaders, but I think the issue here is all about readiness not about dates. Question, Pastor Mark, where was your voice when homosexuality was introduce into the church? Where is your voice while the General Conference is going deeper and deeper into apostasy with the Roman Catholic church? It seems to me that Rome have his sickle under your neck. If Pastor Gates is preaching a false message, then you should preach the three angels message in full. Brethren, please take heed that no man deceive you (Matt, 24: 4). I think Pastor Gates was clear that he could be wrong about his date. But the entirety of his message was time is running out and to wake up a sleeping Laodicean church. I see nothing wrong with that. God's word also says we should be watchmen and that in the last day's men, woman and even Children will have prophetic dreams and visions. That means that God has, is and will speak to his people when he needs to convey new information. So we should not be in haste to toss the baby out with the bathwater.

What Pastor Gates said was He believes Sunday Law will be enforced in March 2019 and that he could be wrong. He also said believes that the judgment of the living will start then or has begun based on past events. He is right the Sunday law currently exists as The Climate Change Law. And I believe he is right that Satan is not stupid enough to call it what it really is. He will disguise it and make it look appealing. With all these recent disasters and monthly mass shootings, I could very easily see a Sunday law being implemented if a sequence of catastrophes or one mass catastrophe were to happen in a short time frame. We live in a time where it would take very little to tip the scales socially to cause panic and fear and genocide and hate. meanwhile, with all due respect I don't recall Pastor Finley making a video to speak out against the Great Hoax I mean Hope ( the Great controversy heavily edited) or some other apostasies happening in our church. I may not agree with pastor David gates interpretation of bible prophecy relating past prophecies to the end time,but now I see that his video has raised the seventh day adventists all over the world to the study of end time prophecies.The time line for end time prophecies is 2017,when protestantism was supposedly ended,and catholics and protestants signed ecumenical documents that they were now one faith,fulfilling Great controversy page 444-445.That same year we saw the beginning of creation of the image to the beast,Revelation 13:13-15,which is union of church and state working together.We also,saw president Trump signing the executive order allowing churches to participate in matters of politics.This is how close we have come to fulfilment of bible prophecy.From 2017, any year Sunday law can be decreed.It,s a time of preparation for the church.

Thank you Elder Finley for pointing out from the Scriptures and the writings of Ellen White, the statements that keep our feet in the path of truth. I also appreciate that this was not a personal attack on Brother Gates as you point out we cannot judge his sincerity as we know he has sought to serve the Lord and hasten His coming for years. It is clear however that there is are no more time prophecies since 1844. I am so thankful to be a Seventh-day Adventist Christian for such a time as this. David Gates did NOT give a date! He merely pointed out that the deadly wound is healed and events are ramping up. It is a POSSIBILITY that big events could happen in the Spring - and by the way - he's not the only one saying this. This ship is the Titanic! Oh dear people, have we become so numb to "comments" and "criticism", are we so pulled down by our own opinions that we do not see how we are all being manipulated by the enemy? As for me personally, I listened to the topic and also listened to the message of Pastor Arthur Branner, but my focus was to prepare and be ready for whatever happens, BUT, by listening to the messages and seeing that the G20 is proposing to the Pope Francisco as president of the new world order about 3 weeks ago, they tell me that something is going to happen, they tell me that I must be ready and be sanctified by God. What I know is that the period of Daniel 12 is a repetitive period according to the Spirit of prophecy, so when the Papacy is placed as a world leader (that is already being talked about), they tell me that what they are talking about Gates or Branner or others who are talking the same thing, something is going to happen.
On the other hand so many catastrophes, fires, social problems, terrorism in what the United States is plunged like never before, this calls me powerfully the attention ... should I be silent? I can count on the fingers of one hand how many pastors are helping the adventist churches understand the times ......
Excuse me Pastor Finley, but instead of making a video saying that our brother David is not well in his reports, you should do a video explaining Daniel Cap 12 in relation to Rev 13 and 17, as Helen White said for this days, and alert the world of what is coming, that would be more profitable for me, than making a video talking about another brother.
When pastor Borg Esteban heard the same theme from Gates, Borg said he talked to David Gates about that directly, he never made a video to criticize what Gates had said. So, you should have talked to Gates and if the Spirit that enlightens you convinces Pastor Gates of his "mistake", surely Pastor Gates would make another video to excuse his word.

I am not saying that Gates is right, what I am saying is that it is better to make a video explaining Daniel 12 and Revelation 13,17 as Helena White said for this time, instead of discussing whether someone is right or wrong according to the times. If Gates and the rest of the pastors are right or not, may God judge that not me. Because Gates is not the only one talking about that.
Personally, I do not share the theme of Gates very much, but I pray to God so that whatever happens I can be prepared and sanctified by God. Daniel 12 says that when the abomination of desolation is established it will begin the 1290 days and seeing that the G20 is proposing the papacy as president of the new world order, there is no doubt that what will happen will be soon.

When someone representing the church publicly teaches something that is directly against the church's beliefs based on the bible, it is extremely important that the church leaders do speak out. It is not a personal matter because it has been made public by the original person. Hence a public response.

I think that David Gates point was more that the church should get ready rather then his predictions of prophecy. He David gates admits as much. Why is everyone jumping up and down if someone says that we should get ready whenever God does return....

I agree that Brother David was emphasizing that we need to keep diligent in watching the signs of the time. Get ourselves ready for the time if trouble. He also was not intending to take the 42 months prophecy out of where it was. He just was mentioning the many times 3 and a half years are mentioned in the bible. They, Mark Finley and Doug Bachelor are so close minded and don't even talk about what's going on in the background. They are blind to see that Brother David is just trying to help us to dig and search and not be lukewarm..We have to be awake and pray for the holy spirit to show us and teach us what we need to do. The problem is that David Gates has quite a following and people are sharing his predictions and prophetic interpretations far and wide. Someone shared it in my SS class two weeks ago. Why promote questionable interpretations to get people ready for the second coming? Let’s stick with what is true and quit time setting.
