When I worked in an office as human resources, I wore colorful glittery nearly every day. I don't understand why people think anything outside or brown or pink is too much.
Just found your chanel and subscribed 😊 I'm 56 and extremely fair. Since growing out my natural silver hair, I love playing up an ethereal look. I will never give up my shimmery / glittery eyeshadows am looking forward to discovering more eyeshadows like this from you!
Welcome to the channel! It sounds like we love the same classy yet sparkly style so hopefully you will see more that you like! So glad to have you here! 😄
I just found you because I have been stalking reviews of this palette forever, now. I am a 54 year old woman who wears all the sparkly things she can find. Sometimes I tone everything down by layering a coat of matte shadow on top of a too glittery one. You have a new subscriber.
Gorgeous colors, the light green looks so nice on you 😍. Also thanks for swatching in daylight that's really helpful, sometimes studio lights can show the colors very differently
Thank you! I'm really in love with most of these colors to be honest since they are so pastel and light for my fair skin. I got lucky to catch some sunlight this time of year so I grabbed it when I could! 😂
What a beautiful palette, I love the green, I am also very pale so I think ithe green would look really nice on me. Thank you again for another great video!
It is gorgeous!!! Wonderful review! I would buy it but it’s back ordered until March. 😭 i’m like you, I’m too old to be doing my eyes like that, but I still love to have options. It was lovely to see these swatched on your fair skin tone because a lot of the other RUclipsrs I have watched I know are definitely much more tan, and I am closer to your fair complexion. Absolutely love the swatches in the sunlight footage because nobody does that. Thank you for that!
Thank you! I'm so glad I could be helpful! One of the reasons I started a makeup channel is because I couldn't find very many really fair people doing reviews...everything looks sooo different on us. I was lucky to catch that sunlight this time of year in the Seattle area too! 🤣
@@redgirlreviews for sure! We have been really lucky to actually get some sun coming through the windows in Oklahoma, but to walk outside is still painfully cold these days. You really should be getting more views on here, but maybe the rest of us can keep commenting, and the algorithm will figure it out.❤
@@lmullens75 🥰 thank you for the kind words! I’ve only been at this for a year and it seems like it just takes a really long time and consistency or a viral video to get the algorithm to help you out..good thing I’m not trying to make money because so far it’s only cost me a ton 😂 so I see it as a fun hobby/creative outlet. We just had a week of temps in the teens here which were not used to and I don’t know about that kinda cold..you don’t want to go out and do anything!
I work in an office and bought this because I think the shimmers give the right amount of glitter fairy fantasy and they are wearable colors. I wear these shimmers to work often. Yes, the fallout sucks. I find that putting down Nyx glitter glue and then tapping, not swiping, helps with that. I tap it all down first, and then either swipe with a finger or use a brush to help it settle. I was worried I was doing this wrong, so glad to know I'm not the only one with the fallout.
Yes definitely hard to control that fall out! I do the same with the Nyx glitter glue but I think I might try giving a good spray with the One Size aerosol setting spray one of these times to see if that will do it...that stuff is like crazy glue for your face...I mean feels better than that but does a damn good job! 🤣
I saw your IG looks and followed across to find your review here. Your looks are really stunning and your review showcases it in a way that is more comprehensive than others I’ve seen. This palette really suits you!
I bought ER glitter glue and hope to have it work well. I think this palette is stunning. I got a few pressed pigments in Monarch and moon energy. They go well with the CM color story
New sub here! Glad i found u! I LOVE this pallet! In fact i loved it so much i purchased the harvest moon and a single the same day it arrived! There is def something special about the shimmers..even the flakier glitter shades doesnt enhance texture on my hooded lids! ❤❤
Welcome! And yes! I'm so surprised at how soft and moldable those flakier glitters are. I think whatever base they are using for it actually works kind of like a silicone filling primer so it does actually look nice on looser lid skin! I think these may be my fave glitter shadows of all time...at least so far!
I had been eyeing this palette and it killed me not to get it because it looked so cool toned, but I personally just can’t get behind supporting this brand at all. BUT seeing your video actually made me happy I didn’t get it because the mattes lean so warm! And most of the colors of the mattes, I have in Colourpop Aurora Struck and that’s a BEAUTIFUL muted, cool toned palette! I was surprised how much I LOVE that one. I almost didn’t get it because it seemed too colorful. But I’m so glad I did because the colors are muted so i get great Everyday looks out of it plus there’s some deeper mattes for depth!
Yes those mega palettes by Colourpop are pretty much a one and done palette for whatever color story you're wanting. Their Stone Cold Fox one is one of my favorites. Lately some of the smaller palettes I've gotten haven't had the best formulas, not sure what happened but had several chalky kind of hard, not that shimmery formulas that has made me avoid them for a bit and totally missed this Aurora Struck one. It definitely has way cooler mattes so probably a good choice for you!
@@redgirlreviews I’d heard that about their formula lately where some are hits and some are misses. I don’t buy a ton from them since so many of their palettes are usually warm toned and just not for me. But they’ve come out with some smaller, cooler looking ones lately I’ve been eyeing but I always wait for reviews to see first 🤣 I’ve always heard such great things about Stone Cold Fox and I’ll decide to get it and then I’ll be looking at the palette and swatches and it looks like most of it leans warmer aside from a few rows that are cooler so then I decide not to get it. Then I hear about it again, consider it again, then change my mind again 🤦♀️🤣 But I’m happy I got the Aurora! The formula in it is the one I know and love from Colourpop so hopefully if I pick up any of the smaller ones I’ve been considering those ones will be good too 🤞
🤣 yeah I hear you. My biggest complaint about the Stone Cold Fox one is that I just never want to pull out that honking big palette in reality so it sits in a drawer. I saw on Trendmood they are coming out with a really pretty looking blue palette soon so I'm just waiting to try that. I do prefer their smaller palettes. Have you tried the Baroque palette? That one is chefs kiss if you like cool moody grays/blues and has the good formula.@@onewhisper22005
@@redgirlreviews I think I saw Baroque a while back! I’ll have to check it out! Sounds like my kind of palette!! 😍 I saw the new one Colourpop came out with too! So it’ll be interesting to see if it’s one of their good ones or not!
@@onewhisper22005 got that new elemental palette and the formula is decent, not their best, not their worst (baroque is better) but I find I don’t wear it because the blues are not grayed out enough for me still…feels very 60’s Barbie blue eye makeup when I wear it because it’s still a bit more pigmented than I was hoping for..darn!
May I ask what you’re wearing on your lips? I’ve already ordered Cold Moon (coming in March), but I’m always looking for good nude lip options for fair skin. And thank you for such beautiful and inspiring looks!
Thank you! I get asked a lot about this lip combo and I so wish it was an actual lip color you could go buy but of course not...need to start a lipstick line just for cool toned folks...for another day BUT here's what I use: I line the lips with 104 Gone Griege by Maybelline Colorsensational shaping lip liner and then fill the lips (grabbing a bit of the gone griege for color) with Unicorn Glow Lip Gloss in 'Aurora' (you can find it for cheap on Amazon...amazingly comfortable gloss formula). Hope that helps!
@@redgirlreviews thank you! I will look into those, for sure. I just subscribed and realized you have a video from last year with lipstick tips. I’ll be sure to check that out as well. You’re right about needing cool-toned options! I have been looking for my perfect nude for over 30 years 🤨
@@daisycate You're welcome! I really like to be thorough especially with palettes that you can't try in store and have to order and probably will have trouble returning. ;-)
Wow! Those mattes are gorgeous. Tempted to get the palette for those nuanced mattes. What is the fallout situation on the "normal" shimmers (not the "chunky" ones)?
I really am surprised at how good those mattes are and such pretty cool to mid toned colors too...very usable! I'm going to have to double check on the regular shimmers and fall out for ya (I'll wear it today and see) because I don't think I've gone without using the flaky ones yet...too pretty, the sparkles get me every time! 😆
OK I tested again today and the finer shimmers don't have any fall out at all if you apply with your fingers...like NONE so they are awesome! Their base is almost cream but dryer so it really holds together well. 👍
I've got Natasha's xenon... how different is this shimmer wise? I think this is my favorite release this year, but hesitant due to the price tag. Its like a cross between xenon and nude, which both I own.
I would say totally different. ND shimmers are very refined and not very punchy...shimmers for people who are maybe not totally onboard with looking like you went to a rave 😂 The shimmers in this are super high quality (so not exactly rave level) BUT they are not shy at all about being seen. You can go light with them so it's versatile but if you are interested in this it's because you want super intense glitter/shimmer/metallic options. Even the finer shimmer shades are much more reflective than any ND one I've tried. Hope that helps!
You loocks always like a fairy. I,m 45 years old and also love my shimmers and sparkly shades. I would like to know if you have seahorse by adept is do you like. Also if do you have a tutorial whith the eyeliner I love your 💕 Kisses from Spain .
Thank you so much for the kind words! 🥰 I can't resist anything with sparkles either. 😂 Just checking back because I didn't quite understand, did you ask for a tutorial on how I do my eyeliner? Thanks! ☺
@@redgirlreviews yes a tutorial whith how do you do your eyeliner. And if do you have the seahorse palette from adept and if do you prefer it or cold Moon. 🥰
I just watched some videos & swatches of the Adept palette and I'm having a real hard time justifying $140 for what looks like a lot of pastel very similar shimmers. From what I can see online, I think the quality of the Cold Moon shimmers is every bit as good and maybe even a little better for some shades but that's just from watching other people do swatches so can't say for sure. There are definitely 2 different kinds of shimmers though in the Cold Moon (flaky big soft metallic & finer shimmer metallic) I think you'll get more variety and same quality for $72 in the Cold Moon palette personally and their mattes are really usable and some of my faves to reach for which you don't get in the Adept palette. The quality is really good. If you want more of the duochromes with a similar looking formula to the Adept Seahorse one, I just put out a video on the Dragon Eye palette by What's Up Beauty and they look really similar in formula only I'd say the Dragon Eye might even be a little nicer with a better price point and some mattes at $45. Hope that helps!@@monicavelasco845
