- K-ETA is an online electronic travel authorization required for visa-free foreign visitors to enter the Republic of Korea.

0:08 - 22 countries exempt from K-ETA
until 31st December 2024 are: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Italy, Japan, Macao, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Taiwan, UK, US (including Guam)
You will need a valid passport, e-mail address, address and contact number in Korea and a credit or debit card to pay the K-ETA application fee of KRW10,000 + fees (306)
The applicant's photo portrait and passport image or device with camera to capture your photo

Should be in color
Should be in image file such as JPG (RAW file format is not supported)
Image size less than 20MB
No accessories such as hats, scarves, or sunglasses
Recommend less colorful patterned clothing
Full face, front view (75% of the image), eyes should be open looking straight at the camera

K-ETA approval results are sent to the e-mail address provided in the application.
You can also check your K-ETA approval status on the website.
Some got their approval within the day, others longer. The assessment can take more than
72 hours, so it is advisable to apply early.

Hi, our trip to Asia is in March 2025. We need to go to South Korea to board the cruise ship. Right after we landed at the airport, we will be picked up by the bus and transfer to the cruise ship. Do we still need to apply for the K-ETA? I would appreciate some further clarification on this aspect to ensure our trip would not have any problems. Thanks.

Hello, I will be visiting with my husband, so he will apply and I will be the accompanying person but once we get the confirmation do we receive one confirmation per person or one for both of us ? In that case both names will be on the same confirmation correct? Thank you very much
Hi, to apply k-ETA for another person you have to 'Add' member on Check information page as shown in 3:38. however I am not sure if both names will be in the same confirmation or not.

Also, when i was applying i didnt enter any accompanying person, but when my friend was applying she gave my information as an accompanying person. We have the same adress we will stay together that's obvious but me not entering her wouldnt be a problem when enterin the country right? Thank you for your time

Since the 'planned duration of stay' field is not mandatory, you do not need to re-apply or edit your information.

hi, it depends on the reason for rejection, did you see any errors?
if your passport has a validity of less than 6 months, then you have to renew it.

Hi, usually for long term stay you need a visa, if you have a visa, you don't need k-eta.
If travelling with family members, is it need to add member like in video 3.38? The accompanying person earlier part need to fill in? Also, once add member, do you need to fill in another K-ETA for respective person again?
After you add member on 3:38 you don't need to fill another k-eta.

After checking email, only mail received from eximbay pertaining to "request". Is it consider payment done? I do not receive K-ETA application#...And searching status using passport# also "No result". What shall I do now?

Hi, I think they changed the guidelines, you can go with 700x700.
In the application, it only says:
Lower than 20MB
RAW file format is not supported
How do you reduce it to 20mb? I did the photo size 700 part

@@EciiAmeAlexeciaBernard hey , I texted the Airbnb host of the apartment I’m currently staying at. I told them I need to write the accommodation before applying to K-ETA . So they gave me the address and phone number . I used it to apply for the K-ETA . It was approved in less than 30mins. Then after I just booked the accommodation on Airbnb 💓.
