Mark, this is a beautiful video. Running along the Skyline with the amazing views - wow! Congrats on the longest run, you're ready. Thanks for including Relive.
Thanks buddy! The views over in the peaks are incredible. The hills are also really tough. Character building, you could say! 👍🏻😄 I think the Relive video gave a good showing of what the route was really like... tough, lol.
@@markg99 mate, that’s some epic scenery and difficult terrain 💪🏼 going by the elevation gain I don’t think your ultra is going to be any harder than that 👍🏻
Hey there, Mark! Your journey on the Edale Skyline looked intense! Zigzagging up those steps, battling the steep slopes, and taking on those endless hills must've been quite the adventure. Keep chasing those peaks and sharing your adventures. Looking forward to more epic runs!
Yes, the skyline was definitely intense! I think it did a good job of making the race itself seem a little bit easier, without having all of those "mountains" to go up and down.
Well done Mark. Thats what it is all about. Amazing views and a long tiring run. I wish I could still do it!. I was hoping that your running partner didn't leave you in the middle of not knowing where. Loved the hat holder, I shall have to remember that as I usually wear a hat and a buff. Glad the training is going well mate.
Awesome long run Mark, you really stepped up your training with this one and I'm sure it will pay off on race day! Beautiful scenery too, I guess the views were worth the climb! Good to hear that you recovered fairly well from it!
Thanks, Chloe. That was the 'peak' of my training :) The scenery was amazing. It even managed to take my attention away from my aching legs in some places lol.
Well done mate great effort , I love edale skyline it’s one of the best routes in the Peak District haven’t ran it for some time must have changed a few of the hills names since I was last up there 🤣🤣🤣
Hehe...my friend had his poles with him and let me have a quick go. It wasn't long enough to get the hang of how to use them for any benefit, and I honestly can't see myself splashing out on a pair at the moment. He only used them on a couple of sections from what I remember. We spent more time picking them up and putting them in the quiver again, as they would fall out if he bent over :) Tell your friend they've found the one weak point in my amazing supply of running knowledge! 😁
🤣🤣 Brilliant! Of course, you're correct...though I've no idea what the hill was actually called :) They all look the same to my untrained eye. Big and steep!

Looks like a good one mate, I’ll watch it tonight, need to get the popcorn 🍿 ready 👍🏻
Cheers mate 👍🏻🏃♂️ Enjoy the show. Plenty of shots of me gradually getting more tired... 😁👍🏻
@@markg99 I caught a quick glimpse at the start, good to see a nice river shot 🎥👍🏻

Nice one Mark, after watching it I am reminded to keep my hat on. That bold spot stands out like a trig point in the mountains.
😁👍🏻 cheers mate. I made sure to keep my hat on. My bald spot is big enough to land a helicopter on 😂
Epic Mark! Reminds me of my summer holidays as a kid walking up all of the tors in and around the lakes!
That sounds like some holiday! I'm only just discovering the joys of those huge hills. They take it out of you at my age 😄👍🏻

Damn look at all those hills and elevation! Amazing area. Great video Mark.
I had no idea just how immense the hills were over there until recently. It's like a whole other world. Cheers mate! 👍🏻🙂
Class video, Sparky. Those views are up there with the stuff Ben Notley captures. Great stuff, your training seems to be going really well.
Cheers mate. High praise indeed. I wish I could run like Mr Notley! :)
Wow what a beautiful tour you've given us of the area, some of the route was absolutely brutal for running! Well done on the distance too 🔥
Hiya 🙂 It was really tough. The scenery was amazing though, so that made up for it. I was also glad my hat didn't get blown off on the way round 😄👍🏻
Simply stunning! What an epic adventure Mark! 👏 I have heard that Brian Clough is a pretty intense climb! 🤣 Keep up the great work buddy! 😎🤘
😂😂 cheers mate. Yep, tackling Brian straight after Big Hill is a nightmare! 👍🏻
Nice one Mark, a good old hill day 👌 some nice views up there and of course the obligatory wind that trys to claim another hat 😂
Cheers, Martin :) Hilliest day I've ever had. Was definitely glad to make it back with my hat still in my possession!
If you can do that you can do anything, smashing work as always, reminded me of my ultra long walk I did there haha
I hope so mate! This did feel like an ultra long walk at some points 😄👍🏻

Thanks mate! I can only imagine how lost I would've got by myself. I saw someone on RUclips doing the hat and buff trick. It works a treat.

:) Cheers mate. It was really windy on the tops, and quite busy on the popular bits. You'll have to go back now they've put those new hills in!
Wow. That looks amazing Mark. Do you think you are going to try using poles at some point ? Asking for a friend…lol…

Looks like a nice route, must have been up early for that lovely morning light?
Oh yes mate. We left Chesterfield at 6am and the car park was already filling up when we got there. It's a popular place.
No way was that Brian Clough. I couldn't see a Forest or anything!

Hat backwards because it's down with kids 😂
😂😎 got to look cool on camera mate! 😁👍🏻
