I got a Ryzen 7 mini pc last xmas, and absolutely love it! Really digging this thing for emulation and 90s-2010s PC games. Super cool tech, also basically portable!
Great video, it's a very cool mini PC, good to see they're getting more powerful and able to emulate with higher graphics/FPS, also able to be used for capture on OBS from console etc, mini PCs are definitely on my radar now for having so much vercitility/formfactor.
Actually pretty impressed with this. Never considered one of these small pc's but seems to run pretty strong. If it had a Better pricepoint than id get one.
AyaNeo makes some fantastic low spec gaming PCs. I had the original 2021 handheld before the Steam Deck launched and now I have the Slide. I also picked up the AM01 Mac look-a-like for my upstairs den for light gaming. They all have held up really well.
This isn't bad for a 1080p/30 maybe 60fps machine. But the price is too high for it. However, it's just the tech that is expensive. Functionality is pretty decent. $150 less than it would kill
I think that audio glitch is something with dolphin. I know exactly what you're talking about, and I experience the same thing on my Ambernic when playing Pikmin and Four Sword Adventures.
I like it a lot! I don't have the money for one right now (neck deep into fixing several consoles) but hopefully if they continue to sell them and not always out stock (hem hem Analogue hem), I can pick one up within the next year or so.
Seem to be a bunch of mini PCs coming out with that Ryzen processor at the mo. All the customised elements and styling of this unit are pretty cool though. Pricing doesn't seem too crazy either.
Gaming performance can increase considerably with faster RAM too. %25+ on top isn't uncommon going from 5200mt/s RAM and 7200mt/s. Neat little machines in my opinion. In regard to the psp pop-in you mentioned, is it possibly just the way the game is, but not noticeable at lower resolutions on a small screen? Running games "enhanced" can sometimes show up things you don't notice on real hardware (speaking from my own experiences at least)
This looks awsome. Could you please show us technologically challenged console gamers how you'd install games and hook up controllers? This is likely 101 for you, but the rest of us who have never used a PC to game (or emulate? - am I using this correctly) before have no idea. Do you purchase special controllers that connect to it blue tooth? How do you operate windows, you hook it up to a monitor or TV and use a mouse or wireless mouse plugged into USB? Do you have to download "Dolphin" emulator on it?
Dissapointed. I thought it was going to have a removable M.2 media like the Xbox Series X. This is my idea for a system. But actually I want the display on a M.2 cartridge or enclosure. And a way to sync a game to it from a NAS. And have WIFI built in also.
with my Amazon Gaming Account I think this would turn into an arcade machine. Just get a two player joystick and I would have an arcade machine with Atari and Neo-Geo games.
Funny you should mention that... I'm updating my standup MAME arcade machine w/ a mini PC similar to this one right now. Gonna do a whole video on it soon.
Yeah, the first thing I thought of was a Betamax player, haha.Ayaneo themselves have said it is NES inspired though - makes sense as these is their “retro” line of miniPC.
The pricing on this isnt great considering its using integrated graphics. You could probably build a better PC with a dedicated GPU for that $600- $700 price tag. Unless this form factor is your main priority I would skip this at that price point.
As a casual gamer who doesn't own nor build my own gaming PC, I only go as far as reading the model name of the GFX card. If it has NVIDA, Radeon, AMD or Ryzen + some number, that's good enough for me 👍 as long as it runs the game at min settings, it's way better than a computer that doesn't run it at all 🤷 I could care less about every little spec it has 😅
I should have mentioned that the fan comes on under heavy load with a newer game that is pushing the CPU/GPU...but not any louder than your typical Windows laptop doing the same.
Can it run Vulkan on the PCSX2? Reason I ask is I noticed when you showed Jak and Daxter the shadow dropped round him. Vulkan settings seem to fix it but can be fiddly on some PCs. I'm very interested in this device as I don't like having a big rig set up and PS2 emulation would be great. ❤
I always questions why they put dual ethernet ports on devices like this? How many people actually use both? I would prefer one ethernet port and another set of USB ports in place of the second ethernet.
Be sure to check the system for malware. Especially if the OS is preinstalled. They also like to stuff exploits into the software packages " rgb control software etc.
Yeah, that’s why I mentioned it in the video about security patches and virus scanners. This machine didn’t have Chrome pre-installed (and that was a different company) so it’s all good.
I like this channel in general, but it’s definitely feeling like the beginning of a dead channel. Anyone have some fun ideas for what he could do to keep it going?
Is emulation actually legal? I remember back in the day you had to download the emulators and game files off sketchy websites. What’s the procedure these days? Does China just load up on there?
Question for everyone. I want to buy a “mini PC” that has all, or most, games pre-installed any where between NES to ps2/xbox/Gamecube/Dreamcast and everything in between. What system do you all recommend?
SO..i wonder if we're getting good results with just chips, why are we still messing with huge over priced graphics cards?? I mean surely we're only a few years away from no cards and only chips at this point?
I got two of these and the Previous model that looks like a mac, the day before Chinese new year kicked off. It's pretty legit. I've enjoyed setting it up for a retro console.
There’s a fan. You can see it through the grill when I turn the console over in the video. However, it really sounds loud when you are pushing the PC with a modern game. It’s probably about as loud as a Windows laptop. I didn’t really notice over the sounds of the game I was playing.

I think that's the issue with these devices, at these prices. Why wouldn't someone just get a PS5? It needs to offer more for less, it needs to be better value, I don't see that here.
The versatility of a PC: Play all generations of games through emulation AND you can use if for video editing, word processing, web browsing, social media, etc...
for this price in europe you can just buy a playstation 5... i dont see the point, it cannot play 60fps minimum 1080 high settings, does it make a good emulator / old game machine box? yes, but for that price, you can make or buy any other older computer for 150-200-250 euro. the price of this mini pc should be at the maximum of 250 euro (without ram installed barebones) since its 100% propriatery and you cannot upgrade the cpu or add an integrated gpu. even then, at 250 euro id rather buy a pc from circa 2008-2010, wich you can find at 250 euro with an 8core bulldozer fx cpu, or a extreme quad core 4gb to 8gb ram and gpus in between gtx580 / gtx980 / 970 / 960 / 1050.

I love the NES throwback. This looks better than the latest PS and Xbox
Yeah, efficiency has really gotten good with some of these processors.
I like this device, I'm surprised though they added two USB 2.0 ports on the back instead of just more USB 3.0 ports.
NO! you need some usb2 ports!! for example alot of USB microphones or headsets work better on usb 2! so having both is improving compatibility!
Hey man, what game is at 13:35? Thanks for the review! 👍🏻✌🏼
I have my pc for that but maybe in ghe future i do a mini pc myself.

What we need is a miniPC powerful enough to run VR. Then you can just plug your Racing Sim Rig into it and headset and dont need a giant tower!

Nice wireless SNES controller, they don't sell that version with purple buttons anymore, do they?
Temps are unforgivenly high for idle and load. Also you will disable that mini screen after a week after you play enough with it
