I love Marc Maron's work and have listened to his podcast for years. I have loved Mark Lanegan and his music since the 80s. I kinda wished Maron did just a little more homework before this interview. Lanegan has such an amazing back story...so much to dig into. This felt superficial. Fortunately it seemed like Lanegan was not bothered by it. Anyway, again, I get that Maron can't deep dive into every single guest. Love them both.

I'm reading his book now and it's unreal. He ran in circles with some of the best musicians ever. Has amazing stories and a very interesting life

Engrossing interview with the great Mark Lanegan, could've gone off the rails at some stage but didn't.

He was all the way off the rails homeless selling crack and heroin for years. He got it together thankfully but he was 100% off the rails

I wish Lanegan’s book would have included more on the sober struggles and the epiphanies related to that. He was a mean tortured savage sole. His drug addict self turned that up to eleven! Addicted he was gutter and desperate and vicious and one does not just walk out of that and get sober without the regrets and shame trying to put the needle back in your veins.

The worst interviewer of all time. He asks a question and then cuts him off. It's like he really didn't know one goddam thing about Mark but blindly asks him stupid questions that pop into his head.

I wouldn't call Mac Demarco's bass lines "hot", nor the bass player "hot", nor the music "hot."
