I would imagine that you need a pretty large room to really push that speaker to it's full potential. I absolutely love the version III of the 7s and 64 and have considered selling my RP-280FAs and 450c so I can step up to these babies. Would still need to get the wife's buy in first LOL.

That is so epic. I'd love to hear a sound comparison of your 3 LaScallas vs the RF-7III/RC-64III. I'm also curious how this would stack up to the RC-7 with its 8" woofers. Awesome video. Can't wait to hear it.

I actually upgraded from my RF7 II to the RF7 III for my 2ch setup. Running them with no subs. Dual sealed subs would be sweet though. Wife just doesn’t want subs in the living room.
Just checked the price of these centers they are insanely expensive so i would totally not do what i said above! Maybe if money were no object just for sake of the experiment.

I got lucky when I ordered my RF-711 and a small and cheaper center channel from Mike at Acoustic Sound Design out of Vegas. He sent me the RC-6411 by accident. He let me keep it and didn’t charge me extra.....
You weren’t kidding. I remember when I bought the RC-64. I had never seen a Center channel that large. Now I have a 120lb LaScala Center that makes the RC-64 III look small LOL
Same here, brotha ! (LaScala for my center, even though the timbre doesnt match the RF-7 iii's.) That RC-64 iii is being used as my back-center HEIGHT speaker , placed 6 feet above my head. { I'll send you a pic.}
Nice unboxing video :-). These are some seriously impressive center channel speakers. I was wondering... Would matching these with a pair of SVS Ultra Tower speakers be a good idea? Your videos are excellent and I thoroughly enjoy watching them. The effort you put into the videos can definitely be seen and goes a long way. I had the Reference Premiere 11channel Dolby ATMOS system which is on my RUclips channel however I just sold it and I’m changing gears completely. I’m very interested in you taking a look into the B&W702S2 and 700 series models. Looks like you are in Florida and if you visit your local Best Buy Magnolia theater they have the 702S2 in stock for demo; next time you are out and about shopping please swing by and give them a spin. I’d love to hear your take in comparison to what you have. Who knows you just might even use that trial option on the SVS to return and upgrade to these B&W because I think you’d like them that much.
David, these will not be replacing the LaScalas. I previously owned and compared the RF-83 / RC-64 and there was no comparison. LaScala won in every part except for the slam factor in the RF-83. Plus the RF-7 III tweeter would be way too high if I placed them behind the screen.
I have a full Klipsch Reference Premiere 5.1 setup, with the RP-450C and thought that's a big centre speaker... But after watching your video i have to think it twice... :D By the way i think having a good centre speaker (means: BIG :D) is a very important in home cinema. Most of the manufactures produces relatively small ones comparing to their big towers. I don't really get this since most of the movie's soundtrack is coming out from the centre speaker.
You are absolutely correct. They say about 80% of everything that happens on screen comes through your center channel so yes it’s extremely important not to skimp on it. Same goes for your sub.
But low frequency signals are very rare on the center channel. The center should have a very good midrange but it doesnt have to be big. I think the RC center is better im voice reproduction compared to the center speakers of the RP Series.
Thanks. No, these were sent to my to review so I’m using my (4) RS-62 II surrounds with them. The Reference Premiere surrounds would be a downgrade to the RS-62 II.

Hey youthman. I got an Onkyo tx-nr555 onkyo. I have an opportunity to buy this center speaker new for about half price or better. Is it gonna run ok or is it a little much for that AVR This model does 140w @ 6 ohms and 80 @ 8 ohms. If its a little much I probably shouldn't buy it. Hate to pass up the deal TY TY
Possibly but I'm not aware of one. Besides, once you begin adding speakers, that 200 wpc would begin to decrease. With a dedicated amp, you typically get the full 200 wpc.
No sir, don’t see me “upgrading” anytime soon. I did recently purchased duel SVS PB16 ultras to replace my aging RSW15’s. ruclips.net/video/LEyj2BZVXPM/видео.html
Thank you for the kind words. You can use either pair of black and red terminals. The reason you have two pair is for people that want to bi-amp or bi-wire by removing the two metal jumpers between the terminals and connecting two pair of speaker wires to them.
No. You would leave the metal jumpers connected. The top two binding posts are for your tweeter and the bottom two are for the woofer. The jumper sends the signal to both the tweeter and the woofers. If you remove the jumpers, you would put one pair of speaker wire to one pair and a separate pair of speaker wires on the second pair.
I am currently looking for a horn driven center channel to dynamically match my self-made horn reference speakers which are more detailed and more intimate with higher resolving power then the slightly harsh and somewhat boomy RF 7. I had not found any great horn center channel yet without costing a fortune. I was lusting after the Blumenhofer Center 25 which is way too experience for what it delivers (3800 Euros). The only thing I do not like about the Klipsch is their rural, wooden design. I like smooth and puristic, elegant speakers in the Bauhaus or cubism tradition. The RC 64 is not yet avalibale in Germany, I guess. Do you know for what it retails in the US? I would love to buy this center but it is a shame Klipsch do not provide alternatively a smooth satin white or black paintwork. I also do not like the copper color of the drivers. Still, I consider buying it as I can see no affordable alternative to the Odeon und Blumenhofer centers. I still would have loved and update of the RC 7 or a center equivalent to the RF 7 in size and output capability. I also own the R 115 SW sub which outperforms Velodyne and SVS which is funny but true. So brutal, like a festival bass when seeing Suicide Silence! Try and play those over the RF 7 ;) By the way Youthman, I like your voice :)
The RC-64 III retails for $1500 in the US. The RC-64 III does come in Black Ash wood veneer but as you mentioned, that's more of a classic, traditional finish. The RC-7 was a great speaker but having dual 8" woofers, it simply didn't fit in most entertainment centers. That is likely why Klipsch moved to the RC-64 II and RC-64 III with quad 6.25" drivers. Klipsch will be sending me an R-115SW in the near future so I am anxious to hear how it compares to the SVS SB-16 and PB-16 that I'm currently reviewing. Thanks for watching!
Hey Youthman! Been a follower for long now. I need your thoughts on the old Klipsch THX Ultra 2 bookshelf speakers. Im planning on doing a behind the screen LCRs.
Hey Matthew that is one of the few Series that I have not heard yet. My understanding is they have a very flat response and are great for movies, but not so much for music. They were definitely designed to go behind an acoustic transparent screen.
You could if you bought used. I only have $700 in my LaScala Trio so it definitely can be done. You just have to be patient to find those Youthman Deals.
Would it be an upgrade? Yes. Will it be a night and day difference? Likely not. I guess it depends on what you are wanting. If you want to maximize your system with the best speaker your space can accommodate, then go for the RP-260.
Thanks for your question. The RC-64 III is $1499.00 MSRP. You can save some money by contacting. A Klipsch Dealer. They can usually get you the best rate. This is not a sponsored video. Klipsch sent me the RF-7 III and RC-64 III to review. I am currently reviewing the SVS Ultra Towers. Parasound just shipped me two of their amps. I’m working with several other companies as well that are sending me product to review.
That's awesome! I love my RF7 III. They are fantastic speakers. Glad the video helped you out. Shoot me an email at michael@youthmanreviews.com when you get ready to buy the matching RC64 III.
My pioneer sc77 pushes 140 watt per channel. Considering the high level of sensitivity of Klipsch speakers, should my receiver be enough? Or do I need an external amp?
It depends on the power supply of your receiver and how many speakers you are connecting. My Marantz SR8012 powers my 7.2.4 Klipsch System to Reference Levels with no problem.
“Sounds better” is always subjective. Our ears hear differently and we all have different preferences. I love the liveliness, detail and clarity of Klipsch but some find them harsh or bright. Some like a more subtle, laid back sound while others find them too concealing.
As I shared yes you can drive that set up with the 3700 H. But a lot depends on how loud you listen, how big your room is, and how far you sit whether or not that AVR will be able to sufficiently drive that set up at those volumes
How does Klipsch pair with Marantz? Looking at RF7III and RC64III or the newer Reference Premier models that will be released this Summer. I have been using RF3-II's for the past 15 years, still love them! just want a change, I'm also running an Onkyo TXNR929 (130watt) I enjoy the sound although I preferred the Klipsch with an older Yamaha RX, not quite as bright and in your face....Your thoughts?
Hi Myk, honestly I do not know yet. Marantz is sending me their new SR8012 to review. It will be a few more weeks before they get one in stock to send me. During my review of the RF-7 III and RC-64 III, I decided to sell my RF-7, upgrade to the RF-7 III and give my son the RF-7 II to match his RC64 II. I have not heard the Premiere Series yet. Klipsch was going to send me a pair of R-280F with an R-115SW to review but I have not received a ship date yet. I too have owned the RF3 II. They sound good but you are going to LOVE the massive sound of the RF7 III. The 1.75" horn is ridiculous. Very refined (unlike the original RF7 that was known for being harsh), yet it maintains the detail Klipsch speakers are known for. I ran Klipsch RF-83 and RC64 with an older Yamaha RX-V1800 and loved it. It's all a matter of taste and personal opinion. If you decide to order the RF7 III and RC64 III and use the links in the description of the video, I will make a small commission for referring you which greatly helps me continue to provide content on this channel. Thanks and let me know if you get them. They are going to rock!
Youthman I’ve had my Klipsch’s paired with the RX-1800 and RX-3900 both were great, I’ve had the Onkyo for almost 3 years now, and to be honest I’m not totally in love with its sound signature, but after having Yamaha’s for about 10 years with the RF3’s the Onkyo was a welcomed change. At the time I loved more in your face presentation, and punchy sound signature...but, over the last year my ears are wanting a more relaxed “natural” sound but want to keep using Klipsch’s, no matter what model. To be honest I’ve been turning off Audyssey for 2 channel music and I much prefer it over Audyssey music or movie mode, Audyssey just makes them to bright and resolving for my taste...sometimes harsh sounding as well. I do however use Audyssey for movies as I love how it tightens up my Sunfire subwoofer, also does a great deal with the rear channels, my room isn’t ideal for rears, they are in corners (front firing) speakers and Audyssey does a lot to to level the boomy corner bass. Ideally I’d love to have a better room acoustically treated and leave Audyssey off at all times. I’d like that some (including Marantz) is now letting you tweak the Audyssey settings and save different configurations via the app. As a professional sound engineer and audio nerd, I’m going to love this!!! Thanks again. Cheers!
@@Youthman Sorry youth man I am up ready for work but I have today off anyway there was a talk and text sorry about the confusion Im just curious about you think is better compared to the 504c or 64iii. $ not the issue. I do plan on getting the denon 6500 or the marantz's 8012 in the future Well maybe a newer receiver if it has 2.1 H DMI
Por dentro es ve que no es bdm ni mdf es madera natural de hay su peso de hay su gran sonido el filtro tiene condensadores de calidad no tiene electrolíticos es una vestía el mejor que e tenido un saludo.
Trying to manage the size and weight of that speaker by yourself must feel like you're using engineering methods they used to move the stones they built the pyramids with. :)
If you watch my unboxing of the RF-7 III, that’s exactly how I did it and someone said “The absolute wrong way to unbox a speaker”. LOL. I didn’t realize there was a “proper” way to inbox but thanks for commenting. 😀. Now you have a new technique to add to your arsenal.
I have owned two Klipsch RC7. It’s is a better center but it’s 15 years old and it will not be remotely close to the timbre of the sound of the RP Series.
@@Dannyboy623 THE SUBWOOFER HELPS. ABSOLUTELY. BUT.....REMEMBER. THE CENTER CHANNEL IS DIRECTIONAL AND NOT UNDIRECIONAL AS THE SUBWOOFER. THAT'S A FACT. I ALSO RESPECT YOUR OPINION. BUT. I DISAGREE.

I just love huge center channels. It would be nice to see an 8 or 10-inch driver version.
Me too. My LaScala center channel weighs 120lbs and has a 15” driver 😀
The RC-7 has dual 8” but I believe Klipsch found a lot of people cannot accommodate a center that high in their entertainment center
Id totally get 2 of these as my mains for music paired with two sealed subs crossed at 120hz

Im new to home audio. how do you know if u need an amp or not? Isn't the receiver enough? Thank you
A lot depends on how much Power your receiver has, the sensitivity of the speakers and how many speakers you are powering
Too big for the mantle, what’s best center that’s fits that 12-18” mantle depth
Today my rp=440c came in it’s not even close to being as big but still hard to get out of the box.
Congrats on the new Center Jason! What did you upgrade from?
Hey Youthman! Been a follower for long now. I need your thoughts on the old Klipsch THX Ultra 2 bookshelf speakers. Im planning on doing a behind the screen LCRs.
Hey Matthew that is one of the few Series that I have not heard yet. My understanding is they have a very flat response and are great for movies, but not so much for music. They were definitely designed to go behind an acoustic transparent screen.
Awesome, man. Thanks. I want to replicate your theater though. However, my budget can’t do the Klipsch Heritage. Lol Awesome content always, man! 🙂
You could if you bought used. I only have $700 in my LaScala Trio so it definitely can be done. You just have to be patient to find those Youthman Deals.
Youthman Awesome deal! I’ll look up to it. Thank you.
What’s that chill song you got goin there?
At 1:02 ish.....my wife says I'm "special" all the time! I get the feeling though it's not what I think it means!!...lol!!!
Haha
Hi, would the 260’s be a big upgrade over my 250’s for movies? TIA
Honestly probably not. I would think the RP-280F would be a more significant jump.
Youthman unfortunately I don’t have the space for the 280’s. So I should just stick with the 250’s in your opinion? Thank you
Would it be an upgrade? Yes. Will it be a night and day difference? Likely not. I guess it depends on what you are wanting. If you want to maximize your system with the best speaker your space can accommodate, then go for the RP-260.
So which do you think is better rd-64iii or the new rp-504c ?
Hi Jason I’m pretty sure you commented on my “unwrapping” video of the two pallets. I haven’t even unboxed the 504C yet. 😀
HEY WAZZUP RUclips!!! I LOVE IT!!!
Thx bro!
Sound like Klipsch did there homework
Nice. MSRP, or street price would be nice to know. Did you spend your own cash on these? Or is this a free sample; sponsored video?
Thanks for your question. The RC-64 III is $1499.00 MSRP. You can save some money by contacting. A Klipsch Dealer. They can usually get you the best rate. This is not a sponsored video. Klipsch sent me the RF-7 III and RC-64 III to review. I am currently reviewing the SVS Ultra Towers. Parasound just shipped me two of their amps. I’m working with several other companies as well that are sending me product to review.
Thank you again for a great product review! Would love to view/read your reviews on the SVS Sub vs Klipsch.
I should be receiving the SB-16 Ultra in a few weeks. I love Klipsch but honestly, I have a feeling the SB-16 Ultra May come out on top.
how much amplifire power need
100 watts will work fine. More power, the better they sound
hey, in comparison with the RP 450 C ? Is she a lot better ?
I have not had the opportunity to hear the Reference Premier Series yet. What mains do you have?
i have the RF7 III, thanks to you for the video about the comparison between the RF/II/III it's help me a lot !!!
That's awesome! I love my RF7 III. They are fantastic speakers. Glad the video helped you out. Shoot me an email at michael@youthmanreviews.com when you get ready to buy the matching RC64 III.
Did you hear the Klipsch rp 280? You are awesome with your Klipschies :D
I have not heard the RP-280F yet but Klipsch said they were sending me a pair sometime this month.
Great!
Smells like fresh wood !! lol smelled a lot of wood in your time :)
Thank you Youthman....now its time for me to look for the "Youthman deal" and then iI'll be set ;)
somebody said that kef q650c sound better, is it real? tq
“Sounds better” is always subjective. Our ears hear differently and we all have different preferences. I love the liveliness, detail and clarity of Klipsch but some find them harsh or bright. Some like a more subtle, laid back sound while others find them too concealing.
Check Hau, why are you asking Youthman, when you should be asking somebody, they seem to have the answers you're looking for.

thanks for your reply
@@bobspringer5370
thanks for your advice
can i drive this center with denon avr 3700h?
Yes. But The more speakers you have connected, the less wattage the center will get from your AVR.
@@Youthman i'm connecting 6.1.2, and using RP-600C for center, thingking to replacing with R-64 iii
As I shared yes you can drive that set up with the 3700 H. But a lot depends on how loud you listen, how big your room is, and how far you sit whether or not that AVR will be able to sufficiently drive that set up at those volumes
If your AVR has preouts, you can always add an external amplifier to take some or all of the load off of the AVR
@@Youthman thanks a lot for reply, just need to make an audition at store i guest
I have some questions....
Ok
Awesome! Can't wait to hear your thoughts on the Marantz 8012 and Klipsch, that is the model I'm most interested in. Thank you sir!
That me too...well the Anthem is too but it might be above what I’m wanting to spend on my upgrade.
Cheers!
I’d love to hear your systems in person, great gear sir!
Lol are you sure you just buy speaker or a tower. Anyway when you think about this bigger compared to the 504C
Hi Cody. Are you asking a question?
Haha. They do get heavy
What is wrong with people? You lay it face down and lift the box off. jeeze!! But with all of these unboxings I never see that.
"smells pretty good like fresh wood" - Thats what she said...lol
LOL so bad...
THE KLIPSCH RC 7 GOES LOWER. IT GOES TO 45HZ. WAY BETTER.
I have owned two Klipsch RC7. It’s is a better center but it’s 15 years old and it will not be remotely close to the timbre of the sound of the RP Series.
@@Dannyboy623 IT DOES!
THE CENTER CHANNEL IS THE MOST IMPORTANT SPEAKER....IT TAKES 75% OF YOUR MOVIE EXPERIENCE.
@@Dannyboy623 THE SUBWOOFER HELPS. ABSOLUTELY. BUT.....REMEMBER. THE CENTER CHANNEL IS DIRECTIONAL AND NOT UNDIRECIONAL AS THE SUBWOOFER. THAT'S A FACT. I ALSO RESPECT YOUR OPINION. BUT. I DISAGREE.
Keep in mind frequencies under 80Hz are not directional so the logic doesn’t work.
Mine are set at 80Hz as well
