Not just rich people, but most financially minded people. I have almost $2m, that’s not considered rich, and I only have like $10k in savings. The rest is invested in real estate, stocks, and bonds. No one with a brain keeps a lot of their money liquid. It’s a really great way to lose money, plus it’s way easier to get if anyone goes after your assets.
