Have played this build 8 times now, 6 times in ranked in low bronze and twice with a friend who plays adc in normal drraft against gold players, and I have only had one loss after my adc in ranked overpushed a lot of waves making us gankable and then proceeded to grief for the rest of the game. Works very well and my adc friend's opinion on it being a "troll build" changed quite quickly!
I've always thought the same thing as Hector with regards to nami W (and her whole design and kit, but mostly the W) so it made me personally happy hearing someone else gush about how cool and fun it is.
For everybody that wants to try Nami and doesn't know it, you can also cast E on yourself, not only your teammates like in 12:23 after you used an ability/AA to buff the already flying projectile. You can E yourself after you AA, after you Q'd, after you R'd and after you W'd on someone. The W travels too fast and will hit the first target before you can E yourself. Because of that, if you want to E after W, the enemy you want to hit has to be hit by the 2nd or 3rd bounce/hit. This is the most useful while laning; people are more likely to expect you to AA when they see you E yourself before you go for the AA. You can then use the short speed boost from E'ing yourself to then avoid their poke or to harass further.
this will be rarely the case because you'd sacrifice positioning. in order to get max value out of your e and its bonus magic damage, you'd have to be auto attacking which means you'll be too close to the enemy. unless of course it's a 1v1.
@@murahk123 Ur not sacrificing anything hes simply saying ANYTIME youd auto attack you can make them think the autos arent empowered by hiding E until the autos are flying in the air. Obviously if they see you E yourself/teammate they are going to back up. On top of this he saying you can apply to teamtes abilities as well as yours after theyve already been cast, from wayyyy far back in fight much beyond auto range.
As a Nami lover, I really appreciate your tip about holding onto the ult. There were even times I was yelling at the pros at worlds for wasting her wave. One of my favorite things to do to land more Qs is to anticipate who the enemy team is going to engage upon and Q that ally right as the enemy dashes in - the enemy gets bubbled and the ally gets the move speed buff as a great getaway. Nami is such a fun character. She is kinda the perfect support design. You can build her to do so many things, can be damage, healing, &/or CC focused. Her Ult is ALWAYS relevant, and can be the make or break for team fights. Plus the speed bonuses and range of her abilities make her accessible in all situations.

Broken support(a wild rift youtuber) used to say he spam nami with this build whenever he want to climb to challenger as fast as humanly possible for some reason
I've been playing this build today and oh my gosh! Its SO MUCH FUN! Seriously try it out if you havent already! if you see your adc/jungler/whoever dashing in, you can E and W them to pretty much one shot them with full build. Its super powerful and definitely my new go-to on my main!
After this video, I am curious how the games end up if I follow this style of play. Because keep in mind that since October 2021 when it was possible for me, I have only ever played Nami support, now I have 825k mastery points, and I'm aiming for a million. I will see what will come out of using this new build.
@@yuriborroni5490 Definitely try it, it really benefits from aggressive play, so its great for a team of hyper carries that can dash in and out. I went - spellthiefs, on my first back I got a dark seal and boots if I can afford it, I finish my boots asap, mandate, mejais, then you can pretty much build whatever you want. I normally go another supp item, (staff of flowing water or chemtech worked great for me) then Rabadons, rabs is expensive so I always found that it was one of the last things I bought.
This build is quite similar to Orianna support with Shurelia's. Both are super safe enchanters with high speed boost for teammates, and both are basically what I like to call afk strategies. But this Nami build also offers damage potential, so I will definitely try it out.
@@lastnamefirstname2390 Yeah, well... Me being a bronze with trex arms I can't shut down engages very well, or create picks because I miss 12 out of 10 ultimates I use, but she still feels calming and great to play.
been playing some orianna support in D1. its absolute trash until you get supp item and its hard to get there. If your team runs it down and enemy gets too ahead its just absolutely useless. I try to rush CD boots and then supp item. i even buy tear sometimes just because mana costs are so high. It's super fun but it definitely isn't that good lol
Thank you so much for this! I absolutely love it. I have 1mil points on Nami and don't know how I didn't think of doing this before. I'm playing way better now and trying to position better so I don't die and lose my stacks. I'm getting S even when I lose. No going back now lol. Only bad side is that some people will flame and ping your items regardless.
Huh... so thats why I had such a good success with Nami for the past 8 years... I always build full ap until moonstone and imperial were added and then used imperial for a while and now I feel like full ap is the way to go still
I really wasn't expecting that. Sounds fun. I wanna try it even without the intention of climbing. Update: It was really fun! We won, too. I really didn't expect it to be that strong, though the jungler was quite fed. I realise I suck at staying in the backline though. I got a bit cocky sometimes. Ironically enough that was their demise for going all-in on me since the actual damage dealers just took advantage of that to win fights.
Time to see if this will work in bronze with my bronze mechanics and decision making. My teammates were not pleased with my Mordekaiser jg from the other guide!
a lot of these guides assume you're gonna put in some work in the practice tool, and maybe bot games, to get a good feel for it before taking it into ranked
Nami is my favorite support and I've always considered running AP on her because wacky W scalings, seeing this though, I'm going to try it out more often. Thanks for the build!
Nami main here, 1 mill points and gold/plat ranked. This works but you're probably going to get flamed anyways lol. People will either love you or hate you. Happy fishing!
It was a small sample size but last season in 18 or so nami games I had close to an 80% win rate, one of my favorite champs just wish my duo played more adcs that pair with her well
I play Nami with everything. There's always something useful in her kit. Her E also causes Seraphine's empowered E to root people on the first pass. And then the follow up hit is a guarantee.
I peaked in season 3 playing AP Nami support. Eventhough i more or less stopped playing it i can only approve with what you say in this video. BTW i also play nami mid sometimes for fun, it's not competitive but it works when you max Q for waveclear, but the main reason i did that in the first place was her W scaling and capacity to win trades. To complete what you said, i'd say Nami is a great permissive support, her W allows you to easily solowin trades on bot lane if you play aggressive or sustain your lane when you are behind due to its heal. For me her only major weakness is the lack of instant peel/cc which can make you struggle against certain fast champions like Master Yi. Your bubble is not as good as a polymorph but Nami makes up for it with the rest of her kit.
I'm not having the best of luck so far, but I've also never touched Nami. xD Gotta work on positioning as a largely top lane main. Looking forward to getting the hang of it though!
I saw this recenltly, the Nami played with Mejais got 25 stacks, i got suprised. Danm it was strong, and fun to have beside you. I main mid, but Nami be a nice champ i previously played. I feel it rewards nice skill expression and positioning.
As a Nami Main. I feel the pain of Missing a Q and then having both my and the enemy team Chastise me about it. Because they think it's so very easy to land one of the slowest moving skillshots. Up until this point I've been building full support/heal with Moonstone and other Support related items. Can't wait to give this a try and see how it handles these days
Having enchanters take kills early game really benefits the whole team because you're essentially buffing your teammates through your heals and shields rather than having only your adc being the strong one.
I wish this were more true. I think it's really situational depending on what champ , and even if there were situations where it could be strong your team would never believe. I think it was cool when sona mid was seeing some play a few seasons ago. Sona does good things with items/gold, and her power spikes become a power spike for the whole team especially if they know how to play around their sona because all her abilities can empower every ally at once. Sona lacks waveclear for mid to late game, but you can give her exp and early gold/cs enough to get some good items
What im getting is that the optimal support 1. Builds pure damage. 2. Steals early kills from their teammates 3. Doesnt buy vision 4. Gets their adc killed in order to preserve dark seal stacks
I never Player Support before. My first game I got S- and second game an S. And it makes so much fun to me, that I will change my main lane to Support.
So I tried it and i had overall great games with the build (currently 68% wr @ p2) but I had to adjust it. I almost always build mejai's every game but I just don't always take dark seal early on every game. Like, if i know that i'm against an incredible hard lane to win or if i need to rush anti-heal, I'll grab it maybe after mandate when surviving is much easier. Collecting stacks is pretty darn easy i really do get about 400ap every game. I stopped buying Deathcap anymore. It's too expensive, kinda overkill and I hardly fully build it but it's very fun when you do.
Why Mendate not Ludens in general... The Ludens Passiv has a overall Cooldown, mendate just a short 6sec CD per Champion. What is just 60% of the overall Cooldown from Ludens, so it is nearly always ready. And when you don't really need the Penetration it is just better with the +15 AP. Also a bigger Mana Pool is nice, but even that can get empty. With Mendate, the Manapool goes empty quicker, but the Higher Mana Regen means it also wills up double as fast.
Sona can do all the things you mentioned Nami can. I looks like Nami can do them better however Edit: Also, Vigilant wardstone also multiplies AP (by 13% not 35%) And counts as a legendary item once it upgrades to it, and is only 1100 gold. So, that could be something to buy (Along with Rabadons). So if you think the game is going to end before you get rabadons, buy the "watchful wards" item
In a game where I got 2 early kills and ended with 4 - 1 - 16 I had the Mejai's at around 23min and the cap right before the end of the game @ 30 mins.
That's genuinely very interesting. I gotta try that. My usual bet for climbing is playing underrated champs no one plays and getting good with them. I play kindred for exactly that reason, she's goddamn hard to play correctly (and god after most a thousand games I still suck) But nobody plays her. No one is ever going to ban her and she can actually be played basically everywhere. And if done right you can just burst someone down but at the same time crap out the sustained damage of an ADC. Hard, very hard, especially if you don't have a team that knows how to cover you but if you don't die you can win every teamfight. I eventually got to a 56% win rate which COULD be better but I'm happy at this point. It's fun, feels like everything you do is actually earned because you aren't playing a braindead overpowered champion (I'm still ashamed of my time with Yone and I'm more disgusted that I got to almost 70% win rate) But yeah, gotta try that Nami build too. Always good to have a plan B Also I love the mentioning of GP, he's literally the most fun to planer because... Well who doesn't like oneshotting nukes? Im Bad with him but boy is playing GP fun
what elo are you playing kindred never gets played? haha bro she's literally picked in my games (Diamond 1) at LEAST once every 4-5 games. She's super popular and braindead broken once late gmae
Great idea, I will definitely try this out I got two questions though. 1. Who to pick, if the enemy picks Nami first? 2. Does this work on other enchanters like Lulu or Janna too?
Tell DOPA Twisted Fate is weak in soloq 😂 I think there are three main factors for win. Knowing your champion, knowing your matchups and knowing the macro. For most people there is so big gap in all three that the champion selection doesn't really matter. But i agree with the need for versatility and viabiliity both early and late game. Be weak early and teammates tilt and afk. And sometime the team is not able to finish a game quickly when winning, so late is important too.
Tried this over the last few days. As a bronze player, just to see if something helps my WR. I'm 2W-6L in normal drafts. So there's clearly something ELSE required that I don't grok just by watching this video.
Since everyone is sharing their wonder stories: First, I've played Nami. A lot. But I'm a sucky little bronze. I was miserable having no damage so I gave up on her for a while. Buttttt freakin' eve was camping me and ziggs the whole game just now. Even though not once but twice I outplayed her, survived and got the kills. Then she got me the third time (rolls eyes) but we easywon the rest of the game. I am gonna give it some more tries tomorrow. I finished placements on one account. I'll start with Nami on my others and see how it goes.
i tried both for a long time and must say lulu does the same but somehow the results always way better forr me and my team especialy when my team is playing against scaling champs
Hector is such a gigachad, hes recomending the vegan build instead of Ludens oneshot so that the mysterious 70% nami challenger players dont get demoted, full respect😫👑👑
ryze is a good champion to learn cause when his time is gona shine youll shine the greatest for a start your friend who you claim isnt very good which actually rude and public addressing it but 83-62 win rate means his climbing into plat which is above average player so he isnt as bad as you are making it out its not like his gold with 2000 game sand a 45 % win rate
Re visiting this video almost at the end of 2024 and after taking some break from League... does this still work? I have seen some changes being done to some items.
Btw I've been spamming it those last days and have 65% wr on her. I still go Mandat as a first item > Mejai > Either Rabadon if I've a lot of golds or Helia Echos. Lot of roams and GG
I am a mid main and sometimes I would get filled as support. I just simply can't be fully committed to the support role so I choose "mage" support, and I always built this exact same build with Nami just because in my head I am still playing mid lol. I just get 1 or 2 support items not to be called a troll, and always did well. Now with your video I know why. I have been doing it right without knowing all this time 😂
I think nami in general is still kinda busted if u go mandate and just normal supp items with a bit of ap. My current go to champ if I just want to not think and play.
The Title is clickbait, Riot nerfed Nami in 13.1b, right in time when i started to have success and consistent results on her... Thx Riot; are you stalking me like no we dont want him in high elo...
Ok I'm trying this on diamond, lets gooo... btw before a few seasons I used to play ap Nami mid sometimes. It was really fun tbh and also strong during laning phase, cause W trades. :D

"Low elo is is so cahotic that often playing wrong is playing right". Love this quote
In a game where I got 2 early kills and ended with 4 - 1 - 16 I had the Mejai's at around 23min and the cap right before the end of the game @ 30 mins.
Would shurelias be better than mandate against tankier teams or with burstier teams?

Also I love the mentioning of GP, he's literally the most fun to planer because...
7:29 Might be incorrect, but I believe they patched Nami to use her own Magic Pen instead of her target when it comes to her E.
I used to love doing a full AP with her back in the day I treated it more like a fun troll pick tho I just remember it being very glass cannon
Great idea, I will definitely try this out I got two questions though. 1. Who to pick, if the enemy picks Nami first? 2. Does this work on other enchanters like Lulu or Janna too?
Brand or xerath
If skilled twitch ap
And it doesn't work on lulu Janna
Seraphine is a good counterpick. Brand and Xerath require some skill and have no much utility
Never played NAMI before, went to ranked and won two games in a row
Definitely nice build
Gold2
timestamps would be nice
16:22 FINALLY SOME1 SAID THIS ABOUT CONTROL WARDS...
What about the new seraphs embrace? it gives a lot of AP too. does that fit in the build after mandate?
Imo nope, because seraphs kinda slow you down . I was Nami main and I tried almost every build... and Seraphs wasnt really good on her.
this is great bc i just got coven nami now im a support main
Do you still think Treasure Hunter is the go to after the nerfs in the upcoming 13.4 patch?

Its funny seeing this JUST after being explained the math of nami E with Banner, and how much damage they do in combination, is mathematically unfair.
Very interesting ! Would give it a try if I ever play League again
me and my duo have been playng this, she plays nami i play kaisa and it makes league so much more fun for both of us!! thank you so much >33333333333
Ty for guide. I have amebas in my team almost every game tho
Oh cool a vid with Hector in it. Quite a surprise
i tried both for a long time and must say lulu does the same but somehow the results always way better forr me and my team especialy when my team is playing against scaling champs
Can you update this build please? They changed the items
+1 I wonder what Hector would build now that Mandat isn't a Mythic anymore
Hector is such a gigachad, hes recomending the vegan build instead of Ludens oneshot so that the mysterious 70% nami challenger players dont get demoted, full respect😫👑👑
Wild rift nami players: first time??
It doesnt works on wild rift?
What do you substitue dark seal/mejai's with tho
@@ReXiRa787 staff of flowing water
@@joaquinarocacastano9651 it does work
Ok thx
Been 4 years since I last mained nami, maybe i should get back into her and support.
Can you do one of these for each role?
i dont know if anyone reads this but the item changes made mandate a legendary item so what is the build now ?
Perhaps you should link a build page so it's easier to follow.
Most braindead strat that riot will never nerf:
Step 1: make dinner
Step 2: lock in yuumi
Step 3: win on full tummy
:3
7:50 finaly someone telling the truth about all this.
I took this into a norm got my first S+ going 2/7/41 never touching this champ it was super fun and stupid easy
ryze is a good champion to learn cause when his time is gona shine youll shine the greatest
for a start your friend who you claim isnt very good which actually rude and public addressing it but 83-62 win rate means his climbing into plat which is above average player so he isnt as bad as you are making it out its not like his gold with 2000 game sand a 45 % win rate
Re visiting this video almost at the end of 2024 and after taking some break from League... does this still work? I have seen some changes being done to some items.
I always loved Nami and would always go ap on her 😂 People never expect me to one shot combo them.
you better not have set me up Hector I'll be back!
so should we take Nami as carry and supp Cait
would the new seraphs embrace a good option for this build too?
no.
I’m stoked to try this.
I wonder what Hector would build now that Mandat isn't a Mythic anymore, can we have an update please ?
need this so badly
Btw I've been spamming it those last days and have 65% wr on her. I still go Mandat as a first item > Mejai > Either Rabadon if I've a lot of golds or Helia Echos. Lot of roams and GG
does it still perform well when impreial mandate is not a mythic anymore
is there an updated build with the current items for this?
1:31 I think I had a Namigarm
Free pizza for hector?? Man I have never been closer to signing up, too bad I’m broke.
Did something similar to this once on a whim, ended up with double digit kills on Nami. And here I thought it was a one time thing 🤣
What rune page do you use
Does this still work on this 13 season? No mythic sup item give you passive ap for having others legendary items
