Winners will be receiving their pens soon.
Love the titanium. Thanks for the many years of great videos.
Very attractive pens for the price. It's always nice to be able to lure in newbies to the hobby with eye catching pens for a steal like they can sometimes be found from the Chinese vendors. The Black Forest pen would be my pick. The knurling on the body and texture on the section are pretty nice.
Both are beautiful. I would pick the titanium one because I’ve never had anything titanium and it would be fun trying something new. Thanks for a great breakdown of these pens.
Thanks
I like the black forest model, but both are nice. I purchased so many pens after watching your videos. It would be nice to win one.
You are a winner! Contact me for shipping, chris@rapseik.org
What lovely pens! I'd be grateful to win either of them, though of course the real winner is everyone who gets inspired to own one of the pens you review each week!
Super cool! Wow I have been shopping around for a titanium pen to join my all titanium EDC kit. This would be my first all black pen as I currently use a blue LAMY AL-star as my daily writer. Super cool!!
Thanks, Chris, for doing these thoughtful, practical, and helpful pen reviews! I have enjoyed them for a while now. As a fellow member of the Black Pen Society, I do already own the Hong Dian Black Forest pen (with a black nib), as well as some others. However, I do not own the Titanium pen (nudge, nudge, wink, wink, say no more)...I would therefore humbly place my hat in the ring for the Titanium pen! Thanks for your generosity and consideration! P.S. I loved the Looney Tunes graphic at the end!

Thanks, Chris, I will be in contact soon!
The Titanium pen is the most interesting of the two for me. I like the design of the barrel a lot. I don't think I have anything similar to it. The syringe pens are also interesting. I like pens that are distinctive, be it acrylic, metal or some other material.
Thanks for the reviews of these pens. Yes, the spring is not one of my favorites or the ones with the ball.
i like the deep dive into each pen. They are both nice looking.
Both pens look really cool. I would prefer Titanium because I'm not a fan of textured grips.
Beautifull pens, specially the Titanium.
the titanium is awesome. it would be my first fountain pen and would match the rest of my titanium EDC! great channel and videos!
I love all pens and your videos. I would really like the titanium as I already have a lot of black pens...here's hoping!
Clean simple pens thag look stunning. Love the titanium.
I always wondered about the purpose of spring. Thanks for the clarification.
Nice, to the point review. I prefer the titanium model. If I won, this would not be my first fountain pen. But it would be my first Temu pen.
Both pens have their virtues. I think I like the aesthetics of the titanium pen a tad more. Either seems like a perfect work pen.
Thanks for the giveaway! Appreciate the opportunity and your generosity.
I love the titanium one. In my job I end up walking through a lot of mechanical rooms checking on things, taking notes, running fire drills and filling out forms. This pen would be a great replacement to my Preppy - much nicer looking, but if it gets scratched up or dirty I won't feel as bad as I would if it were one of my more expensive pens. Bonus, I was a chemist for 20 years and used syringes on a regular basis!
The titanium has the best esthetic it is great that they post. It would be my second pen. My first was found at an estate sales.
Thanks for doing a giveaway! I'd have to say the Titanium one just for the black nib. The fact that it's a bit wetter is also a plus.
Honestly, the pen having a story behind it, coming from _the_ Chrisrap52, would be the more valuable part
Both pens are very nice. My choice would be the titanium with the black nib as I have a matte black Pilot Vanishing Point with a fine black nib that I enjoy using. Good luck to all!
I love that black forest pen. I don’t have a black pen and it actually is my favorite colour. Thank you for the videos!
It's certainly a tough choice, but if I had to choose I would say the Black Forest. The design gives me the feel of practical feel and the smudge is no where near as bad with the Black Forest, making it handy for a lefty like myself and others out there. This would be my first fountain and the Black Forest gives the sense of being forgiving for a beginner. Good luck to everyone that has decided to enter :)
I would prefer the Titanium, mainly because I'm interested in the material.
A very nice review. What I found interesting was the design of the clips on both pens. Usually, Chinese pens have "generic clips " Hongdian has focused on designing functional and pleasing clips. Both are nice the black forest's clip has a sleek modern look.
Safe, Healthy and Happy what else could one ask for? Such a meaningful sentence.
I'll take a free pen any day if it's coming coming from you.
Love your channel.
Black Forest for me, coz' it has that nice baseball bat shape w/ a flat cap, I think they call this also a scepter shape.
God bless, thanks for the generosity sir Chris.
I'd love to try a titanium pen! They're both way cool though. Thanks for the opportunity to win some cool gear!
I just found your channel and subscribed, being 77 years old I’m always looking for a pen that’s easier to hold on to,that knurled section would fill the bill. Thanks for the chance.
Thank you for the giveaway
I like both pens, however, the black Forest is on my cart but didn't have a chance to buy it
Great video, as usual. I love all your content, so much. Your video library here on youtube is a genuine resource for the fountain pen community. A real gift to us all.
I agree, That titanium pen looks great with the black nib.
That Black Forest looks different from the original Black Forest pen, isnt it?? The clip is different, for sure.
( please leave me out of the giveaway. You have sent me so much over the years. Spread the love to a new lucky dog!)
Cheers to you, my friend! 🎉🎉
Nice review Chris. Both pens seem nice and are adequate writing pens, but I think the Titanium would be my preference. It would give me the opportunity to find other interesting nibs to try out, and it could keep my other inexpensive Chinese pens company. FYI: I noticed the one you called the Black Forest pen has a nib branded with the name Yiren! I don't know if that is significant or not!!
I choose the black forest pen. It has a nice two tone finish on the nib which really constrats well with the whole pen. It could easily be my first fountain pen
for me it would be the black forest, if only to try a textured metal section
Informative video and can really tell in the writing portion , nice ink flow.
That being said I would be interested in aquiring the titanium fountain pen with the black nib. I have a jinhao 80 in black with a replacement black broad lamy nib they would make a nice EDC pair.
Nice review, Chris. I prefer the titanium black pen, not only because I was admitted to the infamous and allegedly secret Black Pen Society a long time ago, but because that chevron design on the barrel and the slight upturn on the clip appeal to me. Thanks for again telling your fans why those wire spirals don't stay in your converters.
I haven't had a new pen for ac few years at this point, and would be very pleased to ink up that Titanium pen with one of my stealthy inks like P.R. Ebony Green. The chevron design on the barrel is a nice design touch. Thanks for this as always!
I would take Conid Kingsie and MB 149
That would be a felony.
I love the pens, keep up the great videos you produce!!!!
Looks nice!
Great video!
Shame I live in Europe, but I like that you're doing a give away anyway. 😀
Wow those are some cool looking pens. Are you thinking of going to the North Carolina pen show?
A couple of nice looking pens, I do prefer the look of the black nib in the black pen. I do understand that it is not cost effective to post one across the water to the UK. I think we can get spoiled by the free postage from China and yet it costs to get a pen delivered from elsewhere, even a UK seller. I nearly had to write off a pen recently that was delivered damaged as it was going to cost me twice as much as I paid for the pen to post it back to the seller (Fortunately the seller understood and sent me a replacement anyway).
I like the one with the knurled barrel the best. Reminds me of the first fountain pen I bought after years of not having a fountain pen, The Hong Dian Black Forest. Hell, maybe this is the same pen. Just began the video. The body is a bit different though. Unless the changes the design. Mine also had a black nib. Cheers
I really like the one with the black nib because the wavy texture is very interesting and the clip sort of reminds me of a lamy safari
I'm a sucker for black pens. Every time I go looking to buy a new pen, I inevitably end up buying another black one😅. I don't have a titanium one though and it would love to add it. BTW, I remove the agitators (aggravators) from my converters too.
Great looking pens and great video, I really enjoy your channel and content. I think both pens look great and I think I would enjoy either one.
Thanks for a great and interesting video. The Black Forest one is really nice in that it has a knurled barrel which makes the pen easier to hold. Love the design. Your reviews of the two pens are very informative.
I think either would be a great first pen. That being said, I'm rather partial to the titanium one. It has a little more to it that catches the eye.
Very generous of you to do the giveaway! Your videos are one of the main reasons I dove into this hobby. Informative, relaxing and a joy to watch! I don’t have any all black pens, so the titanium one with the black nib really excites me. My wife is a first responder (and hasn’t been converted to fountain pens yet) but I think she’d get a kick out of the syringe pens. Also my mom is an artist, and Van Gough is one of if not her very favorite artist.
Oh, yeah. They still have them, at least on the Canadian Temu site. I just ordered a black one to make the minimum order price. Bobby (Pens) has some very nice slightly bent #5 nibs in black and silver. They will go nice with these. I'm in Canada (obviously) and already have one of these anyways so I'm not entering.
I would prefer the Titanium one. Choice based on the writing sample. Beautiful knurling on the other one. Both look great, like your content. Thank you.
Hi. I recently came into contact with the American brand Conklin. Verry pleased with quality and prices. Have you ever reviewed this brand? Thanks for the post.
Yes I have. But not all the Conklins I have. Quality can vary quite a bit. You might enjoy this one - ruclips.net/video/erNvkTBYO0Q/видео.html
@@chrisrap52 Thank you!
I recently bought one of their pens that came with a Omniflex nib and I really liked it. Which is the most important part really. Cheers.
I've learned a lot from watching your videos! I like the look of both of these pens, and if I were to win one I'd love getting the Black Forest -- I particularly enjoy sections that have shape: such as indents or tapering diameters. I don't have any pens with textured sections...yet!
Very cool of you to do a giveaway! I like both of those pens, so I’d be happy with either. I guess the one with the black nib edges out the other just barely. My wife is a nurse, so the hypodermic needle pen would be cool to give her.
Hi Chris, for me the "Titanium" 😅
I already have a Hero 737 that has the same design as your "Black Forest" except for the barrel which has some sort of fish scales pattern. I also have another one in gunnetal but (apparently) branded Yiren which has the same nib as your "Titanium". Both nibs are surprisingly good, but as you mentioned, they both (unfortunately) dry out very quick 😔
great looking pens. if I had to pick I'd pick the titanium one. with my life style titanium fits it better. I only have one pen right now a pilot metropolitan, Sadly I'm in canada, but id cover shipping. looking for a every day carry pen.
Thanks for the review! I really like the trend of guilloche pens and would love to add these to my collection!
I think one of these pens should go to someone that doesn’t have a fountain pen and wanting to get into this great hobby.
Both of the, but black forestal is pretty elegant.
I recently bought a black forest pen and i've made it my carry-around pen. So, if you pick me for the Titanium, I won't be sad. :)
That titanium pen reminds me of a pen that my ailing mother gave me. My dog tried to eat the pen, and before I was able to retrieve it, the dog was lost in a house fire, along with my dreams of ever performing in the circus. 😢
just commenting for the chance of a freeee fountain pen YASSSS
I forgot to mention the Blck Forest
titanium better.
Did the giveaway happen already? Who won?
Yes, I am selecting the winners.
